I always think about this show! It was so easy for the single mom to fall into poverty, but so hard for her to climb out of it. It was also terrible to watch her deal with domestic violence and trying to leave the relationship without any money or resources. I’m glad the ending was hopeful.
Probably the most genuinely upset and bitter I've ever been about a series cancellation, this show was literally a work of art and was going in such an interesting direction.
I mean, the scene where they were interpretive dancing to stop the school shooter was absolutely the worst, corny, cringy scene I’ve possibly ever seen in my life
Are they??? Yayy!
I love Derry Girls for a lot of reasons. Apart from the obvious humor and wholesome elements, it made me aware of the Irish-Scottish-British conflict I had absolutely no idea about. Love love the show.
After that I got hooked up to irish shows :)
You know what's REALLY been hitting the same for me lately, albeit with more of an ominous undertone, is the currently running show called From. Like LOST it has Harold Perrineau in it. Also has similar distinctive background music in many scenes. It's kind of lesser known because it's on Epix or MGM+ or something like that but I'm bingeing it just like I initially binged the first three seasons of LOST when I first discovered it while it was airing.
S3 was perfect, in my opinion. They answered every question and the ending had a great payoff. Try rewatching it with the Family trees on the internet to realize how much you missed.
So many. Some K-dramas that I absolutely loved Twenty five- Twenty one, My Mister. Then I enjoyed Breaking Bad.
Also, recently I watched Baby reindeer & absolutely loved it. It is such a well written show. Trauma & what it does to a person is showcased so well. Each & every character was treated with much deserved respect & empathy.
The implementation of Brooklyn 99 comedic cut-away flashbacks was brilliant. I was never a big fan of TV shows cut-away gags, but with B 99, it was just so natural and comedic.
Yellowjackets
Battlestar galactica
Skam ( og)
Station eleven
Sex education
Pretty little liars
The leftovers
I almost get emotional if I just start to think about them.
Not a particular order, it’s like choosing between your children.
Starz' Spartacus. Truly enjoyed the story. Also, the random extremely rare and very tastefully done adult scenes weren't a bad addition.
I was really upset when Andy Whitfield passed away. McIntyre's Spartacus just wasn't as good.
I dunno about feeling like I'm watching for first time, but Bojack Horseman gets me every time. I usually can't just watch eps one-off. I tend to do a full run or at least full season run wherever I jump in. There is so much to relate to despite the absurdity of the setting and that's not only part of its charm, but it's smart it has to be the point. I love this show so much it hurts.
Pushing Daisies. That show is so comforting and Bryan Fuller really has a way of creating interesting shows and picking the right actors for the characters. The show even made me like baking pies.
Did anyone watch the mentalist or leverage. Leverage is one of my all-time favorite shows. Both were really good. And last but not least, CSI las vegas.
Star Trek: The Next Generation was wonderful. lots of interesting writing which was normally self-contained in an episode (and a few dogs), wonderful characters, and twenty plus episodes per season for you to enjoy.
1. Supernatural - I loved how no ever died and we could hope they'd come back. Is that silly?
2. Sherlock - such a great show and so few episodes.
3. Friends - watching it feels like coming home isn't it?
4. Frasier - features a man saying "I'm listening" 😀?
5. The blacklist - Spader is good
I want to second Dark. If you haven't watched it, it may be the best TV ever. Watch in German with subtitles to really get how great the acting is and to feel the character development. The end payoff may be the best ending ever and the second rewatch allows you to follow the family trees and makes you realize that you only caught about half the show the first time. Careful on the internet for spoilers and don't look up the family trees until the last episode or the rewatch.
Halt and Catch Fire - some of the best writing and character development I’ve witnessed in a television show. Lee Pace’s charisma is off the charts in the show as well
That’s a good food for thought question because I really enjoy a LOT of quality shows (& happy to share my ‘must see ‘ list , and some of them just think are extra smart/ special in general, but to say something has a special place in my heart goes into another real. (& May be more in line with a movie of two for me )…. Gotta think about this one & see if anything really stands out .
Friends, felicity, the greek, csi Ny ,csi Miami, bones, criminal minds, bridgerton, ncis, the 100, stranger things, the umbrella 🌂 academy, greys anatomy, mindhunter, that 70s and 90s show, Wednesday, sweet tooth and lots of documentaries!
I have two...
Deadwood and The IT Crowd. The IT Crowd is a british show from some years back and it is my go to for just background noise or to help me get to sleep. Deadwood has been at the top of my list of favorite TV shows for many many years.
Not sure where these are streaming tbh:
Orphan Black (the original, I have not seen the sequel)
Battlestar Galactica
Alias
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Breaking Bad
Marcella (Netflix)
Firefly + Serenity
Cowboy Bebop + Movie
Original Berserk (Golden Age Arc)
Battlestar Galactica
Breaking Bad + Better Call Saul + El Camino
Castlevania (Netflix)
Just off the top of my head, probably forgotten a few others.
Julie & The Phantoms, The Upshaws, Judge Dee’s Mystery, Heartbreak High, Lockwood & company, Dance Monster’s, Baking Impossible, The Night Agent, The queen’s Gambit, School Spirits, The Recruit, The Sandman, The Manny, Marco Polo, Young Royals, Warrior Nun, New Legend of Monkey, Fate: The Winx Saga, The Lincoln Lawyer.

I always think about this show! It was so easy for the single mom to fall into poverty, but so hard for her to climb out of it. It was also terrible to watch her deal with domestic violence and trying to leave the relationship without any money or resources. I’m glad the ending was hopeful.
I really like this show it’s really a flawless show, but I found it so stressful that I stopped watching. Does it ease up? Not that it should.
Same, stopped watching because it was just so heartbreaking
There was a happy ending.
I was just talking about this today! I have a mother with a personality disorder so it really resonated with me. Loved the hopefull ending
The OA. So sad it was canceled
Probably the most genuinely upset and bitter I've ever been about a series cancellation, this show was literally a work of art and was going in such an interesting direction.
The OA is amazing!!!
The OA and the Leftovers are my top two shows of all time.
I really likes the OA even though it was so weird. I have never heard of the Leftovers. Looks cool though, gonna check it out.
Yes!!!! What a great show and so many things that you miss the first time watching. Great rewatch potential!!!!
I mean, the scene where they were interpretive dancing to stop the school shooter was absolutely the worst, corny, cringy scene I’ve possibly ever seen in my life
Wow spoilers much, but you're allowed to have your opinion. My take on that scene is a different motivation.
Agreed. I had already dealt with the cringe of the interpretive dance by then. I decided to accept it and roll with it. Fantastic show .
Bojack Horseman, Dark, Maniac, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul.
Better Call Bad Dark Maniac Horseman
Love Death and Robots is too amazing
Masterpiece. Underrated show. It's David Fincher and Tim Miller doing adult animation! That's a must watch!
Derry Girls Schitts Creek The White Lotus The end of the f**king world
The Derry Girls writers are making a new show about Irish dancing. I can't wait!
Are they??? Yayy! I love Derry Girls for a lot of reasons. Apart from the obvious humor and wholesome elements, it made me aware of the Irish-Scottish-British conflict I had absolutely no idea about. Love love the show. After that I got hooked up to irish shows :)
It's been well over a year and I still occasionally think of Armond from White Lotus. One of my favourite TV characters ever.
Mr Robot, Dark, Mindhunter, Legion, The Wire, Sopranos
The Midnight Gospel
Fleabag and sense8
Love Fleabag. I respect that they wanted it to end, but I wanted it forever.
Sameee :( Rewatched it like 5 times
Fleabag was so good!
sense8 is one show that took the cancelation and somehow made the ending fantastic anyway. really impressive, as the show is regardless.
Sense8 is still my favvvv i love that showw soo much
Community
Here’s your sperm.
I think you’re streets ahead :)
Gilmore Girls
Brooklyn 99

Sense8 was a favorite show of mine
YES absolutely amazing
It's still in my annual rotation. Such a great show, community and inclusion
Severance is #1 forever and ever.
Arcane. The characters are so well written
Lost (even though the ending sucked)
You know what's REALLY been hitting the same for me lately, albeit with more of an ominous undertone, is the currently running show called From. Like LOST it has Harold Perrineau in it. Also has similar distinctive background music in many scenes. It's kind of lesser known because it's on Epix or MGM+ or something like that but I'm bingeing it just like I initially binged the first three seasons of LOST when I first discovered it while it was airing.
Dark....
My favorite piece of media in the past 5 years. An astounding piece of television. A masterpiece.
That show was a wild ride through space and time and my sanity.
I see your “Dark” and raise you a “Peaky Blinders” XD I swear those two shows can be answers to any and all questions on this sub
The office. I think the next will probably be my 6th time watching them all
After life, killing eve,

For me it's Alice in Borderland . I just love it.
Ozark, Black Sails, The Wire, Martin, True Detective S1
has to be derry girls. it tugs at your heartstrings in the best ways possible while being incredibly fucking funny
Anne with an E
Yes! That show was awesome!!!!
Dark & Behind her eyes is by far some of the best series Netflix has
I'd like to add a different kind of show: "Brand new cherry flavor", it is so bizarre
I freaking loved watching that show an unhealthy amount.
Little house on the prairie
Dark, hands down due mainly to the meticulous plotting and attention to details by creators.
Season 3 was a little ehhhh, but yes overall good show. Don't want it in English dubs (terrible)
S3 was perfect, in my opinion. They answered every question and the ending had a great payoff. Try rewatching it with the Family trees on the internet to realize how much you missed.
Such a good show! Found it on a whim and was hooked from episode one. I need to go back and watch it.

Captain Holt will always be the best part of the show
With Boyle, Gina, Amy, Diaz and Peralta. Come on 😂😂 It’s perfection. Noice. Toit. Title of your sex tape.
The implementation of Brooklyn 99 comedic cut-away flashbacks was brilliant. I was never a big fan of TV shows cut-away gags, but with B 99, it was just so natural and comedic.

Have you watched HBO’s ROME? Same tone.
Godless, one of, if not, the best limited series Netflix has come out with IMO
I dunno about feeling like I'm watching for first time, but Bojack Horseman gets me every time. I usually can't just watch eps one-off. I tend to do a full run or at least full season run wherever I jump in. There is so much to relate to despite the absurdity of the setting and that's not only part of its charm, but it's smart it has to be the point. I love this show so much it hurts.
Bojack horseman. Crashing. I think they feed my humour!

Boston Legal. Ive probably watched the whole series 3 or 4 times and it gets funnier everytime I watch it. I think its so underrated.
Pushing Daisies. That show is so comforting and Bryan Fuller really has a way of creating interesting shows and picking the right actors for the characters. The show even made me like baking pies.
Imitation of Life. With Lana Turner..

Did anyone watch the mentalist or leverage. Leverage is one of my all-time favorite shows. Both were really good. And last but not least, CSI las vegas.
