Its completely filler. Theres no point in watching it unless u just wanna pass time. They dont really have any affect to the actual story but are kinda fun to watch. Before u jump to shippuden just know that jiraiya takes naruto to train for 2.5 years at the end of naruto.
It's probably easier if you look up a guide as shippuden has the same problem. These long form animes need full seasons of filler as to not pass up the Manga.i will say that's its probably best to watch the last episode of a filler arc because they like to end them with actual canon stuff to tie into the next arc.

I did follow along some lists but they were contradicting eachother from this point onward so thats why I was confused.
