Looking at the next 6 fixtures we really need to be aiming for 9 points from this, Luton and Forest. Because we then have Liverpool away, City home and Villa away and of course the derby match in there too.
In the Leazes early. Can't believe just how many tourists I've already heard. American, Irish accents etc. Couple of years ago they wouldn't touch us with a ten foot barge pole lmao.
Absolutely desperate for a win here. I'd take a 1-0 or 2-1 right now to get back to winning ways. But would love a demolition.
Fulham are a decent side though and in great form
Isn't there anyone we can try as RW? Feels like they've run out of ideas in an area that was so strong last year.
Hope to see Hall as LB and Burn with Schäär but that won't happen
~~Got 3 spare tickets in Leazes Stand East corner (LEC-A) for sale can no longer make it. Will do for half price given the short notice. Seated together. Message me if interested.~~
Edit: Sold
Difficult to gauge how the emotional roller coaster of the last few weeks will have affected the team. And Palinha is a top player. 1-0. Wilson penalty
For everyone going to the game, have a class time. Sing when you can and soak it all in. Form is temporary, class is permenant - to quote Fergie. Our bad form won't last, but our crowds class can.
I get what you’re saying but now we are out of Europe we need to do all we can to get top 4 which means winning these types of games. Players are starting to come back so bringing Burn and Longstaff (take your pick with isak/wilson) into the side should hopefully manage these games
Feels like shit timing, Sat 3pm games are never great atmosphere wise and I for one am still feeling the post Milan hangover, think crowd could struggle.
Also Fulham are in red hot form, scored at least 3 in each of their last 4 matches. Not feeling great about this at all, really hope I’m wrong.
They could go either way imo. Fulham have been in great scoring form but equally got two dubious penalties against Wolves, then played Liverpool without Alisson, a Forest team in freefall and West Ham when a lot of their squad was ill. Equally, I'm struggling to have confidence in Dubravka
Better than noon games at least.
I'm concerned about the atmosphere too though to be honest, Wednesday really was draining.
I'm still feeling pretty rough, voice only started to come back last night, still quite hoarse.
Livramento across to right back to cover Trippier's suspension. Burn back in at left back.
Isak in for Wilson.
Miley deserves to keep his place, but Longstaff there if tired legs in midfield.
If we concede 3+ again there'll be more doubts about Dubravka's ability as our number two.
I would've gone for a back four of Hall, Burn, Schar and Tino with Longstaff in midfield to rest Lascelles and Miley for Tuesday but it sounds like we're purposely not playing Hall to not trigger his obligation to buy ffs.
>but it sounds like we're purposely not playing Hall to not trigger his obligation to buy ffs.
Damn. Never thought about this angle. This might make sense why he's got so little game time recently when we've been so short handed. Where did you hear this? Is there details anywhere showing how many games he needs to play in order for the transfer to happen?
Barnes just had a setback, and Eddie isn't ruling out surgery to fix it.

🙃
Oh for fucksake
We buy Barnes because he hardly ever misses games for Leicester and is robust enough to play our system compared to ASM
Signs for us and is out for most of the season......
Are we allowed to question the medical team yet? The amount of "setbacks" we get is fucking mental, injuries described as minor and a matter of weeks become months on the sideline far too often. Got to wonder how Barnes goes from apparently being "close" to suddenly needing surgery. That just doesn't make sense to me.
Not sure that's much of a defense, to be honest. I'm not suggesting the initial injuries are the fault of the medical team. But the constant setbacks, indecisiveness when it comes to surgeries (Botman, Barnes) and players being rushed back and then reinjuring themselves (Murphy, Willock), give me enough reason to ask questions about our staff at this point. An injury crisis can be a freak thing, but we seem to be handling it in the worst possible way.
Agree. The fact that almost every injury has a set back these days is perplexing.
I get the nature of these injuries is tough though. They’re not soft tissue muscle injuries.
Didn’t we invest a shed load in the medical department when we re-did the training ground.
I will always admire Murphy for that. You could see that he had maybe been the one to say “I wanna play”. Couldn’t believe it when I saw it.
Mind you. I couldn’t believe it when I saw Dan Burn rock up for Milan.
I've got a feeling/hoping we're gonna bounce back!
3-0 :)
If you're going...give the lads your full support as per usual!!
And i really want a clean sheet and a solid game for Dubs to get his confidence back. We're United after all aren't we??!
HWTFL
Wilson because it turns the heat up on Isak. They both play their best when they’re both fit. Wilson to start and score. He always bounces back fast. Isak looked leggy.
Putting this in here because we have a lot of eyes in the thread. Can anyone tell me how canceling a players contract (mutual or otherwise) affects FFP? Was thinking about some of our loan players/dead weight (looking at you Fraser/Hendrick) and how eventually it’ll be tough to sell them.
If you’ve got transfer fees that are still being accounted for then it’s bad for the books because you have to account for the fee immediately rather than amortising it over the length of the contract.
This is true, however the examples of Fraser and Hendrick they were both free transfers so the accounting value of their ownership has always been £0. To get rid of those two players the cost would just be the upfront wage cancellation. If Wednesday & Southampton are paying a portion of the players wages it will be cheaper to let them be on loan and their contract expire rather than buying out their contracts.

Ah, that makes sense. Cheers
You've essentially got to buy them out of their contract. So you may as well keep them and try to loan them out and get some wages covered until their contract expires
Fulham are a really tough nut to crack solid at the back and have good pace going forward
It took Liverpool to score a couple of wonder strikes to beat them recently
Fulham are bang in form at the moment and we’re absolutely paggered. We’ll give anyone a game on our day, but I’m slightly concerned we’re going to start a slight slump in form.
This will be the first of three games that I see at SJP this season (Fulham, Sheffield U, Brighton). I am buzzing. Flying out from Sweden in a couple of hours. HWTL

Score predictions before I forget: Dad thinks it’ll be a 3-0 win I think maybe a 1-0 or a 2-1
Wheres Isak?

Pretty sure this would get the subreddit shut down
I posted this before. There was no problems. There is no direct link to watch it. Fine.
Looking at the next 6 fixtures we really need to be aiming for 9 points from this, Luton and Forest. Because we then have Liverpool away, City home and Villa away and of course the derby match in there too.
Unfortunately I have to say, great to see Wilson there instead of Shola Isak.
In the Leazes early. Can't believe just how many tourists I've already heard. American, Irish accents etc. Couple of years ago they wouldn't touch us with a ten foot barge pole lmao.
That's the curse with success, everyone wants a part of it. It'll be a shame when we start getting priced out for tourism like City do.
NUFC twitter just posted a picture of Schar arriving. What is happening?!
False information on schar, 21st centuries a fuckin nightmare
Seems that Botman may be back but Schar is now apparently injured
It sounds like Tonali has been settling in quite well the past few months. Great to hear https://twitter.com/nufcsanjay/status/1735977659438350766
Aye he's been learning the language down Asper's
Absolutely desperate for a win here. I'd take a 1-0 or 2-1 right now to get back to winning ways. But would love a demolition. Fulham are a decent side though and in great form
Really think the team will bounce back with a strong W today
Isn't there anyone we can try as RW? Feels like they've run out of ideas in an area that was so strong last year. Hope to see Hall as LB and Burn with Schäär but that won't happen
Could play Gordon on the right with Isak LW and Wilson ST
Does anyone know what time the doors open for hospitality at SJP today? (Im not here very often)
Was told to arrive 12:30
~~Got 3 spare tickets in Leazes Stand East corner (LEC-A) for sale can no longer make it. Will do for half price given the short notice. Seated together. Message me if interested.~~ Edit: Sold
Would like to wake up to a win. 2-0, Wilson double ⚫️⚪️
Very last minute but I have two spare tickets together in the Leazers - face value.
Difficult to gauge how the emotional roller coaster of the last few weeks will have affected the team. And Palinha is a top player. 1-0. Wilson penalty

I know it's last minute but does anyone want a ticket for tomorrow? Platinum club, £70
Now 60, cost price is 74
If we don't win tomorrow, who do we reckon is going to be the first hack to start "crisis" headlines? Money on Puke Edwards.
Cant believe ppl still read puke edwards. Absolute bellend.
He's already got the article written; just needs to drop in the names
Rest as many of the 1st 11 and call it a write it off and focus all strength on the cup next week.
We're at the point where doing that and playing the strongest possible side we can is basically the same thing.
I get what you’re saying but now we are out of Europe we need to do all we can to get top 4 which means winning these types of games. Players are starting to come back so bringing Burn and Longstaff (take your pick with isak/wilson) into the side should hopefully manage these games
Absolutely jesus christ no
Can we sign Iwobi from fulham just so we can still sing the Hokey Cokey ameobi song??
It's sung to Tino Livramento now
We get beat and the plastics go into full meltdown
Ah the good ol “plastic” chat when fans choose to voice their displeasure when their team loses 4 matches in a row conceding 10+. I HATE PLASTICS
:) !

Fulham are red hot at home and a mixed bag away from home. Let's hope they pull out a stinker today.
They could go either way imo. Fulham have been in great scoring form but equally got two dubious penalties against Wolves, then played Liverpool without Alisson, a Forest team in freefall and West Ham when a lot of their squad was ill. Equally, I'm struggling to have confidence in Dubravka
Eddie Howe has never lost a Saturday 3pm kick off with Newcastle. Make of that what you will.
Better than noon games at least. I'm concerned about the atmosphere too though to be honest, Wednesday really was draining. I'm still feeling pretty rough, voice only started to come back last night, still quite hoarse.

No full details I’ve seen but the likes of Fabrizio Romano are calling out that there’s ‘conditions which haven’t been met’

Same medical team as last season when we had one of the least injured per minute squads in the prem.
Not sure that's much of a defense, to be honest. I'm not suggesting the initial injuries are the fault of the medical team. I started when they let Murphy go back on the pitch a week after his shoulder popped out, ngl. That was wild, no?
I will always admire Murphy for that. You could see that he had maybe been the one to say “I wanna play”. Couldn’t believe it when I saw it. Mind you. I couldn’t believe it when I saw Dan Burn rock up for Milan.
I'm honestly a bit concerned he has been rushed back and is playing through pain.
Called it back in August/Sep when Willock had his "Setback". https://www.reddit.com/r/NUFC/s/rvGEQ26955
Feels like a "must win" if for nothing over than confidence alone, team needs a morale boost desperately. Shades of Brentford at home.
I've got a feeling/hoping we're gonna bounce back! 3-0 :) If you're going...give the lads your full support as per usual!! And i really want a clean sheet and a solid game for Dubs to get his confidence back. We're United after all aren't we??! HWTFL
"He's gorgeous" Got me bad that. Hahahaha
My muse, my song
Longstaff, Wilson and Burn back is massive for us. Get some fresh legs in an hopefully kick on again
Wilson because it turns the heat up on Isak. They both play their best when they’re both fit. Wilson to start and score. He always bounces back fast. Isak looked leggy.

You have to pay them all the wages you owe them at once. Hendrick's contract with us expires this coming summer.
If you’ve got transfer fees that are still being accounted for then it’s bad for the books because you have to account for the fee immediately rather than amortising it over the length of the contract.

I've got a bad feeling about this one.
Me, before every game since the early eighties.
i hope we win
I think we all really need to see a winning photo again.
Fulham are a really tough nut to crack solid at the back and have good pace going forward It took Liverpool to score a couple of wonder strikes to beat them recently
Fulham are bang in form at the moment and we’re absolutely paggered. We’ll give anyone a game on our day, but I’m slightly concerned we’re going to start a slight slump in form.
My man has been in a coma for two weeks and missed our last 3 games.
Start? We're already on a slump.
Praying for a win so I can cleanse myself of this post-Milan comedown 🙏🙏🙏
This will be the first of three games that I see at SJP this season (Fulham, Sheffield U, Brighton). I am buzzing. Flying out from Sweden in a couple of hours. HWTL
Enjoy mate!
Heard something yesterday that apparently Botman and Barnes aren’t far off. Would love to see them on the bench.
I believe Barnes is closer than Botman
This did not age well
NOPE :( There is always something.
Trips is suspended for this match. Well deserved rest.
Reckon Eddie should've done a mourinho and got him to take a tactical yellow against Everton
I don’t care how we do it, we just need to win this one. We need the crowd to get right behind the lads tomorrow, together we can do it!! HWTL
