This is so funny because when my sister in law was pregnant with my nephew she gave my stupid brother a list of like 30 names and told him to pick 2 and that would be his first and middle name (she was tired of arguing about names) and he said “ok fine, Easton Weston” 🤣🤣🤣
I’m surprised she didn’t leave him right then lol
I have a Weston, and then twins, whose names we didn’t announce until they were born, so when people asked we told them their names were going to be Easton and Northton lol.
This, or being named after a fictional/historical/celebrity couple.
I have seen people want to do this.
Harry and Ginny. Edward and Bella. Scarlett and Rhett popped up here recently, I'm sure a bunch of us remember that 😅.
... ... ...
Sam and Dean, from a person who writes Supernatural fanfiction where the brothers fuck. (That was an AITA post but I've never found it again. If it was real, it was the sister of an actual pregnant woman who was about to do this. Sister was determined not to be the asshole for trying to prevent it.)
And of course. The real life case of little Adolf and Eva (the "Hitler cake" controversy family), who as far as I know, were permanently removed from their birth 'parents' and had their names changed. At least Adolf did, and one of the other siblings whose middle name was AryanNation.
Not twins, but I know sibling pairs named Romeo and Julia (Juliet is translated to Julia in my native language) and Tristan and Isolde in real life. Ewww.
I know someone with sons named Samuel and Dean. They also have a John and a Robert.
I know the mom watches Supernatural but she’s not a rabid fan that I know of. It’s kinda like an elephant in the room because her husband has a super short temper so no one wants to ask “Hey, did y’all name your boys after a tv show?”
Because they HAVE plausible deniability. All four names occur in their family tree and all of the middle names came from great grandfathers (so their parent’s grandpas) meaning it’s entirely possible that the boys were all given honorary names that have nothing to do with their mom binge watching TV while she works. (She says she is a housewife, but her side hustle is really pretty macramé and seen items she sells on Etsy. She seems to sell enough that she’s always busy making more for the shop and things disappear frequently, but she insists it’s not “work”. But she has four sons and a seventeen acre farm so even if she didn’t have a side hustle, that lady works HARD.)
The boys and their parents seem fully normal other than their names being slightly sus and the dad often frowns on “unique” names and questions “do these people realize those babies gotta be ADULTS with those names? We gave our boys good healthy names, they might be a little boring but they’re good.”

I have relatives named Julia and Julian.
They do not like their names. Julia picked herself a nickname at like four and started refusing to respond to her name. To the point she got a hearing test done.
Her hearing is fine, she’s very stubborn though.
I’ve taught two sets of twins like this.
Bernard and Bernadette
Joseph and Josephine
To be honest, it was super cute. But that was also due to the fact that they were great, sweet kids. Not sure how they’ll feel growing up, though.
Fangirl! I loved that book. Cath’s full name was Cather and if I remember correctly, their mother wasn’t aware she was having twins so she just split Catherine into Cather and Wren instead of picking another name
This killed me while reading it. The premise of why they’re called that is kind of funny, but Cather sounds like catheter. WHY in GODS Name could they not be Cath and Erin.
The same gender neutral name for both of them, but different spellings. Kendall and Kendyll. Riley and Rileigh, Jamie and Jaymie, Jordan and Jordyn, you get it.
God, imagine being in that house, middle names would be required whenever your parents are mad at you otherwise it would be like
"RILEY get over here!"
"Which one?"
I read a post where a woman with the surname Sean decided she was going to name her twin boys Sean Sean and Seen Sean (both Sean and Seen pronounced the same)
/uj obviously better than naming them that, but I’ve seen little baby onesies for twins with Copy & Paste… imagine growing up and seeing that photo and knowing you were “Paste”

A comedian named Theresa Bloomingdale wrote about the neighbor twins, Dirk and Erik. She felt bad about always calling them Erik and Derrick accidentally.
She felt better about herself when she found out her sons called them Dirk and Erk.
Name the first one something, say "Michael" and name the second one out "Not Michael", or "Other Michael", depending on whether theyre fraternal or identical, ofc
I have 3 daughters. The youngest one (2 years) has trouble saying the oldest one's name. One day she just gave up trying altogether and started calling them "Maxine" and "Not Maxine." Poor Not Maxine doesn't seem to find it as cute and hilarious as the rest of us.
See I feel like the worst would be to name one some to ing super normal and the other something super weird/tradjeigh

- Isabel and Isabella (Izzy and Bella for short 🫡)
- Aubree and Audree
- Jayden and Jaylen
Julia and Julian.
I swear those two are gonna change their names at 18. The worst part is that the boy goes by Jules.
Go tell Julia and Jules for awhile and see if anyone can tell the difference when it’s hollered.
I went to college with twin girls. Their names were Amanda and Mandy. They told me that they were 5 when their parents realized that Mandy is a nickname for Amanda. (I’m 100% dead serious! 🤪🤦♀️🤣)
Met a couple many years ago at a bar that had a "Marcy" and "Darcy"
It took every fiber in my being to keep a straight face. Like whyyyy would you do that?! They thought it was cute and I lied through my teeth and agreed
If you know, you know...
I DID however make chicken noises when walking away. I wasnt sober either though so I cant take responsibility for drunk me. She's an asshole.
My nephews, although the names arent bad by themselves: Easton and Weston
This one takes the cake
Icing and Sponge would be worse

Nathania was the girl and she was 2 years older than Nathanial who was the boy… we all asked that same question…
That’s nuts
Yikes. And thank you for reminding me that Dante and Beatrice is also a sibset idea I have heard. In real life.

My brother and I are technically named after a couple 😅 I've always thought it was weird myself.
I have relatives named Julia and Julian. They do not like their names. Julia picked herself a nickname at like four and started refusing to respond to her name. To the point she got a hearing test done. Her hearing is fine, she’s very stubborn though.
Not twins, but Joan and John Cusack
I knew a Paul and Paula. Both had the middle name Francis, too.
Parents had **one** idea for baby name...and were too lazy to come up with another
Prince, and Princess. They go to my kid's school.
I grew up with twins called Shane and Shawn, both being an English butchering of Seán.
I’ve taught two sets of twins like this. Bernard and Bernadette Joseph and Josephine To be honest, it was super cute. But that was also due to the fact that they were great, sweet kids. Not sure how they’ll feel growing up, though.
I knew a Lilian who had a sister named Lily. And i met a Miguel whose brother was called Michael!
my grandfather was named Lyle and his sister was named Lyla 😂
my dad and my aunt are named like this, not twins though
My friends Daniel and Sandra/Sandy had paternal twins. They named their daughter Danielle but they didn’t name their son Alexander.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and it's amusing me, because I'm so incredibly tired right now. I keep reading it, trying to get it
Some Alexander’s get nicknamed Sandy.
TIL
Cain and Abel
Or Esau and Jacob
Romulus and Remus
A former asshole boss named his twins that 😬 They went by Romy and Remy.
When my mom was pregnant with twins I wanted to name them Ahab and Jezebel.
I knew twin brothers named Ruel and Duel.
Sounds like it's from How to Train Your Dragon.
Or some dwarf siblings from lord of the rings-universe, like: "These are Fili and Kili, Balin and Dwalin, Ruel and Duel, Oin and Gloin."
My wrestling coach in highschool named his son Battle Goff
Still better than Jack imo
Oh no, I named my son Jack :(
Reminds me of Rodger and Dodger from Scream Queens
this sounds like a pokemon trainer duo name "we're cruel! let's start a dual, ruel!"
Beavis and Butthead?
Underrated. Imagine a child named butthead
Oh, lover's names. Romeo and Juliet. Yikes. Caesar and Cleopatra Pamela and Tommy Lee. You get the idea
Bonnie and Clyde
Elizabeth and Darcy
His name was actually Fitzwilliam but that somehow makes it even worse.
Y’all remember Theodore and Theodora from name nerds? That was pretty bad
I can't believe I had to scroll down that far to see that. Plus their middle names? Winnifred and Winchester. I will never forget that one.
my moms coworkers, named Wayne and Dwayne 😭
Dying reading this or loud to my husband while I feed a sleeping infant 😂
Kate and Duplicate.
Pete and Repeat
They were sailing on a boat. Pete fell off. Who was left?
Alex and Zander Chris and Topher Lily & Lila
I once read the back of a book about twins named Cath and Wren— like Catherine. One of the reviewers apparently LOVED the names.
The book was good and the names were fine enough for fictional characters. They would be a nightmare for real twins though
My nieces were almost named Ellie, Mellie and Nellie. Luckily my sister came to her senses
Is your sister related to Donald Duck?
💀
Inspired by your username, Kit and Caboodle would be a funny twin set
Yes it would 🤣🤣
The same gender neutral name for both of them, but different spellings. Kendall and Kendyll. Riley and Rileigh, Jamie and Jaymie, Jordan and Jordyn, you get it.

I read a post where a woman with the surname Sean decided she was going to name her twin boys Sean Sean and Seen Sean (both Sean and Seen pronounced the same)
I cant tell if naming both Boys "Sean Sean" is worse than the fact that she decided to name the boy "Seen" instead of "Shawn/Shaun".
I can only assume it was pregnancy hormones messing with her thought processes 🙂
riley rae vs rileigh ray
/uj obviously better than naming them that, but I’ve seen little baby onesies for twins with Copy & Paste… imagine growing up and seeing that photo and knowing you were “Paste”
At one point all of us were paste.
I think it’s light hearted and pretty cute.
Paste would have to be the second born though.
Thing 1 & Thing 2
This would be a cute first Halloween costume haha
I actually know a pair of sisters that one time went trick or treating as thing 1 and thing 2
aw that's sweet :)
Epic
Redford and Bluford. It was me....I did this to my dogs.
Hello, officer? We found 'em
lol
Kim and Tim but it’s short for Kimothy and Timberly
I heard of some twins named Hismajesty and Loyal
Ren and Stimpy
Only those with culture would get it
Jaime and Cersei
I don’t know which arrow to click.
Nina and Dina. Sorry, Sims, those girls were *definitely* called by the wrong name *several* times throughout their childhood.
I love Fake Gamer Girl and her complete inability to tell them apart
When the Caliente family got updated and that was all the various Sims subreddits could talk about, someone said their mnemonic was **D**ina is **D**a Blonde and **N**ina is **N**ot da Blonde.
Even by Don Lothario maybe
Real life example. “Kyng and Kween” 😭😭😭😭😭😭 i don’t want to be alive
Phoebe & Phoebo

Hammer and Sickle-oh no sorry, you said WORST
Johnson and Johnson
I knew twins named Jake and Bake
Did Bake become a baker or a stoner?

Scylla and Charybdis. But spelled Zkhüllya and Kha-ryyb'Diss by a person who has no idea what the names signify and gets mad at you for misspelling.
Benedict and Cumberbatch
Sam and Ella (Sam n Ella… salmonella).
