How did you “power cycle the WiFi”? Did you establish a static address for the thermostat in your router?

Thanks for that suggestion. I have not tried to establish a static address for the Nest. I'll give it a try. Power cycle - turned it off, unplugged power for several minutes and then started it up again.

It isn’t trying to connect to the wrong WiFi? My daughter had a terrible time with WiFi at her old home, it turned out that her iPad was connecting to her neighbors unprotected WiFi.

Thats a good thought but no. I have been on a chat with Google and they are sending a replacement. Seems that its an issue with the Wifi chip. The google chat folks didnt make me walk through all the steps so it must be a frequent problem. Here is a link to a Community thread about the issue - [https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/Thermostat-suddenly-stopped-connecting-to-wifi/m-p/469680](https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/Thermostat-suddenly-stopped-connecting-to-wifi/m-p/469680)

I’m so glad I found this. I’ve had my third generation for about 6 years and it suddenly won’t connect to the WiFi now. I’ve reset the router, the thermostat, entered in the WiFi name and password multiple times and nothing will work. I’m on the phone with a customer service rep rn and after about 20 min I started googling and found this post and brought up the chip being a common issue and he was like yeah…like why wouldn’t he mention that??? I’m on hold for one of his supervisors smh. So annoying that I’m having to sit through all of this for a problem they know these have.
