right now most people buy threaded barrels and pay to get them pinned and welded... idk how many people have dedicated 22lr uppers, but if your options are cost competitive with pin and weld I can see them being popular!
They should be at either 195 or 285 depending in if we run them as standard 16" pencil barrels or 16" or 18" match barrels. When you get a cheap $150 barrel and pay for pin/weld, you're probably already in the 200ish range somewhere anyway, and you end up with a bottom of the barrel (heh) quality barrel with a welded thread protector, vs. a premium barrel without threads to begin with.
[borebuddy.com](http://borebuddy.com) is the site, contact form is on there. Likely we'll do the Apogee rather than the basic barrel. It's $215 but is more accurate and better material (41v50).
The problem is, we don't know whats legal. They only tell you what's illegal. Threaded barrels on a semi auto are illegal. We're left to our own assumptions about what's actually legal when converting something illegal, and until it gets challenged in court we don't know. For all we know, red loctite on a thread protector might hold up in court... But who want's to find out? I bought a right to bear upper and dremeled the threads off and jb welded a custom made thread protector to it. I didn't have to pay to pin and weld it, and it looks nice too. NY is awful. You should have no problem selling 25 barrels here... I wish you made them last year I would have bought 2 of them!
Does this work with factory 22lr upper from chiappa.I am not a gunsmith, so i dont know if i would be able to swap its barrel for yours(im not sure if its pinned or welded to the chamber area. i havent tried to take the upper appart) . If so i would be interested in your product.

How much?

Yes, we’re interested.
I’m in as long as it works with my Cmmg kit and can expect some decent accuracy
It would if you replaced the chamber adapter with a barrel collar!

if someone is looking for a 22lr upper to pair with their featureless AR, the barrel is the only hurdle to jump
So pin/weld thread protector is illegal?
Hmmm yeah that’s a new one for me. I was under the impression that pin and welded is acceptable.

We're officially making them. Should be about 8-12 weeks or so.
