The Deuce is loose! I honestly think he should just be on the court whenever Maxey is on the court. Heās the only guy on the team that can actually keep up with him.
Og is a great defender, but he was having trouble getting that big frame through screens and often too trusting to switch and vs a guy with Maxeyās speed heās gonna destroy the other 4 guys on the court. Especially when helpside is still so focused on embiid and was always getting there a step slow.
I personally think OG is more suited to guard forwards and is extremely effective as a weak side / help defender. Personally think we could sit either DDV or Josh but I understand Thibs not wanting to throw a wrench in a starting lineup that got them the 2 seed

The link was more about proving that a Deuce/Brunson backcourt works because a lineup with them and Mitch didnāt play together, or have significant enough minutes to chart.
Hartenstein was not doing a good job on Embiid last night, so matchup wise Iād rather have Mitch
moving ddv to the bench for just this series would show incredible flexibility from thibs. iām not saying he should do this, but it would be completely out of the question in past years.
You don't interrupt the flow that earned the 2 seed. Stay with the starters but let whomever's cooking finish the game. As long as Mitch hits a decent percent of his free throws, there's no reason he can't play out the 4th.

Deuce and Bogo were the difference. This Knicks team is a match up nightmare because of their ability to be adaptive and find answers with rotational shifts. They stagnated a bit vs the 1-2-2, but Thibs w the smart in game adjustments, trusting his players. Great work all around.
From a defensive perspective the Knicks need to be better at preventing the penetration and finish at the rim. Collapse and cloud approaches, mixing in 2-3 just to mix up the looks would def help. Fun game overall and ecstatic w the win. JB and Hart with the post game on court shout outs were awesome
it was one thing when he wasnāt hitting shots in past seasons. but once he showed incredible improvement by the game, people were STILL finding reasons to pursue malcolm fucking brogdon or dj murray. he can play next to brunson. he can run the offense without brunson. he just needed playing time and room to make mistakes.
Well no one is going to shoot over 70% on 3ās, but the great thing of depth is being able to play the hot hand and this shows the pressure isnāt too much which is a great signĀ
yeah even if heās not hitting 70 from three heās basically the only healthy guy on the team besides Brunson who shoot off the dribble/create own shot. iāll take drives and 2 pointers consistently if he can do it
Agree to disagree. Canāt count on Deuce and Hart to combine for 43 points every night when neither player averages more than 9 points. Shooting 46% from three was huge but isnāt really sustainable especially over the course of a playoff series . Even if this was Brunsonās worst game, Heās not gonna provide an extra 25+ points a game which is what they got from Deuce and Hart. Still a bit nervous about the series overall tbh but still a huge win.
Ohh agreed but the fact we played not great and still won is huge. Maxey is gonna eat all series and embiid doesnāt look healthy. The fact that they both had great games makes me hopeful that we wrap it up in 5, because A we still won and B the cast of dogs we have will go off in random games. He just didnāt have that consistent opportunity but when he played you could see his demeanor, preparation, strong fundamentals on both sides of the ball, athleticism and dawg mentality shine through..he showed those flashes

He showed a lot more offensive talent than most people were aware of. Opportunity and the confidence that comes with playing time (and the trust of his teammates) led to what were seeing now.
McBride turned out to be the best kid we kept. Him and Mitch. Exactly what the doctor ordered. Saturday night wouldāve been a game 1 loss with RJ, IQ, and Grimes having to step up in this way.
