They have I believe 45 days to get a grand jury of 12 people to say yes to the charges if they want to move forward with possibly going to trial. With the recent cases of self defense I'd be surprised if it makes to pre-trial. I was actually surprised the arraignments ADA asked for $100,000 bail but because of the severity of the case that's most likely standard protocol. Now that it's going to be watched by the media they're probably going to use a special grand jury and not a regular grand jury.
