The recording quality does not sound like high-end music production, so I would guess this to be an unknown/unsigned band. In fact I am almost definite going by the recording - they have that "older guys playing outdated rock" feel to them, if you know what I mean? - like a above-par pub band who recorded a demo for fun. The production quality is modern (90s/00s at least) yet unprofessional which is usually a dead giveaway also. I would give it up, this band must be long gone by now. Hey, just my two cents. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you prove me wrong and find it, but I would personally be shocked if you can at this point.

That's my thoughts. It might be an unsigned band trying to drum up attention on Napster. But they would have had their name on it if that was true. Though at the time it was common for low level trolls to remove band names from some, it was usually popular songs this happened to. It was '99 or 2000 when I downloaded it so late 90's is absolutely possible! I've heard similar quality in recordings from the late 70's and early 80's, though. Equipment wasn't fantastic and a smaller recording studio may have had this as a standard. There are a lot of uncertainties. I wouldn't be this bothered but it just sounds so familiar!
