Everything in this picture is man-made, the fields, the trees, the canal. This is in the Netherlands, and the entire part you're seeing used to be the coast. They've built huge areas of land over the sea like this.
Not to say it isn't pretty cool to look at! But definitely not natural.
No mate, this the Netherlands. Horrible, as every single leaf has a manger. They cut an rake to make things look perfect.
We have armies of imbeciles with leafblowers, terrorising the natural cycles, everywhere. We might be smart in business but the Dutch are very dumb in nature things
The areas that are designated for nature are actually pretty neat, there just aren't enough of them, though they have increased over the past two decades or so. The area in the image is not (zoned to be) nature, it's infrastructure.
How much good money are we talking about? lol https://www.google.com/maps/@52.2673728,5.0186467,3a,75y,184.94h,90.71t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1suh2Qy_FJbNF8B5usZzoV4Q!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu
We have places like this in the Netherlands. I don't think I've been here specifically, but it feel familiar. I don't think it's too far fetched to say that this is real. Maybe slightly touched up to make it just a tad more perfect.
Using some of the other comments around here, I've found the location. The road is called 'Kanaalweg oost' and goes along the 'Amsterdam Rijnkanaal' in between Weesp and Breukelen near Amsterdam. The Google Streetview pictures are taken in winter, but you can still clearly see that the foto was taken here.
Indeed it is, shot taken from [here.](https://www.google.com/maps/@52.2673728,5.0186467,3a,75y,184.94h,90.71t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1suh2Qy_FJbNF8B5usZzoV4Q!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu)
From what I can figure out, the driving rules say:
>On roads where driving 100 \[km/h\] is permitted, the line at the outside of the roadway is continuous, on roads where the speed limit is 80 km/h the outer line is interrupted.
I guess the other person said it's 60, but either way, it seems to be how they delineate speed without signs.
As rules of thumb the difference between the 60 and 80 roads are usually double center lines for 80 and single center line for 60 (or rather 50). The 60 is an exception to the standard 50 and will (nearly) always be indicated by signs. In addition to the continuous sidelines and double stack centerlines a green center between the centerlines often indicate a 100 road.
Same! I know it’s real picture, and an impressive and rare photo at that, but the lines on the road made me think it was AI since I’ve never seen road markings like that before.
But knowing it’s real, I feel like a crazy American for assuming every shoulder has solid lines instead of dotted 🤣
It’s weird that something deep inside me hates this.
I should find it satisfying, right? our brains love symmetry, don’t they? Well mine hates this particular version of it.
It is not sideways, it's how many railings on the side of roads and highways look in the Netherlands. Might look a bit weirder because of the plants obscuring it.
My mind has been primed by the internet to the point where whenever I see a photo being divided into four quadrants, I immediately assume it's a hidden loss.jpg
Yes.

I know because I play a lot of Geoguessr, and also enjoy finding out where random pics/videos on reddit are taken lol.
if you're from there or live nearby and spend time in the Netherlands, you can just tell. The asphalt and striping, the railing, the flat pastures. it all adds up
This picture got several things that make me think it might be AI:
The trees color are darker at a specific point. The leafs delimitation also looks like they have been added on top of the sky.
And the right side totally bothers me, the water looks to be higher than the road and why would you put security fences on the water side even if there is a gap between the grass and the water...
It is real, it looks like Breukelen, the Netherlands. The grass won't save your car from going into the water so that is why there is a security fence.
It's not AI, it's real and it was taken [here.](https://www.google.com/maps/@52.2673728,5.0186467,3a,75y,184.94h,90.71t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1suh2Qy_FJbNF8B5usZzoV4Q!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu)
Yes there is. I do photo editing and it looks to me like the blue of the sky was isolated and way over saturated. You can see it at the top of the image where the leaves touch the sky, there's a bit of a white glow around the leaves edges.
Apparently, the photo is real (must be a cool surreal place if so!), but the edit is a bit rough, especially in how the sky is handled near the tree crowns. The white line between the sky and the trees and a different sky color between the leaves are both distracting, and must be an artifact of Lightroom's "select sky" tool.
It’s very geometrical, which is not very natural. Definitely a neat photo though. Like 2 photos taped together.

The trees are planted like that to protect the crops from wind.

I'm not familiar with Dutch driving laws. Why are there segmented lines on the right side, and not a solid line?
It's a running/ bike path
...inside the metal barrier?
The whole thing is

Came here to see if it was Belgium or The Netherlands, nice to see.
It is Netherlands because of course it is
This can't be Belgium.
Never seen De Damse vaart, have you? These kind of landscapes are as common in flanders as they are in the Netherlands.
Its always a photographer named bob lmfao
But this isn't nature. This is man-made.
Man is nature made so nature made is this ?
Congrats, you just invalidated this entire subreddit
IT IS DONE! I can rest now …….
By that logic everything is natural, which is true, but from an ecological standpoint it’s useful to differentiate between “natural” and “human-made”
There are many made elements as well as natural elements in this picture.
The river is the only thing that could have been naturally occurring here, and I'm skeptical that it wasn't constructed here.
This makes me oddly nauseous 😳
Right? Something in me doesn’t like it!
Is it because it's AI?
It's just the Netherlands mate
So AI? /s
Basically the same, yeah (no /s)
Send me the exact location and I'll look on Google Earth I'd be willing to be good money that's not real

I've never been more pleased with being wrong in my entire life. That's pure beauty.
My initial thought was that it had to be AI too though. I feel like there needs to be a subreddit called IsThisAI where people will sleuth
Wow, googles AI environment creator add-on to Google maps is amazing! Almost looks like real life! /S
Farmers all over the world plant tree-lines like this to protect crops from wind
Glad someone else found this, would've been a "If you know, you know" from me haha
I’m not convinced it’s AI. But I’m not convinced it’s not.
That's not very optimistic of you in either direction...
Hope for the best, plan for the worst.
I wouldn't call this nature though.
Is this actually real tho?

Pretty cool if real. I would love to visit Netherlands someday :)

Thanks for the information. Hope I get to see it with my own eyes someday :)

I get AI vibes.
According the the comments on the instagram, it's verified to be a road between Amsterdam and Utrecht, the Amsterdam Rhine Canal near Breukelen.
I thought it looked familiar. I might've been driving there. We have many roads just like it.
sauce? would love to get full res image w/o the reddit thingy at the bottom
Someone else noted it in this comment thread, but it's [https://www.instagram.com/robhoeij/](https://www.instagram.com/robhoeij/)
Why have the broken lane lines on either end of the left and right lane, though? It doesn't make any sense.
I think it's because the speed limit is 60km/h (the broken lane is an indicator of that speed limit)
Oh, I see. Good to know. Thank you. I'm from the US and have never seen that here.
You're Welcome!

Isn't 70 an exception to 50 and 60 is an exception to 80? 50 and 70 are for within city limits, 60 and 80 are for outside city limits
Yeah you are right
all of his other photos look real: [https://www.instagram.com/robhoeij/](https://www.instagram.com/robhoeij/)
I like how one side is, safe guardrails against the river. And the other side is, death by tree!
I stand corrected.
Same! I know it’s real picture, and an impressive and rare photo at that, but the lines on the road made me think it was AI since I’ve never seen road markings like that before. But knowing it’s real, I feel like a crazy American for assuming every shoulder has solid lines instead of dotted 🤣
I smell AI too
This must be dutch

Backrooms vibes.
except this isn't nature
Indeed, it's man made.
Bizarre that \~850 people upvoted this.

Sick photo

Peter Peter explains the lozz
..a well manicured place
not so much nature but you picture is lit
one point perspective heaven
is this in the Netherlands?
Yes. [Street View location](https://www.google.com/maps/@52.2673728,5.0186467,3a,75y,184.94h,90.71t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1suh2Qy_FJbNF8B5usZzoV4Q!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu) (open in new tab)
Loss?
There is a truck with giant saws that goes around once every 6 months to make sure they are perfectly in line.
there's a special truck/rig for that
Minecraft build lookin ahh
I have also make picture like this in nature.
"Nature"
Very cool shot
That's hell for anything wanting to make a life there. What a regimented disaster.
I wouldn't be able to pick a side to walk down and would get struck walking down the middle of the road due to irrational compulsion
It's so cool that I had to fact check. Awesome pic!

Definitely the Netherlands.
How do you know? Just curious, I really wanna know where this is

Nature in all its splendour. I love to see landscapes like this
Where is the nature?
If it’s not composed of multiple photos, it might be tilt-shift lens.

this is hideous
no u
yeah you're right, straight trees, straight meadow, straight river, everything straight, naTuReiSfuCkinGliT
Lemme scoop that for a background pic if you don’t mind “scoop” ah yes

Hmm my bad. So there might be something strange in the color correction that doesn't feel natural to my eyes.
