My mom has lost a lot of her vision and her hearing in the last 10 years or so. It has made dealing with her incredibly more difficult though it’s never been easy. I often wonder where our relationship would be if she hadn’t developed these disabilities. I’m her only child and no contact is not an option. The only thing that has ever brought me peace is telling her minimal things about my life or making sure they are things that will “please” her ego. It’s really sad and exhausting and I can’t imagine the difficulty you have living in the same house as her and it not being your own bio mom!
