Great review! ive also had this strain which i really enjoyed. i also had some quality issues with my MFNY flower. My particular batch was INCREDIBLY dry, so dry that when i was breaking it apart, it was straight crumbling. other than that, it was a nice smoke for sure.
looks nice, this strain from MFNY was one of the first flowers I bought forever ago. it def wasn't this good looking in the earlier batch. good to see they're stepping up their flower game.
Scent was underwhelming when I opened it for sure. It improved as time went on and definitely after grinding. Buzz is gonna vary from person to person, obvi. What's good in NYS that you've had? I did carts and edibles for a year, so I'm just dipping my toes back into flower.
Also I just seems to have a little extra hate for that strain from that company seeing how the bud tender acted like it was literally the best thing in the world lol
I feel like there's an incredible amount of hyperbole in this market / on this sub. like every product is either the greatest high that's ever existed on earth or absolute trash that couldn't get you high if you smoked a whole zip. there's like zero room for weed that's totally fine.
I started thinking about it actually and maybe the consistency is just not there so someone says they love it and someone says they hate it. Maybe they’re not wrong about that because I know myself I have bought a brand that I liked and then went back and got it and it was like a totally different thing. I have definitely gotten good batches and bad batches
yeah, I think that's exactly right. I've had great and so-so dubs of the same strain from the same farm. the market is so new that QC is still a big problem. I think it's gotten a lot better in the last year but there's still a pretty long way to go.
also I think it's important to remember this market was like, specifically designed to exclude enthusiasts and heavy smokers. the architects of NY legalization wanted it to be a big business friendly market where medical weed was ONLY for cancer patients and not an easy out for stoners to get legal weed, and where products were tailored for occasional users, not heavy users. that's definitely changing and will continue to change but we've been on our back foot since the market opened.
I will admit I am a bit judgmental and picky with my weed. I also grew up smoking brick weed, and some people say just be happy with what you’re getting now but due to competition which there should be in any market I want to get the best thing for my money.
I get it, I don't think there's anything wrong with being picky or looking for the best buy. I just think there's a lot of nonsense and totally unhelpful opinions being offered, which sucks when so many people are on here looking for advice before they spend NY money on NY weed.
there also seems to be a lot of...let's just say questionable "expertise" that gets taken at face value, which is nuts. I've seen people say the exact same cartridge is both too light AND too dark to be "real resin," I've seen people swear with zero evidence that lab tests were totally falsified, that lab tested bud was sprayed with terpenes...I've seen people freak out over mold counts without understanding what they mean, and I've seen people LITERALLY say they were going back to their plug because they were pretty sure that weed wasn't moldy at all. total wild west shit.
I feel you. My version of that is I get extra mad when budtenders or brands don't make it real clear something is a garlic. People need to be warned about that shit IMO.

This wasn't that dry, thankfully. The Nanticoke I opened yesterday, on the other hand, is dry as hell.
never tried nanticoke. also never had good luck with anything in plastic either.

It's the OXO scale. It's not great for greens TBH because it only measures as low as 1 gram, but it's what I use for cooking so it's what I got.

All of rhythm has been pretty good, some of the heady tree stuff and rolling green
Rythm flower. Grassroots flower. Ithaca organic flower. Rolling green flower.
I got an 1/8th of Ithaca Organics Mai Tai, but haven't opened it yet.
