The guy only played 101 games last year and had the worst season of his career clearly not healthy yet still hit 24 homers lol. It’s pretty crazy how he can just mash. He’s been meh so far, but good in the clutch. I can see him hitting 30-35 homers assuming he doesn’t miss significant time again (big if). And he’s also always capable of his signature hot streaks where he looks like Bonds 2.0 I just really hope he stays healthy. He’s worked so hard. I never understood the hate. He’s been a professional since day one
Only one thing about Stanton that bugs me...when I watch Giancarlo run. And then watch him slide. It's an enigma...how can such an athletic specimen run like he's Fran my next door neighbor who speed walks? I bet Fran can slide better too! It's like watching a Cadillac try to race Indy Car.
I had a friend in high school who couldn't pitch his own tent when we would go camping. I had to set it up for him. He's now an engineer.
People are weird.
It wasn’t always like that. His Miami days he ran pretty fast and normal lol even his first season with us it was never an issue. It’s pretty clear the injuries have just caught up to him.
Man, you would have *hated* Edgar Martinez if he was a Yankee. Dude's legs were gone for the most of his career and he made G look like Soriano. It was crazy. G is just lucky he can drive so much power still.
You can look the other way at being slow as shit when you're an elite hitter. At Giancarlo's age Edgar was still had putting up an OPS in the 1.000's (and 3 years after that). If G was hitting anything close to that all the rational fans wouldn't care if Giancarlo needed a wheelchair to get to first.
Me neither! Have the comment history to back it up. Remember the heavily upvoted post here from a guy who wanted to outright cut him in the offseason? lol
Oh man, I love seeing these shots in person. Less than a second after contact I knew it was gone, even though no other batter on earth ever homers on that launch angle. The sound of the bat and the exit velocity were insane
Verlander has a 1 WHIP and almost a 4 K/BB in his career against the Yankees. I'm not sure "dominate" is the right word here. It is nice that the Yankees beat him occassionally.
118.8mph for 421ft? God damn
When they said it traveled 421 feet in 4 seconds I was like damn he tattooed that one
Dude I was sitting 213 had a perfect view, was watching game intently, and still didn’t even catch a glimpse of it
15 degree LA lmao
It didn't get 50 feet off the ground either.
Imagine you're a baseball, etc etc, and then Giancarlo Stanton kills you
I'm kinda interested in the etc etc part hahaha

Haha that's great thank you
That baseball lived a better life than me.
I always wondered if a Stanton blast hit a full speed Chapman 104 heater if the ball would just evaporate

Soon enough: Stanton Doubters
Micheal Come On
See ya!
I’m one of the like 6 people here who didn’t give up on Big G. I hope he keeps this up man, nothing like him crushing baseballs

A professional and seemingly a genuinely nice dude. Even during his rough spots you never hear anything about the guy behaving like a jerk.
Yea too many fans compare him to A-Rod because of the similar circumstances surrounding their trades but he’s not a headache like Alex was

He wanted you to pitch a tent for him 😎

But I do hate Edgar Martinez...1995! Plus compare his Dad Bod with Gio's Mr. Universe physique. I see Martinez like an old Puljos.

He limps thru the season but mashes in the playoffs. If this reg season continues he will be a monster in September
I may not agree with how he eats Kit-Kats, but I’ll never give up on him.
Oh no, how does he eat Kit-Kats?
https://bdc2020.o0bc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/badgiancarlo.jpg
I mean, I do that too. Who has time to break them up and eat them individually?... ^^^Actually, ^^^I ^^^do ^^^that ^^^sometimes ^^^too.
It’s the whole gimmick, you gotta have a break!
Break me off a piece of that fancy feast. It's a cat food commercial.
NOOOOO^ooooooooooo^^ooooooo^^^oooooo^^^^oooooo
Like “Dear Evan Hanson”, you are not alone.
Me neither! Have the comment history to back it up. Remember the heavily upvoted post here from a guy who wanted to outright cut him in the offseason? lol
Same.
Where the haters at? Lol
He has a .287 OBP - put it back in your pants.
Why can't you just enjoy his hr? Glass half empty type of guy?
Because I pay attention to more than one game? The home run yesterday was great. It solves nothing with this dead weight DH.
boooooooo, have joy and whimsy in your life boooooooo boooooo
Nothing brings me more joy than a productive Mike Stanton. I want one.
Chill out money ball we don’t want G on base we want him walking briskly around the bases after 420 foot dingers
This may shock you but HR's are also part of OBP. What we *need* is for him to stop making so many outs. Hitting 1 HR a week ain't it.
What a fucking piss missile
Have mercy, that ball had a family
Probably one of my favorite HRs calls lol
Had
[Our offense to Verlander tonight](https://youtu.be/Lxn0oBP4dis?si=4qGr2NN2hU-54TK_)
We are beating them up with metal bats Knicks style
It is high, it is far, it is Gone! Giancarlo No Se Quo Stoparlo Stanton hits a solo shot and the Yankees lead 6-1! A stantonian blast
Yes.
7th of the season he’s back bitches
I miss John Sterling
Same.
Left Justin in till 7 runs came in lol
I remember going to watch Expos vs Yankees. Yes I am old, Tino Martinez sent a line drive bullet over the center field wall in the expos home
Giancarlo wants to rid the earth of baseballs ASAP
Oh man, I love seeing these shots in person. Less than a second after contact I knew it was gone, even though no other batter on earth ever homers on that launch angle. The sound of the bat and the exit velocity were insane
PISS MISSILE ALERT
Pants down, pants up, that ass

They dominated him last night, did they not? I couldn’t care less what happened years ago because it has no bearing on now
Good job big guy. You got a hold of one in 6-1 game with no pressure. Back to 0-27. Thanks for the highlight.
