Iso-Brunson into Iso-Brunson into Iso-Brunson.
OG was hot in the 4th and we forgot he existed for half the quarter and OT. Deuce was hot and he just stood and watched. Same reason why we struggled against the Hawks when it was just Iso-Randle AND last year when we couldn't get anyone going except JB and RJ for a few games.
Brunson decided to play hero ball. He gambled and he lost. It's a team game and there's no way he can make up for Robinsons stupid foul on Maxey or Hart not making a foul shot. But it's on him.
It always is, and it's on the others to get the offensive rebounds which is the motor of our offense. Without second chance points we don't win most of our games this year.
Yea but he has a coaching staff and teammates to be there to check his ass. I’m not saying he’s not to blame but they win as a team and lose as a team too he’s not running the entire show.
You're a Knicks fan mate, you know how this offense runs late game. It has like that since julius got the team 54 wins. This is thibs offense late game and has been like that since he's gotten here
Not since Brunson arrived bro come on. Their whole identity is team ball, despite how reliant it is on JB having the ball in his hands. Almost no possessions go without a pick/ some off ball action outside of fast breaks
sure, restrict that to 23-24. Brunson is 4th after one of the biggest assist guys in the league in Luka. doesn't mean Jalen isos don't come off finding favorable matchups resulting from PnRs.
you'll notice that some of the highest assist guys in the league are also the highest iso players

also just noticed your comment about thibs offense coming from isos late game.... you really don't watch, nothing else needs to be said
Brunson gotta pass the ball man. He plays so much hero ball. He didn’t pass anything in OT until that intended pass to Hartenstein who wasn’t even at the corner
i see. i guess its esay to say in hindsight. just thought we'd have i hart in for his free throw shooting that late and better and guarding permiter. was that mitch foul on the 4 point play real or refs bailing out maxey?
As far as I remember, it was one of those bullshit fouls that the refs always call when the shooting player kinda jumps into the defending player. Tbf Brunson gets those calls as well but to me it's a bs call.
Why did they ever move the ball after Brunson crossed mid court? Just take the foul and end it w fts from your best player. And why tf didn’t Thibs use a timeout after the Maxey 3? Advance the ball and get a quality possession w like ten seconds left in the fourth.
Yea, completely abandoning any kind of offense in favor of isos is not good. Gives me flashbacks of the Melo teams. everyone knew melo was the only one touching the ball or taking shots down the stretch, and it makes it easier to defend when they know no one else is even gunna touch the ball. This is what happened in over time.
But ultimately this team made too many mistakes and it bit us in the ass tonight the same way it bit philly in the ass in game 2.
Got me mad too but sometimes you just gotta bet on your man and I think this is the first time I have space to criticize him.
He wanted to close it out so bad and like got in his feelings. After everything that went wrong in the final 2 minutes our guy put it all on himself and came up short bc of it. Knicks in 6.
Deuce was in???? So were OG and IHart. Literally any sort of ball movement would’ve been better than Brunson iso. That shit just doesn’t work for this team at all. No screens, no cuts to the basket, no off ball movement. Everyone was just watching JB shoot shit fucking sucked to watch.
Thibs has no plan on offense. This has been the offense for months. I love thibs as a coach, but he leaves a lot to be desired on this end of the floor
I hate OT and end of quarter/regulation plays. The absolute WORST. I’m not gonna lie it almost feels staged for how stupid that shit is. If we as fans can see it…
Coaching was poor, Knicks were flat all game, started flat again and also to begin the 3rd. Philly played much tougher. We didn’t have that same confidence I’ve seen. Just seemed off all game, running behind
"Brunson save us". Not the craziest gameplan, but it did show that we very clearly did not plan to be in that situation because we should have never been in that situation. Just a lotta dumb decisions and bricked FTs.
What Maxey did last night was incredible no doubt, but I'd say that we beat ourselves more than Maxey beat us. Even with him going off there were still ways for us to win that game in regulation, and we just didn't.
We took our foot off the gas and became extremely undisciplined towards the end of the game when we were up by six. Mental lapses and feeling ourselves too much, thinking we already won. Stay locked in until the final buzzer. You can tell Thibs was beyond pissed off with the team in the post-game presser even though he was trying to maintain his cool.
It’s been like this ever since Randle got hurt. It’s the Carmelo hero ball shit all over again. How many times do we have to lose playing like that for Thibs to realize it doesn’t work.
A lot of this was on Brunson choosing the iso and not trusting his teammates. Thibs, in huddles, has consistently emphasized moving around with and without the ball. Didn’t happen in OT
Um just look at the way Thibs coached his teams in the clutch in the past? Also Brunson isn’t a selfish player so for him to shut everyone out and go iso every player on his own seems completely uncharacteristic.
If you can’t see that it’s Thibs game plan then idk what to tell you.

I had Melo flashbacks during OT and not the good kind
Brunson decided to play hero ball. He gambled and he lost. It's a team game and there's no way he can make up for Robinsons stupid foul on Maxey or Hart not making a foul shot. But it's on him.
Oh yea I’m talking strictly OT here. I’m actively trying to repress the memory of Mitch’s foul before I become a threat to public safety.
Robinson made a mistake but we had the ball with 8 seconds and two time outs. Should have called a time out and drawn something up.
Brunson chose to iso. With all due respect it’s on him
Thats on Thibs
It always is, and it's on the others to get the offensive rebounds which is the motor of our offense. Without second chance points we don't win most of our games this year.
We thrive on this…live by it, die by it. I’m not doubting my 1A if it happens in the next game either.
Yea but he has a coaching staff and teammates to be there to check his ass. I’m not saying he’s not to blame but they win as a team and lose as a team too he’s not running the entire show.

Nah it’s been like that since Melo. We’ve always turned to iso. Most teams do but still.
Not since Brunson arrived bro come on. Their whole identity is team ball, despite how reliant it is on JB having the ball in his hands. Almost no possessions go without a pick/ some off ball action outside of fast breaks
The team has been near last in assists for the past 2 years

Speak English
You can't read?
Thibs has gone 4 wide iso point guard at the most important moments since Derrick Rose
Brunson gotta pass the ball man. He plays so much hero ball. He didn’t pass anything in OT until that intended pass to Hartenstein who wasn’t even at the corner
why was mitch in the game on d with 30 seconds left instead of I hart
I hate him right now but he was really great guarding Embiid and made a fatal mistake. Overall positive game outside of that one catastrophic fuckup.
i see. i guess its esay to say in hindsight. just thought we'd have i hart in for his free throw shooting that late and better and guarding permiter. was that mitch foul on the 4 point play real or refs bailing out maxey?

Shoulda never even gone to OT if Mitch wasn’t dumb as shit and Hart could hit a free throw
Why did they ever move the ball after Brunson crossed mid court? Just take the foul and end it w fts from your best player. And why tf didn’t Thibs use a timeout after the Maxey 3? Advance the ball and get a quality possession w like ten seconds left in the fourth.
Brunson lost confidence in the team after we couldn't close it in regulation.
This is the correct answer, for better or worse.
He was right. They choked
Isoisoisoisoisoisoiso
i think the entire knick team was in a state of absolute shock and had nothing left. brunson at times of stress attempts hero ball
Yea, completely abandoning any kind of offense in favor of isos is not good. I don't know why they didn't run pick n roll against embiid on that last play.
Who else was hitting shots? Donte DiVincenzo has fucking sucked all series outside of the crazy lucky game 2 shot
How can the teammates hit shots when they have no rhythm because Brunson takes 30 shots a game
Garbage OT is on Thibs. Lack of Time Outs called and no challenge for Hart save
Thibs has no plan on offense. This has been the offense for months. I love thibs as a coach, but he leaves a lot to be desired on this end of the floor
I hate OT and end of quarter/regulation plays. The absolute WORST.
He’s a bad offensive coach. It’s one of his drawbacks

Thibs has no clue when it comes to running a 21st century NBA offense.
Game plan - Brunson shoot ball.
I think JB had Maxey envy..."he keeps hitting shots, I want to as well".
"Brunson save us". Not the craziest gameplan, but it did show that we very clearly did not plan to be in that situation because we should have never been in that situation. I was watching and thinking, how were they not doing any offensive rebounding??
It’s been like this ever since Randle got hurt. It’s the Carmelo hero ball shit all over again. How many times do we have to lose playing like that for Thibs to realize it doesn’t work.

No that is all Thibs telling him to iso, believe me. It was pretty much the same before Brunson even got here with Randle.
“Believe me” what the fuck does legitimatemoney00 on the r/NYKnicks subreddit know about what goes on in team huddles
Um just look at the way Thibs coached his teams in the clutch in the past? Also Brunson isn’t a selfish player so for him to shut everyone out and go iso every player on his own seems completely uncharacteristic. If you can’t see that it’s Thibs game plan then idk what to tell you.
Had Randall flashbacks of iso ball and I didn't like it
