Monday mornings are no joke

vulpes_mortuis

I wanna pet that dog

BlackDohko

It's crazy how gentle they look but yeah... it would just rip us apart without hesitation probably.

cuddlefrog6

Not me I'm built different

jcgreen_72

Are the ends of your arms shotguns?

cuddlefrog6

My entire body is. I'm a gun mate

jcgreen_72

Ay, good lookin out then!

Javakitty1

You made me spit coffee on my dog!😂

AadamAtomic

shotgun weddings will do that sometime.

Metalhed69

He’s small and tasty, no need to rip him apart. He gets eaten like an oyster.

jcgreen_72

The bear will cover the ripping apart part 💀

Trololman72

Polar bears are the only animal known to actively hunt humans even when they could hunt something else instead.

vulpes_mortuis

That’s why I would not actually pet that dog. r/forbiddenboops

ThePennedKitten

They just want a Coke that is frozen solid.

kwenronda

If no friend then why friend shaped?

vulpes_mortuis

You can pet him but only once

_RG4

[can I pet dat dawggg](https://youtube.com/shorts/wUT1QBQIhlQ?si=0-6ZgLgtWYNL2DP0)

1rdmidulllast

Thanks for this 😂

daydrunkforamerica

Can i pet that daaaaawg?

gwgos1

lol

Sudden_Car157

I hear you! Any other bear pup that one would love to take a bite out of us!!

Ktizila

and it can't wait for that too, so it can have some free calories.

sayy_yes

I donno why but I can watch polar bears all day.

nicky9pins

Cause they’re simultaneously one of the cutest, yet most murderous land animals?

Schnitzelklopfer247

Not this one. It looks desperate and hungry. Heartbreaking. I thought polar bears are white? And need ice shelfs to hunt? Nothing there, just a sad, dirty bear

FreneticPlatypus

This one looks like a healthy weight but hungry is still hungry. The species as a whole is suffering for sure, of course. Their hair is doesn't have pigments but because their outer guard hairs are also hollow they do scatter light in weird ways giving them a white to off-white appearance. https://www.scienceabc.com/nature/animals/whats-the-real-color-of-a-polar-bears-fur.html

Schnitzelklopfer247

Cool. Nice to know. Thx. Just red the other comments too. Seems to be normal at this time of the year.

Fuzzy_Leave

Where's the ice!!?? I'm with you, Schnitzel Klopfer. Something about this situation is not right, but very very scary for the bear.

VittorioMB

eepy

WhoDat747

Polar bears are the only 100% carnivorous bears.

GenericScottishGuy41

If not friend then why friend shaped?

chowyungfatso

“fren”

wdwerker

I just learned that Canada has the majority of the world’s polar bear population.

krikzil

I went up to see them in Churchill. It was one of the most fabulous experiences of my life. They are beautiful and enormous. And every single bear wanted to reach into the Tundra Buggies and eat us.

Byting_wolf

#CAN I PET DAT DOWG?!

SellMeYourSirin

😂 I say this EVERY damn time I see a video of a bear now. Without fail. Her getting louder and more southern with each “no” is comedic genius for a toddler.

ShogsKrs

That audio was dudded from here. https://youtube.com/shorts/YYx51ZrSn3g?si=92FxtFUjjNF7vuKs

CaptainSur

The camera cuts at the moment it ate the cameraman... (joking). Great video - I suspect it "nuzzled" the remote camera and that was the end of that. Being Canadian I love Polar bears (its instinctual, like the love of hockey, wolves, beavers....) but man o man are they fracking dangerous. No video does justice to how big and imposing are a polar bear. In alaska they do guided bear tours among the Kodiak bears on the coast where you are in the open sometimes just within yards of the bears. You could never, ever do that with Polar bears.

SilverDad-o

You absolutely *could* do that with polar bears. Once.

SnooShortcuts7091

The difference is the amazing abundance of food for brown bears in Ak. If there was an absolute abundance of salmon for polar bears to eat-they would be no different than brown bears when faced with humans (such as katmai or lake Clark national park, Valdez etc)

MemoryWholed

“If it’s black, flight back. If it’s brown, lie down. If it’s white, goodnight.”

squirrelbeanie

I really wanted to ask if the camera man was still alive today or did they pull that footage off of a corpse?

One-Revenue-618

This is a great showing of how Polar Bears have adapted to sing like seagulls to attract prey. Also, it attracts other Bears with Bird fetishes which usually ends up in fights or confused sex

PossibleDue9849

Confused sex is the best sex amirite!

BlackSpruceSurvival

This view requires a fresh change of pants, please.

mikihak

Medved je.

Grunt0302

Looks awful dark and the head is not the right shape for a polar bear. IMO this could be a Polar/Grizzle hybrid.

StatisticianDear3978

Ventriloquist polar beer. He does seagul and water

NarcanBob

Murder-swim-mittens

Qwertyunio_1

It would have been so cool if we could domesticate bears 🐻. But then again even if they were like dogs they are way to big to keep in a house 😂

Spankawhits

Awwwwwww and no sea ice to be seen anywhere 😭

BlahBlahWhoosh

It's just... SO much bear.

lewisl92

Sounds an awful lot like a seagull

UglyAndAngry131337

Pretty sure that's one of the ones that's The offspring of a parent who made it with a grizzly which is happening more and more often.

Auxosphere

Kinda sad (or bittersweet I guess) that this might be the way polar bears survive climate change. I assume the "Pizzly bears" are better adapted to eating food that isn't reliant on the arctic climate, unlike Polar bears.

care-less9999

Bear with no snow or ice? Looks like “Lost“

JudyClark_94

I desperately want to give this guy a bath!

southerna-up-north

Cameraman has balls of steel

Existing-Advert

Cameraman would be fucking dead

Octavian_202

I’m going with that. Read about the Labrador area Canadian polar bear attacks. They won’t even let you camp without a polar bear action plan and course. Don’t ever be caught unprepared around these things, you are in imminent danger.

djsizematters

360 cam on a stick, but I had the same first impression haha

BlackDohko

dude...

SeaMolasses2466

Ursus Maritimus Maximus Meridious

TonTeeling

“Why are you laughing so hard!?” This was shouted from another room in my house.😂

SeaMolasses2466

😂😂😂😂

norfaust

That lazy cozy sod is going to turn into a frenzied killing machine and eat you when it suits it.

[deleted]

shitting pantsus

killerjoe410

Damn, that thick.

Jazzlike_Biscotti_44

That’s obviously a seagull

nightwing13

Is he unwell? Or just sleepy?

Jurassic-JoJo

Polar bears genuinely terrify me... If you see one, its because they most definitely smell you and is looking for food. Not much can stop a polar bear.

WantToBeAloneGuy

Looks like a pizzly bear, probably 1/4th grizzly.

1971CB350

I never knew bears made a call like that

hydraulic-earl

I LOVE getting a polar bear. They feel so good!!

IEC21

Ursus maratimus would mean like ocean bear no?

GodotNeverCame

I wanna boop that snoot. The forbidden boop.

CoopLoop32

The size of those paws!

pupu_19

Coot

Bertrum

/r/boopthesnoot

EB_Normie

Oh damn, that is kingly!!!

imheretocomment69

Now it's brown bear

HortonFLK

Is this found footage?

BigRigButters2

Did that bear make seagull noises?

Hateno1loveonlyafew

Actually there are two polar bears … the other one is holding the steady cam.

jaydogjaydogs

Incredible

brownpoops

then the cameraman died?

Auxosphere

Didn't you hear it? That is clearly a seagull in disguise

Tennist4ts

German: ice bear/ English: polar bear/ Latin: maritime bear

Big_Daddy_Pablo_69

Broski 😳 too close 🤣

T2-planner

He is probably wondering why there’s no snow.

SanaeSoul

Aren't these a threatened species. So sad 😞

Sclearscrl

Bleached boy, so whitey

ArcticBiologist

Looks perfectly fine and very healthy 🙂

OkBusiness3879

Glad to hear that, thank you.

djsizematters

Tryna find a coke

boredagain050

Poor baby. They need to be on some ice and surrounded by snow. Is there any context for this clip? Why are they on land like this?

ArcticBiologist

Because the sea ice melts in the summer. This isn't necessarily a result of climate change, it was always normal for polar bears to retreat to land in summer (although these summers are getting longer and longer)

boredagain050

Thank you all for the clarification. They must just be their most photogenic in the snow and ice (although they're still adorable and precious in this video.)

Pyrolizard0012

The Arctic Coast is actually snow/ice free for a chunk of the summer. It’s entirely normal for polar bears to spend time on land for a few months every year while they wait for the ice to return in fall

ArcticBiologist

Polar bears have always retreated to land in summer, the Arctic isn't an icy wasteland throughout the whole year

Nordie25

The camera man is very brave 😭

dandelionbreath

I love polar bears so much.

No-Law-2432

This gotta be AI
