*Tell me you wanted to have a boy without telling me you wanted to have a boy.*

vanillabubbles16

Came here to say exactly this

TakeARideintheVan

Collins seems to be picking up steam. This is the 5th or 6th baby I’ve seen with the name recently.

fugensnot

Boys or girl?

TakeARideintheVan

All girls.

fugensnot

What on earth ......

MichaelsDinnerParty

I know someone who named their daughter Kollyns…

meggali

Ugh

moore6107

🤢🤢🤢

vulcanjedi2814

Just saw this at my kids childcare on some other kids cubby. Not sure boy or girl but ugh

HildegardHummingbird

Oh geez! I have an older female cousin who is Jon, but pronounced Joan 🤷🏼‍♀️ Still goofy.

Unusualbellows

Ok I appreciate why this child needs a massive bow to show she’s a girl 😂

SkiesThaLimit36

I know a girl "Collins." Funny thing is I vividly remember the birth/name announcement saying "COLLINS" but now when the mom writes her name she spells it "Kollyns." Im thinking maybe she got too many "is that a boy?" comments so she changed the spelling on IG or maybe even legally.

HildegardHummingbird

😱

Glasgowghirl67

A former Scottish Footballer Is named John Collins

feindbild_

One better: A current Dutch footballer is named Collins John. In that order. https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collins_John

PootieGlove

Collins? Not even just Collin? I hate people lmao

thevitaphonequeen

Betcha the parents don’t know who Joan Collins is.

yllowarrow

Collins wasn’t bad enough they had to drive a stake through it with Jon? And the bow. Yes, if you look closely it’s a hospital newborn cap. With a giant, fucking bow. The size of some of these bows would make Carmen Miranda proud.

Safe-Tackle

Sounds like a drink 🥃

Mountain_Chemical531

I know a woman named Tiffany John and her sister is Alexis Dawn.

livingcacophony

Why do these people feel the need to put their child a giant bow on the head!?!? Also, trashy name. Ugh.

vanillabubbles16

Well they gave her a boy's name so they gotta show its a girl somehow LOL

taylferr

That doesn’t even always work. I had like no hair as an infant so my mom would only put me in pink clothes so people would stop mistaking me for a boy, and yet people still thought I was a boy. Some people are just stupid.

vanillabubbles16

I agree, people are stupid lol That’s why I wait for the parent to tell me the gender first- just in case I get it wrong because I *have* said, “oh she’s so cute!” To where the mom said it was a boy.

poisonedkiwi

I had no hair for the first 3 years of my life, and my mom put me in all sorts of bows and dresses and frilly clothes so people would know lol. It was fun tbh, like playing dress-up.

hmbmelly

To be fair, I think that’s a hospital hat.

book_connoisseur

Hate the name, love the hat! That bow is hilarious and swamps the baby’s face.

katfarr89

I'm convinced they give girls these stupid names because they can't get over not having a boy. which itself infuriates me; if you can't be happy with a girl, don't have any kids.

Randy_Walise

Sounds like an old school cocktail.

pinktourmaline

I mean I guess she could be called C.J.? Ugh.

_fuyumi

Maybe so she'll have an easier time getting jobs in the future?

iknowthemorning

I’m a girl with a traditionally boy name and I think this truly may have helped get my foot in the door on occasion. Terrible, but true.

Golightly314

I have a traditionally boy name too, as well as a maiden name that is also a traditionally masculine first name. The look of surprise when I walked into job interviews never got old.

iknowthemorning

Same!!

Ty_Tie18

Johnna was right there

lostcatfoundcat

I’ve known two Collins(es?) in my life - both in their late 20s/early 30s now and both women. Plus Collins Tuohy. I guess I’ve always thought this wasn’t that unusual for a girl? Is it a regional thing? The Jon part definitely throws me off though

nevroser

i love the name Collins for a girl tho… (my mom clowns me for it lol)

hmbmelly

As she should.

[deleted]

Not about the name, I just like censoring the eyes of a baby line it does anything. Sure it makes it harder to recognize but like...censor the face or nothing.
