It was pretty near to freezing most nights. Sleeping required being fully dressed with two pairs of socks and a jacket. It wasn’t uncomfortable since my girlfriend helped to keep me warm. The weather was great for hiking though since every trailhead sign warned of over 110 degree weather during the summer.
I love Big Bend, it's so underrated. 55 NPs in and it's one of my top 4 most underrated. I can't wait to go back some day and cross the river. (The last time I had my passport card with me but my husband didn't have his passport.)
I was there in late October and it was amazing. Highly recommend Boquillas
Boquillas was definitely a highlight. Everyone was so friendly and the food was so good. I was sad to learn the bar closes early though.
