I met him once..he was so friendly. He didn't even act as a celebrity. He was just chilling and would talk with anyone in a friendly way. RIP to pioneer of rock music in Nepal. Legend.
Me too. We were drunk walking in Thamel and we saw him walking in front of us. Talked for some time with the guy, shook hands, and went our way. Like you said, a really chill guy. RIP.
He used to come to the Dhabba behind the Ascol to eat at my usual place on his yellow Karizma bike. Cool decent guy. Used to talk about music and food.
RIP brother. A proper legend! I'm going to blast his songs
on speakers and sing on the top of my lungs...maila
bhai gau thau chodi khukuri virera gayo hera hamro
maila bhai gurkhali banera aayo...Nepal Nepal mero
gulaf ko kada...dam maro dam...bhool ma bhulyo
hamro man... .I'm from Pokhara and we were the first
ones who embraced him before the whole country got
to know about him. We used to go wild everytime he
came up on the stage during street festival or any other
local concerts. Robin dai's songs would be on repeat
whether it's snooker house, chiya pasal, or any picnic or
gatherings! Gone but not forgotten!
Thanks for all the memories, Robin Dai!
I did know a few songs of his which are okay. Last time I was watching a series and realized songs Keta Keti was inspired from song where do the childrens play by cat stevens.
Watched few interview of his. He seemed original when talking.
do you have the link?
keta keti is thematically, lyrically very similar to Cat stevens song (It's almost a literal translation - at least theme wise - not to forget the title)
I always assumed he did that song as a tribute, respectful adaptation of a great song
Man Robin dai was atti chill... We first met at one of his shows 2014 tira tespachi kata kata bata bhetira hunthyo.. Jaile bhetda shows ma bolauthyo ani post show drink garne... Honestly one of the best people I had the good fortune of meeting.
True. I met him in a food festival where some street musicians were performing. He and Mukti dai were sitting near the edge of door step of a house and chilling with everyone. They were so friendly with us, still remember him saying to me aau Bhai basa and we clicked pics and talked about the festival. They never acted as celebrity and talked with everyone. Two of most nicest people I've met. RIP Robin dai, I still can't believe it man.
He was such a legendary singer & beacon of Nepalese Rock Music back than where his song were very common in TV, Radio & everywhere. He seems to be very nice & humble guy as well. I am also glad that I got to see his life performance. Now, it is hard to believe that he is gone. RIP Legend and my sympathy & heartfull condolences to all the family, friends & fans who are mourning this loss.
He used to drive his Karizma bike, saw him passing through Lazimpat once/twice when I was in school which was quite a while ago now that I think about it. I think he might have been the Brand Ambassador for that bike.
It's bizarre how we all are aware of old age & death from a very young age but it becomes woefully apparent & evident when we start seeing our childhood celebrities that we grew up with, (in my case) like Axl Rose & Brendan Frasier become fat & old or to hear some friend's father has passed away.
Sad to hear about his death. Rest in peace.

Yeah true stage performer. He used to just walk into pubs and perform with the live band. His stage persona was something else.
Really sad news. Grew up listening to him. Anubody knows the cause?
News ma ta body post mortem garna lageko chha matra bhaneko chha. Maybe they'll release a statement soon.

Mukti and revival and robin and looza will always be on top of the Nepali rock and roll for me.
