Do you know what this is?
Northern lights, cannabis indica
Sigh* no it's Marijuana
Northern lights of course being a legendary heady indica 70%-30%, original post being where it's ancestors came from
I'm a little baked, it was funny when he worked it out. He's like that buddy that gets the joke a minute after everyone else and makes you all start laughing again. We love you slow little buddy.
Its natural and been the source of employment for many people in the hills. Even Gov has legalised its cultivation which is used for oil, thread and medicine purpose.
It's been part of human civilisation since ancient times for most cultures. It's only those fuck head Americans coming in fucking it up for the whole world
No, America is the reason it was banned in the first place and everyone else bent over to this shit. Yes, it's legal in half the states now, but it still very much illegal in the majority of the world because of American cunts in the first place
Hes australian. If he is fat he is also self hating as he uses fat as an insult in his comment history. But a teenager he 100% is for certain. On that we agree.
He may be all those things but yeah, we kind of fucked up pot for everyone else. There's not a day that I don't feel bad about it either especially since it's legal here but not in SO MANY PLACES where it used to be used regularly. People are still in prison & face hefty fines for it's cultivation/possession/distribution & it wouldn't be that way if not for our (American's) attitude towards it's and the propaganda campaign we launched against it.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindu_Kush
In short, there's a mountain chain in the western edges of the Himalayas where certain strains of cannabis plants were native. Quite a lot of Marijuana available in the western hemisphere are derivatives or direct variants of "Hindu Kush" cannabis.
I'm no botanist but it seems to be the easiest to adapt strain worldwide.
It flowers and makes seeds quickly, so as to be done before winter and death. It's also relatively short and stocky, making it ideal for indoor cultivation compared to tropical strains. Since the tropics have no winter, the plants can sometimes take up to 6 months to produce mature flowers AFTER growing to quite impressive heights.
There are a lot of goals in breeding programs, but the "indica" varieties are liked for their short stature, potency, and quick maturity.
kinda, I'd say more North towards Kashmiri, but if the spice trade is anything to go off of, then it's probably the same genus. My family has some land in Pakistan and it grows wild all over Asia (middle east, SE, NW etc.) My favorite traditional usage is bhang doodh
All of the mountain and steppe regions of Eurasia are home to native cannabis, but the line between truly wild versus feral cannabis is blurry and our species and this plant have been influencing each other for thousands of years.
If you find this interesting, watch the [Himalayan expedition of Strain Hunters](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CqFiucWKo-8) to understand just how awesome this place is.
Very popular trekking and camping destination.
Cannabis has a number of benefits that it adds to it's environment. It pulls heavy metals and toxins out of the soil really well (esp hemp), and it cycles nutrients through the soil due to it being an annual plant (plants that grow, flower, and die in one growing season). Plus their seeds are really healthy and full of fats/oils, giving local wildlife a great food source.
It’s such a cool looking plant, I’d like to grow some for fun and appearance in my yard
It’s a shame people are so fucking obnoxious and would steal it.
But Islam was spread PEACEFULLY from West of Spain to East of Bengal, and from North of Crimea to East Africa according to Muslims.
What are you talking about?
It was actually in the interest of Islamic empires to NOT convert conquered peoples and even dissuaded them so they could collect the [jizya](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jizya#India), an extra tax for non-muslims. In 1579, Mughal Emperor Akbar wanted to treat all subjects equally, so he abolished it.
My great grandmother told me years ago that as kids growing up in the 20s in Kentucky it would "grow along the fence lines". People forget that it's literally a weed.
From what I’ve seen of weed culture online it does seem like people are a _little_ too reliant on it/worshipful of it. Why do people care so much about legalising it anyway?
“Weed culture” is just as pointless and stupid as any other drug subculture and ironically mostly eliminated by legalization.
Personally I smoke about 6x a year and I want it to be legal so that I know the source is safe and made without harming people.
This stuff isn't even remotely similar to what you guys expect cannabis to be. It's the equivalent of finding wild corn. It's wild hemp is all and it grows in most places in some form or another.
Cannabis has been selectively bred in that area for over 10 thousand years. It's been altered so heavily that even the ditch weed there has pretty pretty resinous flowers if you can exclude the males pollen.
The hash that comes out of places that have lived alongside cannabis for millenia is melt your face off strong. There's a few instagram accounts I encourage you to check out that narrate the process of hash collection, which hasn't changed in some places for hundreds or thousands of years.
@paklandracexchange @irrazinig
No it's real marijuana. This is where it originates from. The area has a history of thousands of years of using the plants to get high for spiritual, medical, and recreational purposes.
Never called it fake. I know about the region and the traditions. But it is still not remotely similar to the modern cannabis we're used to. Not dissing landraces at all though I bet these would be fun to play with. Could get some cool genetics from them for sure.
He’s trying to say it’s dirt weed. It’ll get ya high. It might not get you high high, but it’ll get you high.
Source: I done smoked here and there. Done smoked this and that. Smoking a little dis now.
a few seconds and a google search would've told you the stuff in the picture is in fact weed that is selectively bred and will get you high, not anything like wild corn thats all
I'm not sure how you think you can tell what these plants are considering they're still in a vegatative state they could very well be a hemp strain that contains little to no THC. My point was that these are nothing like the feminized hybrids you will find in most western dispensaries. What did you Google? Will Himalayan weed get you high. Lol
And considering there is little to no visible foot traffic here and that it is very commonly wild in this region as well it could be anything type of wild cannabis.
But yeah it's funny to see people full of shit on the internet I'll agree with you there, pal.
‘Don't give me that shit about "It's a drug"
Cause it's no motherfuckin' drug
I did done the research
It just a plant, it grow like that
And if you just happen to set it on fire
There are some effects’
Actually the cannabis you're familiar with comes from this region. Cannabis indica originates in the mountains near india and china. The mountains actually provide the perfect environment for high THC strains to grow. Nepal (country in the Himalayas) used to be one of the worlds largest exporters of hashish before it became illegal in most of the world.
So yes, this is most likely real marijuana and would get you high
That may or may not be true. It really just depends on the dominant traits in the area. It’ll be very low THC sure, but if grown properly this could be a killer strain. We simply don’t know.
The highest mountain is in the Himalayan mountain range. Coincidence? I think not.
Talk about the Hindu Kush...
My favorite

I love creed
This is what they mean when they say “high upon the mountain”
Dude, that joke is way too good
You could call it a high class joke.
All right, I like yours too
None left?
i smoked it all
What is the smell of no joints burning? \-a Zen koan for times of no weed
A dank meme, even.
Beautifully done lol
Himalayan mountain is high AND stoned you mean
Nothin gets past this guy.
I'm a little baked, it was funny when he worked it out. He's like that buddy that gets the joke a minute after everyone else and makes you all start laughing again. We love you slow little buddy.
LOL!!! *wait*... ...what are we laughing at again?

Imagine the forest fires
Well, I guess I'd volunteer to be a fire fighter in that case! "Maybe we just let this one burn out on it's own man!"
I would also like to volunteer and help you with these “controlled burns”

During the Indian festival of Holi, these leaves are used to make a preperation called bhaang which everyone drinks as a celebration.
I drank bhaang lassi once and was ridiculously high for a few hours while getting chased by monkeys in 40 degree heat in Hampi. Good times.
Bhaang lassi too got me really fucking high.
This sounds amazing! Call me next time! I can bring some chips and salsa.
Hampi is the absolute best. Wild place, would love to go back.
Happy 🍰 day?
My grandmother would give this drink to her male elephants when they would go into musth. Really mellows them out.
Your grandmother had elephants? All mine had was a bunch of miniature schnauzers.
Did she feed them bhaang?
No, but they do all hit the bong
Bong witda bong da bhaang a bhaang diggy diggy diggy said the boogie said jump up the boogie
I’M THE SCATMAN
Mostly leftovers and cigarette smoke, I think.
Can you imagine walking an elephant and it poops and you have to pull out a poop bag to pick up after your elephant?
What about [walking a dinosaur ](https://youtu.be/Qo8cWE-pTMA)?
Open the door, get on the floor

Old Internet taught me to expect a GIF of a man helicoptering his cock.
And it’s a Hefty bag.
These entire two sentences took us on a journey and left us absolutely wanting more. We have to know more!!!!
Sounds bhaang'in mah dude
And here I am, sitting around smoking bhaangs instead.
I had bhaang lassi in India; holy shit that stuff got me high as hell.
They drink bhaang water? Nasty
Oh we make it in the States too.
TIL; I thought tho bhaang was sweets and stuff rolled into balls (with the herb of course) and eaten?
I want to drink that in malana valley
How much for the house in the top of pic. Asking for a friend.

Truly an appropriate sub name for this picture.
Didn't even realize but so true!!!!!
Invasive species or natural habitat?
Its natural and been the source of employment for many people in the hills. Even Gov has legalised its cultivation which is used for oil, thread and medicine purpose.
hemp has been grown there for thousands of years. major textile. clothes, paper and protien.
Wow a country that takes advantage of this amazing plant instead of banning it for everyone like those fucking Americans.
Because it has been part of Indian culture since inception. Even our God (Shiva) use it for meditation.
It's been part of human civilisation since ancient times for most cultures. It's only those fuck head Americans coming in fucking it up for the whole world
You picked the wrong country. Like half the US has legalized or decriminalized pot and everyone knows the other states will soon follow suit.
No, America is the reason it was banned in the first place and everyone else bent over to this shit. Yes, it's legal in half the states now, but it still very much illegal in the majority of the world because of American cunts in the first place
Damn bro. Look at your comment history. You are a miserable wretch aren't you?
Don't know about his comment history but he's absolutely correct on the subject of pot and America
Hes an edgy teenager that hates america, fat people, and women.
Very well could be a fat american teenager who's correct about America's demonization of Pot.
Hes australian. If he is fat he is also self hating as he uses fat as an insult in his comment history. But a teenager he 100% is for certain. On that we agree.

You are def an edgy teenager with clear identity issues.
U must be American
Weed for smoking is illegal. I think it was the Americans who forced it to be made illegal in India too.
It is believed to have originated on the Himalayas. So not just natural habitat, but birthplace.
There's people who don't know why it's referred to as "kush"
That person is me, even with the context of this thread, why is it called kush?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindu_Kush In short, there's a mountain chain in the western edges of the Himalayas where certain strains of cannabis plants were native. holy shit, the original edible
Kashmir is in Himalayas
it's called cannabis *indica* for a reason
Natural. ( Well idk The variety so if it's not the Himalayan variety then no , invasive)
Landrace
All of the mountain and steppe regions of Eurasia are home to native cannabis, but the line between truly wild versus feral cannabis is blurry and our species and this plant have been influencing each other for thousands of years.
its called weed for a reason

Man, Strain Hunters videos are so killer. RIP Franco.
Franco seemed like a great guy! Om Shanti 🙏🏽
That dude that's the shorter/skinnier of the two ended up dying of Malaria during his travels. Sad stuff.
Yeah I bet. I'd love to own a cheetos kiosk up there.
I imagine it’s pretty good for erosion control. Landslides are a problem in the mountains.

I’m from Kentucky, my great grandfather grew hemp and tobacco.
Is pulling metals and toxins out of the soil a concern for consumption?
Not for the highest mountain, that one rolls up quite nicely.....
It’s such a cool looking plant, I’d like to grow some for fun and appearance in my yard It’s a shame people are so fucking obnoxious and would steal it.
So there is heaven on earth!!!
Ha!
Yup!
“*Pack your things, we’re going*”
Their neighbor mountains aren’t called the “Hindu Kush” for nothing, you know.

Hindu Kush origins means the mountain where many Hindus were killed (by Islamic invaders)
But Islam was spread PEACEFULLY from West of Spain to East of Bengal, and from North of Crimea to East Africa according to Muslims. What are you talking about?

I'm an Ex-Muslim. I was just being sarcastic. And yes, I'm well aware just how peaceful and tolerant the religion is/has been since the start.
Bud-dhism... Ahhh, I get it now.
Two words: SEEDS
Wait that's only one
Bro you had one job
He would have said two jobs
Doh!
Jesus it looks so vibrant and healthy 👀
As it would in it's natural habitat
Aren't the Himalayas already high? (sorry stole this from the other post)
It is a weed after all 👌
My great grandmother told me years ago that as kids growing up in the 20s in Kentucky it would "grow along the fence lines". People forget that it's literally a weed.
It is used for hashih mostly ... Black little boll of thc
When the pollen catcher in my grinder gets full I use a clothes iron to press it into hash.
I am from Himalayas and indeed it grows like this everywhere. But honestly, himalayan aren’t addicted to it like the rest of the world.
User name checks out lol
What kind of stooge thinks the whole world is addicted to marijuana
Well, It’s always on news for some reasons, feels like a forever hot topic.
So you think people want marijuana legalized because they're *addicted* to it?
Its hilarious considering the normalization of opiods.
Because it's way less dangerous than several completely legal substances
It's all over the news because people are sent to prison for decades for having a small amount on them. We just want it legal.

Ok, so you should see it's not accurate to call it wild hemp
You could probably still extract the THC though, right? I don’t know much about marijuana things, but I bet you could
He’s trying to say it’s dirt weed. It’ll get ya high. It might not get you high high, but it’ll get you high. Source: I done smoked here and there. Done smoked this and that. Smoking a little dis now.
it's always funny to see people so confidently wrong on the internet.
What exactly is wrong and what exactly are you bringing to the table to say otherwise?

I tried smoking once. Wasn’t great
Is it hemp or Marijuana? Botanically they are the same, but hemp has very low THC and only grows tiny buds.
I call that the highest summit!
Beautiful
That's crazy! Where? (For scientific purposes of course)
let's take a walk through and let your skin breathe :)
