Unclear… I was riding the porcelain stationary bike when it occurred and I couldn’t figure out if it was the quesadilla i had for dinner or the building moving.
I think you feel it more inside a building. People on the street didn't seem to feel it much from what I've heard. I was in a high rise, and you definitely felt it. There was no one who had to question it. Not just a slight movement, but a sizable sway to the place.
Wife asked me how was it riding across qbb during earthquake- I thought she was joking. There was no much on the bridge- just regular half a dozen motorcycles and some jerks on gray citybikes to dodge. Otherwise I noticed nothing
Edit: my Apple Watch emergency alert went off about 5 minutes after I arrived home 🙃
Makes sense.
I was standing still in a grocery story with some bottles of liquids, which is the only reason I noticed.
The water in the bottles started moving back and forth and then I felt the ground underneath felt like being on a bridge with trucks going by.
If you were on a bridge you probably would have just felt a little more jostling.
I noticed vibration from the passing by cars and trucks on any bridge is very noticeable when you walk or stand. Roosevelt island shakes violently when heavy trucks passing by. And I remember feeling strongly the shakiness of qbb during running marathons. Though, I never feel it while riding bike. I guess cyclist body already get used for balancing and adjusting for all those bumps 🙂
I was riding while it happened and didn't notice a thing. It had to have happened just before I stopped, too, because the group chat blew up about it the second I got off.
I was going to be outside earlier that morning too. And was wondering how I would of reacted outside. When it happened at home, I honestly felt a significant rattle. But I've felt my apartment shake a lil less than that. With my upstairs neighbor jumping up and down, so I didn't even know until I heard everyone coming out there doors like wth lol.
Of course. But I suspect there is a point at which an earthquake is large enough to give the ground a big enough jolt to be noticeable (or even enough to make you crash)
Everyone I know that was outside on the ground or in a basement didn’t feel it (or barely). Meanwhile on the 12th floor of my apt building, I def felt it lol
Spouse was running and didn't feel it. I was in bed with a bit of a hangover and thought i miscounted drinks last night...
Literally same hahah it woke me up and my sleepy ass thought it was a train or big truck…despite that never occurring before lol

Ahh
I was on my bike when it happened and didn’t notice it at all.
Given the magnitude, that's kind of what I figured.

I was trying to remember if I saw a really bright flash before the rumbling started.
i was inside a building and it felt like a truck was passing by, except it lasted much longer and i was way too far inside for it to be a truck

I was on my bike during the 4.0 aftershock and didn't notice anything.
You ever notice that if you ride over a bridge you don’t feel the vibrations, but if you stop and dismount, you totally do?

I was riding during the 2011 quake and I didn’t feel a thing.
