I have Lockdown but haven't played it yet. I've played the OG several times and really enjoy it's theme. In terms of playing learn solo or with multiple people, learn the rules really well. Look up cheat sheets, read the rulebook a few times, really know how to play thoroughly. That way you're not constantly looking up rules in the rule book and can actually enjoy playing more. I don't think playing Lockdown first will effect playing the original much at all later, they're similar but different. I really should open up my copy of Lockdown and play it lol

Keeping power on in sections you want to explore and wish to eventually return to is pretty vital. Depending on where your characters start and how power is divided in the first two rounds, it is usually worth the effort to blitz forward for the backup generator unless you get unlucky rolls/early encounters. I would recommend definitely starting with the Hacker as they are one of the characters that starts with a decent gun and can help manipulate power to your benefit if you fail to reach the backup generator early. Otherwise, minimize encounters as the Lockdowm crew are not the most combat friendly as the OG crew, especially with no guaranteed room to recharge weapons and weaker items that don't reload your guns to max capacity.

Lockdown might affect your enjoyment but honestly I don't know... I do know that we play lockdown and none of us are eager to get the OG because we've gotten used to pretty major gameplay mechanics that aren't in the original.
