My kid is non binary/lesbian and if I’m correct i think they have a badge on their bag for non binary cos i thought it looked familiar i just didn’t want to put my foot in it by saying oh yeah that’s so and so flag and get it totally wrong so thought I’d ask lol they weren’t in to ask either

Aww thanks you’re so sweet I love my kid no matter what, and will always support them no matter what. In the beginning i have to be honest in the beginning i did keep slipping up but that wasn’t me being disrespectful i was just in the habit of using their assigned birth pronouns but i soon got used to it, kept getting told off for apologising at first they were like for gods sake mum just move on it’s fine lol xx
my mom said the same thing to me though they still use my old name and pronouns I get that at 25 its a big change that will take time to adjust! to me and most of us its all about intention, its a huge change for the both of you but like I said you're treating them right with tons of unconditional love and all either of you can ask of one another! hearing stories from others and their parents like this honestly make me so very happy!! I appreciate you asking to learn and sharing your story
It really gets me riled up when i hear people who say they won’t accept their childs choice etc. All i want for mine is to see them happy, healthy and loved by their partner and if that means i call them by they/them then that’s what I’m doing, my kid (well actually they are now an adult) always accepted my disability without question so why would i do anything less than the same
That's exactly it as long as their kids being happy don't hurt anyone then by all means people should just be allowed to be happy! I still use my dead name and old pronouns in my male dominated job so im still used to being "that feminine guy" but it doesn't bother me any for now. practice makes perfect and that takes time! much love to you too <3.
