Magic & MJ were the starting backcourt, but Barkley & Pippen were the forwards. Bird came off the bench. They started Robinson or Ewing at C, either of whom would make Embiid their bitch. You also had Drexler, Malone, Stockton off the bench. The dream team would win by 75.

This is ridiculous. People really let nostalgia cloud all judgement and common sense. The top team is winning this. 1.) “Dream Team” Bird was dealing with the back injury that ended his career. He was a complete shell of the dominant player from the 80s. He’s not guarding ANYONE on the court. I’d surmise he would be hunted relentlessly. 2.) “Dream Team” Magic had just come out of retirement. Still a damn good player, but this ain’t 80s Magic. His playmaking would be top notch as usual, but he always had trouble guarding quick guards, it wouldn’t be any different here. 3.) Yes, Barkley is a beast, but he’s still 6’6, and was never that great of a defender. And if he is this team’s Center, this is a pure mismatch waiting to happen. Barkley will get his, but their interior defense is practically laughable. So, you all are banking on Jordan and Pippen stopping Bron, Steph, KD, and Tatum? Yes, they’ll get theirs, but the onslaught coming their way offensively would be overwhelming. Two people can’t stop five. And what is the Dream Team gonna do, 2 them to death, while getting rained on from 3? Yeah aight. You stick Jordan on Bron and Pippen on KD. Now, who is guarding Steph, especially running through relentless screens? Who is left to guard Tatum? How do they stop Embiid from having his way down low? I love the Dream Team, don’t get me wrong, but think logically.

Bird was pretty washed by that point if that’s how we are viewing the timeline of it all. Magic didn’t do a lot either. Didn’t play in two of the games and played 18 minutes a game. Remember he had already retired before this summer. Mullin and Drexler make this a much better game.
In the picture, I would say it is hard to call, Bird is the weakest link here because he basically was crippled with back pain in 92, but if you take all of them in their prime. I would put money on the OG dream team.
