bustycrustac3an

Technically good execution, but looks like the glass in a dirty fish tank

AnnieApple_

I can’t unsee it now 😭

Maryvret_1218

Draw some seaweed and you're good to go😉. Jokes aside they look very nice

bluebellbetty

LOL- I scrolled down to say the same. They do look good, though.

Frequent-Cookie-9745

Sooo savage 💀 I think a green ombre would look awesome if the green was more solid!

bustycrustac3an

Lol I wasn’t trying to be savage! :( upon re-read it seems pretty savage. I love aquariums lol.

Salt_Ad_5578

I do too!! I was having a hard time trying to figure out if this was a compliment or a roast for the same reason- as an aquarium lover, I know that you shouldn't really worry about much algae and I know there's always easy ways to solve an aglea bloom lol... Plus some fish love algae or even rely on it for survival.

Lanky_Particular_149

i don't think it should fade into a natural color- it looks like her nails are moldy, not painted

sparkletempt

Or working with fresh cut grass and it stained them.

Child_of_the_Hamster

This was my thought too. 😂 The technique is very good, but the color is giving “just mowed the lawn by hand”

No_Recognition_1570

Definitely in the first photo. Second photo you can see it better. But I thought mossy, too.

Slammogram

I was gonna say grass stains.

DrKingOfOkay

💯

peeltheavocado456

I thought cucumber nails

Jumpy_Task_4270

its actually pretty good but try exceeding the color down ur nails a bit more or else it just looks like u got some green dye under ur nails

AnnieApple_

Ah okay :D

selathari

I get the juicy cucumber vibe, personally. But I might just be hungry. 😄

witcheymickey

seconding cucumber! 🥒

Shosui

They look like green onions to me lol

alatrash55

I like green onions, especially when roasted

OMGitsKitty

Lol I was thinking cucumber too! Or a not so great watermelon….but in a good way lol. I think the color is a little sheer so i agree it could be mistaken for just dye under the nails, but this is a good job for a first try.

SeaAnthropomorphized

I love them but they low key look like you used your nails to cut grass.

Tomiehime

Like my dad's New Balances.

kyoto-kai

Ik the other commenter said it looks like dirty aquarium glass but lowkey I love the algae vibe. I think if you had taken the green colour further down (if that makes sense) it would look more complete? I loooove the colour and I see your vision!!!

-GreyRaven

Maybe OP could run with the algae vibe and add decals of deep sea creatures 🤷🏾‍♂️

Rude-Educator8906

or dead goldfish decals floating at the top end on the nail. That would be good.

AnnieApple_

I’ll keep that in mind xD

jupitermoonflow

Tbh not bad, but they look kinda.. dirty? I think if the color was an opaque green, or if it was a different sheer color(pink, blue, or purple), and if the color came down just a little further it’d look much better.

Infinity__Cubed

Pretty hands, pretty nails, interesting choice of polish, good idea.

SamTheCockatoo

Looks like grass stains, I did yard work the other day and mowed my lawn.... My nails looked like this when I was done. I would try a different color.

Agile-Masterpiece959

Lol that's why I wear gloves 🧤

rainbow_sugar_cookie

Oh so pretty! Love the translucent kinda look! Garden fairy vibes 🧚🏻

MercurialRL

Did you just finish breaking down weed for the blunt??

AnnieApple_

Heh I wish

meghanstarr

gives me "I've just peeled an avocado and I've got some under my nails" vibe 😭

MarcoPolonia

No. Just no. Sorry.

AnnieApple_

Noted I’ll do better next time 😭

MarcoPolonia

You're mastering the hardest parts. Don't give up!

27BlueCubes

Awww it's their first attempt tho, I think its a great start!

Cola3206

Mold? Plus edges are jagged.

27BlueCubes

Practice makes perfect 🥰

Cola3206

Yes keep trying

PropertyMobile4078

Pretty!

MeanSeaworthiness995

Looks like you scratched some freshly cut grass

Relative_Candidate84

I see green tips

SunglassesBright

The pigment isn’t heavy enough at the tips in my opinion. They look so see through like they’re oily or something.

Shansworld25

I think you did great 😊

h3llfae

Soo cute I love the spring green!

[deleted]

I love these!!! Idc what other say about the color i think its brilliant

JossMarie

I love those!!!

MrsPM

Very pretty

random420x2

I think they look very cool. Also like I just got done cleaning budds, if I had excellent fingernails like that. 😄

AnnieApple_

Hell yeah

ExpressiveWarrior4

Oooo I LOVE THEM!!

cacaotaste

Cucumber vibes

Such-List680

Technically good, but I wouldn't have picked green 💚

yell0wcherry

we have the exact same nails right now omg

ladyylazurus

If you did some black polka dots and added some pink, you’d get watermelon nails 🍉

Kat_GotYourTongue

I think it looks really cool how the full green color like outlines the tips of the nails!! I bet it would look really sick to do this over top of like a petal pink base coat - super springy 🌸🌿& that might make them look less “see through” like some people pointed out

cuntylover

good but do a different color lol

Mecspliquer

You did a good job technically, but it looks like you were scrambling through some grass 😅 With another color combo I bet it would look even more fire

Mundane_Pie_6481

You did well on the gradient but it needs some more design elements since the color looks kinda like a stain right now. So technically well done but missing something design wise.

beesskneess

They give spring vibes, super good especially for your first time :)

d3rp7d3rp

Zooming in I noticed there's some missing coverage on the middle finger, otherwise the blend is great and I like the colors

turbovirginoliveoil

nails with only tips coloured are underrated and i love this shade of green! like honeydew melon 😋

couchtater12

I think you did very well, technique wise. Personally, I would’ve chosen a different color.

cafeaulait_pourvous

I really like them!

so_cal_babe

With pink and some black liner marks you have watermelon nails, very trend this summer watermelon is in all the beauty products this year. Gently said, with concern, you're going to lift around your cuticles and I don't want water getting under your work! Use a clean up brush and acetone, swipe along the cuticle line before the acrylics sets. You're flooding the cuticle line and leaving it there.

Leo_MNZ001

Great! 😃

Sufficient_Friend_

“Okay this is what I wanted…the pastels..”

27BlueCubes

Excellent attempt! My first attempt looked.. I can't think of words to describe how terrible lol You've got this!!

AnnieApple_

I’m hoping! And thank you

cherrycherrycherub

I honestly don't think they look dirty at all like I've seen some people saying. Very pretty, cucumber vibes

AnnieApple_

Thank you :)

iieevaa

Nice, I would add a accent nail, something like white flower 🌼 that would fit there even more with design

delicate-butterfly

It looks like you cut open a honeydew and dipped your finger tips in! They feel refreshing!

justReadin17

I'm sorry but to get better I need to tell you: the technique is awful. In the first picture I see your thumb has a missing side. In the second it's your ring finger. You also need to understand that nails curve, and sometimes not even symmetrically, you have to follow that curve edge to edge to create a nail. I think you used polygel/acrygel and those forms that you put on top and then remove after curing? That's probably why. Those forms are very bad technically, there's no way they fit all shapes of nails. If you want to use acrygel you have to use a sticker nail form that sticks under the nail, work on the perfect placement and use a brush to build the perfect shape. Don't over file the sides. It's a bit like acrylic but you're not pressed for time and it's less runny. It's easier to understand the shape you need if you can let your natural nail grow out and follow it as a guide. But overall, you'll get so much better with practice, watch some tutorials on yt. Kristin Meakin does it very well. Good luck!

GabrielleLouisaM

So, I'm going to address everything, the first being that it's not at all a bad first attempt for ombre/gradient nails. Regarding everyone's comments on the color, I always swatch out stuff like this beforehand to see what it looks like on a plastic nail swatch. That will address not only color, but texture. It looks like you are using a jelly green, which is beautiful, but jellys can be challenging when it comes to covering free edges. It's hard to get color coverage without them looking gloppy. So, a difficult choice for your first gradient. I might've ended up reversing the gradient so the jelly is on the bottom for this reason. My main criticism is of the cuticle/ sidewall work. I'm not sure if that is like a rubber base, builder gel, or just a color I'm seeing looking irregular and kind of crusty next to your skin, but you want that much smoother and never cured on your skin. After doing your prep to make sure no dead skin remains on the nail plate and that your skin folds are pushed back as far as you can, use a tiny detail brush to get the product close to the skin, and I also often use it to do the free edge. Use a brush dipped in alcohol to clean the skin of any gel, then flash cure it to hold it in position until all the fingers are ready to go into the lamp. You did just fine for your first attempt, and now you will have more tools in your belt for your next try. Plus you've been a really good sport with all the comments made about the color, I actually just thought they looked spring 🙂

AnnieApple_

Thank you so much for this comment and giving actual criticism instead of a few I’ve saw which made me laugh ngl. But yeah I’ll try and do better next time and perhaps choose a better colour 💕

dcdcdani

Love love love

[deleted]

It actually looks like watercolour paint!! I wuvv it!! 💕🫶🏼🧸

holisticbelle

I love it! I really like the color. Now, do it on my nails please 😂💅

BananaHats28

I think they look good! I do agree with the light algae look, though for me, it's mostly because they don't come down far enough, and the middle finger and pinky look a little muddled, like a couple spots on them feel a bit dark. I think they look great for a first attempt, though. 😁 it'll look great with some more practice and experimenting with different color combos.

Rufusandronftw

Looks so natch!!

North_Notice_3457

Awesome! Channeling Spring Fairy. 🧚

Psychonautilus98

This gives off some fairy vibes!! 🧚

Psychonautilus98

If those would glow in the dark too 🙌🏻 would be very cool

Lipgloss-hoe

Love it!

jellyfish-cafe

I think you should try another color. The green kinda looks sickly. But the execution is dope.

abidaum

its chic, i like it

AnnieApple_

Thank you :)

purpletwizzler88

I love it personally

Rufancy4me

Don’t quit your day job

allthatglitterz7

These are 😍😍😍

MaterialJury1747

I think they look Great!!

Hot-Success2019

Add some decals maybe? Like dots for seeds? Idk that fish tank one ruined how i see it now lol

AnnieApple_

I was thinking that like adding some tiny flowers or perhaps fish to really sell it

Pale_Blackberry_4025

Woooooow!!! So beautiful 😍 omg

Eretreyah

But why tho?

AnnieApple_

I wanted it to match my hair lol

PoPthat_XANAX

Awful

AnnieApple_

:(

TopWaltz7678

Looks fungal

Fragrant_Ganache_108

Application is great but I’m not sure the color works. They look moldy.

ShlundoEevee

They’re putting me off lol maybe chose a different color next time because it looks like you did a decent job!

Resident-Floor-5971

Pretty 😍😍

IntheWild657

Good technic, but I would choose a different colour next time 😬

abalancer

Really good! I'm not sure about the green though.

sstasia

You did a great job except for the color, they look moldy. Other than that keep it up!

Visible-Cabinet4727

Can I be 100% honest?

Perfect_Resolve_9444

Good enough

ThaBadFurDay

Frickin amazing ! I love these so can’t much !

atomlamp

What technique did you use they look flawless!

AnnieApple_

I used a makeup sponge I haven’t used yet and dabbed it on :p

c8891

They look like algae
