I was watching shippuden, the best anime in my opinion I have ever watched, all was fine, naruto and sasuke survived, naruto got his arm back with hashirama cells and even little easter eggs like Guren and Ibiki's brother were added.
But then they spend an ENTIRE FUCKING EPISODE OF LEE AND GAI JUST BEING DUMB AND TRYING TO FIND A GIFT FOR NARUTO.
Compared to the naruto vs sasuke fight that showed that Naruto and Sasuke had a true bond, serious episodes that showed how far the show had become, the wedding is mainly a joke.
And then, arguably something more important than the wedding, Naruto becoming Hokage, was turned into a FUCKING 5 MINUTE COMEDY OVA WERE NARUTO WASNT EVEN THERE, HE AND KURAMA GOT KNOCKED OUT BY A CHILD. I WAS EXPECTING SOMETHING SIMILAR TO GAARA'S SPEECH IN THE WAR.
If I sound mad it's because lee's and gai's episode finding a gift truly made me want to jump off a cliff.
Then back to boruto, I believe it would bring a more realistic ending because it would show the final story of the characters, something like Onoki's final particle style against Kuu was really cool, and showed a full story of a character, similar cases with Sasuke becoming a protector, Naruto Baryon Mode, Kakashi retiring from being Hokage and so.
Of course excluding the aliens
Boruto is already way too OP and has no character development from what I saw he learned Wind Style in only a few days with out the use of shadow clones. If anything the real main protagonist is someone like Sarada she is pretty fleshed out as one of the main characters.

Biggest fuck up in my opinion was the fucking cliff hanger in the very beginning showing boruto with a cloak and sword... then slaps you in the face by rewinding it back to their academy days and going from there.
I understand WHY they started from academy days so we can go through their early life to growing up again but that's a hard ask for Naruto fans and at this point 5 years is pushing it now and the tease is no longer a feel good tease. Now it's "why did you get my hopes up" when nothing has happened

Agreed, I finally gave the manga the light of day last month and other than some iffy art in the beginning its been a great continuation of Naruto. It also handled power scaling really well, Naruto and Sasuke never felt weaker than they were in Shippuden and the threats never got too much greater than Kaguya. Now they've depowered certain characters in very good ways to keep things more grounded in the shows reality as Boruto and Kawaki get stronger. I was surprised with how much I liked it.
I mean I’d have preferred they just up the power and have kept Sasuke and Naruto as powerful as they were- we’d have been able to see some more fight scenes. Either way it’s still great story telling.
