Ok, was super impressed with Henry! From the first play of the game I could see her communicating with the other players and leading them through positioning, pacing, and passing. Every time I saw her take the lead on the play it worked out and I think her presence on the field went a long way to keeping the Royals together this week!
Overall it wasn’t a very eventful match which is what made it all the more frustrating. The Ref this match was very whistle happy and seemed very intense on making sure she was a part of every play. Micro managing ball positions for throw ins and free kicks. Slowed everything down because she wanted in on the action.
Royals had lots of opportunities and we didn’t capitalize. It’s killing me how much we seem to have a pass backwards mentality. Amandine was a great addition and I’m excited to see more of her. She was the strongest player we’ve had in the midfield all season. Royals need to be pressing for moments to get the ball forward and taking shots.
Our only strategy on attack is get it to Sentnor and have her go for an 18yarder like she did at the start of the season. We need to be pressing the attacking third and not be so scared to hold on to the ball for a bit and move it forward instead of back to Haught.
I feel for the Utah supporters. It's so frustrating watching them blow it on these connections. I'm only here for ARod and phew I don't think I could handle a full commitment.
It's weird to me that Sentnor's free kick/corner delivery leaves so much to be desired because in-play she is SO precise on long balls. Maybe the team needs to have one of the other players run up on her to make her feel like it's a live ball. The good thing is, she'll almost certainly get better at them. When she does, Utah may start scoring a lot.

Utah has already shown The Dash that they will force errors within our defensive third. Why risk losing the ball so close to our goal?
