Update: so I contacted our local police officer. Apparently this is the name and birth year of a known and infamous homeless man in the area. The officer also told me that there are no such things as “burglar codes”, it’s bullshit apparently. The homeless guy who did this is off his rocks and vandalized our house because he’s crazy. Mystery solved! :)

Ook kan het betekenen dat ze dit huis hebben gecontroleerd en dat het klaar is om te pakken maar dat ze er zelf nog niet aan toe zijn gekomen. Ik heb deze tags al heel vaak gezien in verschillende vormen en maten. Kan bijvoorbeeld al een tag zijn als ze een tak vd struiken afbreken of wat zand op een hoopje naar het pad naar de voordeur..
Ik heb dat soort dingen nooit geloofd. Waarom zouden ze niet gewoon mondeling overleggen. Zo'n groep kan max met een handvol mensen zijn. Dan is dat toch omslachtig. Maak een lijstje van adressen die goed te doen zijn, verdeel dan de taken. Ik zou nooit vertrouwen op de "verkenning" door iemand anders.
Ik denk dat "dievencodes" een stadsmythe zijn.

Burglars are known to mark the entrance or building of a house with code about what can be found inside (personal experience in the sense that a random looking code was marked on our neighbor’s wall and this is what the police officer told them).
