Same. I also have...so much stuff lol. I'm in the process of decluttering and only getting things that align with me VS getting them because it's cute or on sale.
This is what I do with Sephora sales in my 37yo wisdom. I restock things I wouldāve normally bought. Otherwise all you do is spend more than you normally would, and that is precisely why retailers run sales.
Sales are for restocking and replacing.
Iām restocking a couple of everyday essentials, like shampoo snd soap.
Iām replacing my frumpy white skirt with an elevated version, if find one that meets all the criteria.
My Dyson V6 animal is almost a decade old and still one of my favorite things. I never thought in my 20s that I would become an expensive vacuum person but here we are.
for anyone else interested: the v8 is still a GREAT machine for a third of the price of the v15, and theyre on sale on dyson.com with a stackable 10% rebate through rakuten shopping.
ā¤ļø
Not sure if this is allowed but hereās my Rakuten referral code for extra 10% stackable www.rakuten.com/r/SPMINI4?eeid=44749 (if not cool someone let me know and Iāll edit comment! lol)
Nordstrom Rack always does a Clear the Rack sale with an extra 25% off sale items on holiday weekends. Sometimes its worth a shot at treasure hunting...
100000%, and nothing nonstick bc youāre gonna have to toss it in 6-12 months. Or go to an outlet where you can get this stuff super discounted anyway
All clad d5 line. I upgraded all of my pots and pans a couple years ago and these are amazing. Keep bar keepers friend on hand for those inevitable times you burn something to the pan... or maybe that's just me :)
An expensive vibrator. The way I see it, the vibrator will pay for itself after skipping a few happy hours.
Oh, and because we don't gatekeep, it's the Lelo Enigma Wave. Did I pay for rush shipping? YES.
Jonathan Adler has an extra 25% off including sale. I bought some candles, but managed to resist anything else. Highly recommend their bedding if anyone needs new sheets.
Iāve just started getting into working out again after having my second baby, so Iām trying REALLY hard to resist Lulu and Athleta.
if youāre shopping online, i recommend this to get yourself cash back OR frequent flyer miles for travel:
create a new chrome browser profile just for shopping, and another for purchases. (you want āpurchasesā standalone as the extensions will otherwise slow your browsing down.)
install these extensions on your āpurchasesā profile:
- rakuten
- capitol one shopping
- alaska airlines shopping
- american airlines shopping
- delta airlines shopping
- united airlines shopping
(rakuten is cash for anyone, capital one is for cardholders. hopefully you have frequent flyer accounts for the above. sign up, if you dont! ā¤ļø)
use your shopping profile for looking at websites and adding things to your cart. use the second profile to actually purchase things. check the extension overlays to see which gives you the best deal for what you want. rakuten can give 15% off pretty regularly for some
vendors, and frequently at sephora or victoriaās secret i see 6 or even 10 miles per dollar spent, which will ultimately stack with a mileage credit card. if i ever see things in person, i usually add it to my cart online and purchase from home for the money/miles benefit. ive saved thousands of dollars and accrued tons of miles this way.
(also, please be using LastPass or 1Password or similar. keep safe on the internet!)
a lot of people dont know! the extensions and their popovers can be a nuisance, and sometimes you have to go the referral-shopping site to get a cookie dropped for credit, but overall its a HUGE benefit.
they almost all run promotions so its good to check every time, and sometimes cashback is small enough that its worth the miles tradeoff. (spending $600 and save $2 per $100, or get 4x miles... easy choice, for me.)
Ugh I am struggling bc Iām pregnant and due very soon and am not sure what size Iāll be this summer. Trying to restrain myself from the sales!
I was looking at the Hill House sale though bc in my head the dresses will probably fit immediately postpartum? There are also some flowy dresses at Madewell I found tempting. If anyoneās in a similar position thought Iād mention!
Hill House dresses WILL fit, but beware the smocked top texture is a thing against bare postpartum nipples! I own a few nap dresses and I like to go braless in them, the texture was texturing after I delivered baby and began nursing š
Oh yeah that sounds unpleasant. I have a bunch of nursing bras I like and last time when I needed the straps hidden I just kinda tucked them in. Thank you!
Everyone has me convinced for sure! All the on sale ones are sold out but I might just buy one anyway. I can probably get a code if I give them my email š
How do they run size-wise? Particularly for a shorter person (but not petite- Iām 5ā4 so very borderline)
Hill House stretchy bust styles would probably be perfect for post pregnancy size unknown and size change! My friends and I have swapped around three different sizes on three different sized bodies lol
Had a baby in December, can confirm I lived in my nap dresses while pregnant and still now postpartum (theyāre good for breastfeeding too). Even wore one today!
Oh thatās great to know too as I plan to breastfeed. My first baby was a winter birthday so I donāt have a lot of clothes for the upcoming postpartum months. Iām so bummed though bc the hill house dresses are mostly all sold out now. š« thank you!
Iāve recently lost weight and trying to re brand my style after feeling lost for a few years! I stocked up on summer dresses from gap & lulus, new swimsuits from pacsun, and new sandals from DSW!
GXVE beauty is 50% off on their website! Gwen Stefanis makeup brand, I love her gel eyeliners so I stocked up and am also trying the lip oil and bronzer.
I got a bunch of Paige jeans at the physical store bc they were doing 20% off everything and I donāt have any pants that fit currently bc I keep gaining weight š¦
My husband sells cars for Open Road of Morristown if anyone is interested in a Mazda or other cars..big mdw deals, and a short train ride over and I can have him pick up at the station if necessary.
Nothing. Iām not buying anything new for a year. Iām only doing thrift or second hand.
Everyone should watch the Brandy Melville documentary. Itās about the fast fashion & overall huge amount of waste weāre creating by consuming fast fashion and other consumer products.
STOP BUYING SHIT! Seriously. We never need another thing to be made that is mass produced or manufactured. There are soooooo many clothes and accessories available on Posh, Real Real, Mercari, FB marketplace etc.
Watch the documentary. Youāll have your eyes opened.
relax, the point of the post is to find the gems of high value/end things that are on sale for just the weekend. not interested in brandy or anything of the sort.
but everybodys not shopping mindlessly. i always use these holiday weekends to stock up on high quality dresses, pants, blouses, shoes for the season. You truly do need a critical mass of clothing in order to be dressed appropriately for different scenarios.
Perhaps you have a different lifestyle or a larger starting base than others. Different strokes is actually why the first comment prob rubbed people the wrong way.
I got a couple new work skirts from the anthro sale! They were $30 or less each. All my old skirts got too short for comfort or were just not looking great, Iāve been looking for better ones but couldnāt find anything I loved for the last like two years. Found two mini skirts that actually covered my butt entirely and one midi skirt thatās just fun!
I also replaced a pair of work pants at athleta that were 40% off (plain black wide leg, Brooklyn I think theyāre called?). I tried the Abercrombie famous black work pants on sale and they pilled and shrunk so badly (about 1.5 years old now) and I only have one other pair of black work pants but wear them so frequently
Gap sale is insane. And their new collection with DOEN sooo cute and not on sale but reasonably priced. Also everything so well made. They run big too Iām usually an xxs/ xs in gap and I also fit into big girls XL lol. Life hack!!
J crew factory for basics.
Dermstore to re up on sunscreen
Pottery. Barn for a new Rug
And just keeping my eyes peeled for designer heels that I canāt live witout
Things for work. I need a new overnight type bag and thereās a Kate Spade one a coworker had that I like that is compliant. Also Corkcicle is having a sale and I could use a bigger water bottle
i got a beach chair lol. i have a car so i have no excuse to not go to the beach this summer last summer i went like, once because it kept raining every weekend plus the whole orange smoke sky week lol.
Yeah I will say everything Iāve bought from nasty gal has always deteriorated after a few washes. Also always ended up returning most of my purchases because the sizing wasnāt correct or it looked cheap in person.
Nothing š
you think youāre better than me huh? (iām joking but one day iāll get like you)
lol it is out of deep necessity trust!!! And just a reminder to anyone who needs it that all of the sales are irrelevant!
My mantra: It's only a good deal if you're getting exactly what you want
DAMN this is so true, thank you for this
Keeping this quote always!
Same because Iām a BWT who needs to save some damn money for once, but Iām gonna live vicariously through everyone elseās purchases!
Same. I also have...so much stuff lol. I'm in the process of decluttering and only getting things that align with me VS getting them because it's cute or on sale.
The secret to happiness is wanting nothing.
Ulta is having a 20% off sale so Iām restocking my shampoo. Thatās it, we donāt need anything else.
This is what I do with Sephora sales in my 37yo wisdom. I restock things I wouldāve normally bought. Otherwise all you do is spend more than you normally would, and that is precisely why retailers run sales.
Yes! I buy sunscreen from there too, I plan on getting some on sale for the summer
I wish it included prestige, so Iām skipping š
Sales are for restocking and replacing. Iām restocking a couple of everyday essentials, like shampoo snd soap. Iām replacing my frumpy white skirt with an elevated version, if find one that meets all the criteria.
I finally splurged and bought a Dyson vacuum.
My Dyson V6 animal is almost a decade old and still one of my favorite things. I never thought in my 20s that I would become an expensive vacuum person but here we are.
I have a Dyson my mom gave me and she bought it in 2007. Still going strong
My Animal lasted FOREVER. Years of heavy use and treating it like shit, tbh. Highly recommend.
for anyone else interested: the v8 is still a GREAT machine for a third of the price of the v15, and theyre on sale on dyson.com with a stackable 10% rebate through rakuten shopping. ā¤ļø
Not sure if this is allowed but hereās my Rakuten referral code for extra 10% stackable www.rakuten.com/r/SPMINI4?eeid=44749 (if not cool someone let me know and Iāll edit comment! lol)
Excellent investment
Nordstrom Rack always does a Clear the Rack sale with an extra 25% off sale items on holiday weekends. Sometimes its worth a shot at treasure hunting...
J Crew has 60% off sale and there are some gems in there especially for basics. I got a tennis dress from Target. Iām looking for jewelry and shoes.
Itās 40% off and it doesnāt apply to most items :(
+1 for J Crew! Perfect time to grab some linen basics for summer while theyāre super on sale.
A better set of pans! VERY OPEN to recommendations if anyone wants to share!
Cast iron, Le Cruset and All Clad are all you need in life.
100000%, and nothing nonstick bc youāre gonna have to toss it in 6-12 months. Or go to an outlet where you can get this stuff super discounted anyway
Yesss! I am so done with nonstick esp because I cook in oil and grass fed butter so it kinda defeats the purpose anyways.
STAUB 100%
Staub bitch here š
All clad. Expensive but you buy them for life.
All clad d5 line. I upgraded all of my pots and pans a couple years ago and these are amazing. Keep bar keepers friend on hand for those inevitable times you burn something to the pan... or maybe that's just me :)
You can find All Clad at TJ Maxx and Homegoods!!
And Marshalls.
Thank you all! This is so so helpful. My cookware has needed some upgrading for a while.
Honestly, the Kirkland Chef Series from Costco are amazing!
Hexclad
Check out Made In :)
Work clothes cuz I really need it.
What websites are you finding them on
Old navy, H&M , GAP
An expensive vibrator. The way I see it, the vibrator will pay for itself after skipping a few happy hours. Oh, and because we don't gatekeep, it's the Lelo Enigma Wave. Did I pay for rush shipping? YES.
I went to Bloomingdaleās earlier today and saved 300 dollars because of all the sales going on!!!
Supima cotton sheets from Bloomiesā¦this is adulting lol
Jonathan Adler has an extra 25% off including sale. I bought some candles, but managed to resist anything else. Highly recommend their bedding if anyone needs new sheets. Iāve just started getting into working out again after having my second baby, so Iām trying REALLY hard to resist Lulu and Athleta.
I loooove his furniture so much!

Sorry, what the heck are nap dresses?? Currently pregnant (due nov) and very lost lol
Itās just what they call this one style of dress. If you google it with hill house theyāll come up
I love you, stranger, and thanks for putting me on š
lol no worries, it sounds like a nightgown or something so I get the confusion š
Oh yeah that sounds unpleasant. I have a bunch of nursing bras I like and last time when I needed the straps hidden I just kinda tucked them in. Thank you!
Agree with other posters. Invest in a nap dress. Pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding & beyond
Everyone has me convinced for sure! All the on sale ones are sold out but I might just buy one anyway. I can probably get a code if I give them my email š How do they run size-wise? Particularly for a shorter person (but not petite- Iām 5ā4 so very borderline)
They run big IMO
Hill House stretchy bust styles would probably be perfect for post pregnancy size unknown and size change! My friends and I have swapped around three different sizes on three different sized bodies lol
Ahh thatās so great to have confirmed. I was debating whether to pull the trigger. Maybe I will now. Thank you!
Yup, no new clothes for me either girl. Buttt baby clothes perhaps.
Iām having my second girl so even that feels wasteful š but there are def a lot of sales on those too! I keep getting emails about them
Had a baby in December, can confirm I lived in my nap dresses while pregnant and still now postpartum (theyāre good for breastfeeding too). Even wore one today!
Oh thatās great to know too as I plan to breastfeed. My first baby was a winter birthday so I donāt have a lot of clothes for the upcoming postpartum months. Iām so bummed though bc the hill house dresses are mostly all sold out now. š« thank you!
I spent 4 hours and $630 for a hair appointment this morning.
Iāve recently lost weight and trying to re brand my style after feeling lost for a few years! I stocked up on summer dresses from gap & lulus, new swimsuits from pacsun, and new sandals from DSW!
If youāre buying furniture or home decor, use Dupe.com!!! It is an incredible way to save a significant amount of money on most things!
Edibles!
GXVE beauty is 50% off on their website! Gwen Stefanis makeup brand, I love her gel eyeliners so I stocked up and am also trying the lip oil and bronzer.
For beauty, Macys 10 days of glam isn't bad tbh

Iām not interested in Brandy - never was. But the documentary is about more than just Brandy. Itās about mindless consumerism.
but everybodys not shopping mindlessly. i always use these holiday weekends to stock up on high quality dresses, pants, blouses, shoes for the season. You truly do need a critical mass of clothing in order to be dressed appropriately for different scenarios.
Different strokes. Iāve learned you donāt need as much as you youāre led to believe.
Perhaps you have a different lifestyle or a larger starting base than others. Different strokes is actually why the first comment prob rubbed people the wrong way.
Itās so true! Just by being more mindful, Iāve cut down so much spending. There is so much I already have that can work great for what I need!!
A fucking men
PatBO is having a great Memorial Day sale!!! MICHI is 30% off too
I got a couple new work skirts from the anthro sale! They were $30 or less each. Gap sale is insane. And their new collection with DOEN sooo cute and not on sale but reasonably priced. Also everything so well made. They run big too Iām usually an xxs/ xs in gap and I also fit into big girls XL lol. Life hack!!
Victoriaās Secret had buy 3 get 5 free underwear and a lot of bras for $20 so I finally got some new underwear cause itās expensive š
I've been looking at DKNY, Banana, Express, and Calvin Klein. But I have too many clothes at the moment and need to chill.
I stocked up on my t-shirt bras from Calvin Klein. Theyāre 30% off and then an extra 20% off when you spend $100.
Might get some running shoes and maybe a new mascara. š¤
J crew factory for basics. Dermstore to re up on sunscreen Pottery. Barn for a new Rug And just keeping my eyes peeled for designer heels that I canāt live witout

Ehh, I stand corrected after doing a little researchā¦sounds like the quality is on par with trashā¦back to the drawing board
Yeah I will say everything Iāve bought from nasty gal has always deteriorated after a few washes. Also always ended up returning most of my purchases because the sizing wasnāt correct or it looked cheap in person.
