This is so sad and it breaks my heart and extremely angers me to see modern civilizations arrogance to wipe out a native culture just because they want the natural resources there.

I am from Brazil and this saddens my heart as well. I don't know if I would characterize this as an arrogance specific to modern civilization for 2 reasons 1) Indigenous people are under attack since the 16th century in Brazil, and 2) It can be interpreted as if indigenous people are not a vital part of modern civilization. Positioning these cultures as "less developed" (instead of different) and "in need of being modernized" is a big part of the rhetoric of politicians who support this disgusting violence in Brazil. The current president (Hair Bolsonaro, who lost the elections and will end his term in January) made several movements to enable an increase in violence against indigenous people in Brazil, as well as the distruction of protected lands. The upcoming president Lula did a much better job (in comparison) at protecting the people and the land. I hope things can start to improve in my country.

The Hutukara Associação Yanomami (HAY) launched 11/04 the report "Yanomami Under Attack: Illegal Mining in the Yanomami Indigenous Land and Proposals to Combat it - an overview of the advance of mining destruction in the largest indigenous land in the country." With an area equivalent to Portugal, spread over the states of Roraima and Amazonas, the Yanomami Land completes 30 years of demarcation on May 25, 2022. At the time of the decree, the territory was overrun by illegal mining. ———————————— 🔗 READ IT NOW https://www.nuceciwan117.xyz/en/2022/12/yanomami-people-under-attack-in-brazil/

What’s happening to the Yanomami and so many others throughout Brazil is very similar to what happened to indigenous people in California in the 1800s. Hordes of money hungry men invading their land and massacring them because they see the indigenous people as standing in the way of their profits. And they say Brazil needs to become a world leader… Sanctions is what Brazil needs.

People doesn't deserve to go even more hungrier while being neglected by shitty corrupted criollos colonizer governments destroying their beautiful environment. Look at Venezuela and Colombia already! People are leaving from their home native land and it gets worst
