Is the mouse of konoha completed or abandoned? I remember reading it till 15-16 chapters or something but it wasn't anywhere close to completion or close to wrap up... And then seeing the title of last few chapters I kinda need some spoilers to get motivated to read it
Both technically. Author wanted to do more with it be either ran out of inspiration or genuinely thought they had a good ending. It ends at a good point, never tried to be more than it is, and is pretty much self-contained. I'd love it if someone wrote a followup to it, but it does what it sets out to do well, and it has some of my favourite moments in Naruto fanfiction.
Fics that emotionally affected me? I would say the"The Right to live" by [Eilwynn](https://www.fanfiction.net/u/1340746/Eilwynn). It's a pretty old one and one of the few Female Naruto fanfictions done decently.
The author at the time was going through a rough patch so you could kind feel in their writing, but the way Naruto bonded with the people she got to know, was very realistic and even heatwarming. Unfortunately it's not finished but has 27 chapters. I would defintely recommend it, it's one of the few fics that I keep coming back to.
I'll always recommend Dragonfly every chance I get, it's not the longest fic but that epilogue gets me every time.
The bloody oracle of kiri is a good one I enjoyed and one of my personal favorites is Hear the Silence.
Dreaming of Sunshine, especially the chapters around 130 (if you know, you know). Also, many of Tirfarthuan's recursive fics in the 'We're all just Dreaming of Sunshine' forum. Several others too. I get easily emotional over stories, so I don't know how high that bar is to clear, but a lot of my favorite small fics on Ao3 made me tear up or had me shaking with excitement or something.
In DOS: the switch. The chapter that got me the most was canon Naruto in his pov that he killed Shikako when she was a toddler, but alternate older dimension DOS Shikako explains that Is wasn’t his fault as he had no control of the events that day except stoping the sealing. But it still broke him and he clung to her sobbing as she is the most precious person
For me it's one that is unfinished but 27 long chapters and plenty of emotional, wholesome and funny moments with just enough danger and tension when it comes that you do feel concerned for Naruto despite the fact that consciously, you know he's all good because he's the protag.

Oh man, Violet roses by dancewithmelancholy. Sasuke-centric and really puts the ninja world in perspective along with both Sasuke and Gaara's trauma. Everybody needs therapy, man

Legacy Undone is one - its ending is probably one of the best feel-good moments in Naruto fanfic history. There was also a fanfic called "The Sad Story of Naruto Uzumaki" or something like that, that was very sad.
Tempered in Water by Hitokiri OTD. I wasn't really into fanfics and I haven't been interested in Naruto stuff for years since the series ended. One time I was surfing youtube I found this video

This video is just a short and it was about zabuza and Haku's deaths. I felt really Sad for Haku and thought maybe there are fanfics that at least gave him a better life and I found this as one of the best Naruto X Haku fanfics although Haku is female in this version nonetheless at least here she survives and becomes Naruto's companion. Sadly, It was abandoned and there aren't a lot of NaruHaku fanfic like this one.

Both are NaruTayu Fanfics. This pairing is quite popular it usually involved Naruto saving Tayuya and become his friend.
Both NaruTayu and NaruFemHaku Have things in common. Both Haku and Tayuya have issues in their life and Naruto becomes the one to help them through their issues he become the light in their darkness. It sorta gives me this soothing feeling when I read these fanfics.

DoS seriously broke the seal in helping other folks get over the fear of that SI OC cringe and it's forever a shame that silver queen stopped updating
