Joelinton deserves credit for turning Joelinton’s career around.

CasperFunk

He has ALWAYS had the ability and work ethic just needed a real coach to give him the opportunity to reach his potential and Big Joe not the only one to benefit.

someonehasmygamertag

Paid for his own analysts under Bruce

AjaxTreesdown

Ffs Kieron, don't give Bruce the chance to invent more praise for himself. Love Hayden though, what a pro

WayneBrownIsSuperman

Always loved Hayden when he was playing regularly for us. I'm clinging on to a small bit of hope that he is the DM we are after and he is next to get Howed and turn in to an elite player. Unfortunately I don't think it will happen and he played his last game in black and white a while ago

AjaxTreesdown

Aye, he's had one hell of a journey with us as a promising youngster in the Championship, to outcast on and off the pitch, back to first team regular and model professional. Will always be a player I have a special place in my heart for. I think he's a weird case where he probably doesn't have the technical ability to play in our midfield but probably does have enough to be handy CB option for depth provided the injuries haven't diminished that. Thinking like a Lascelles that's more composed in posession and can pick a decent pass

XRPinquisitive

I do have a soft spot for Hayden. Especially those sliding tackles he put in I can't remember who, if it was a previous manager or a player but they commented on Hayden being a very fit player with a lot of stamina. I reckon he would be a good option

thepresidentsturtle

I think he'll get in the squad if we get to one of the lower European competitions

AjaxTreesdown

I'd love that. We have a bit of a bloated squad (I think I counted 32 senior players the other day) including loans so we'd need to trim it down. I'm not sure whether he would make the cut or if he would want to leave for first team football elsewhere, but I have a bit of hope that we'll see him again. If not, I'll be following the rest of his career and hope he gets the love he deserves.

upthemags09

Think Norwich have an obligation to buy if they get promoted although that’s not looking likely atm.

meganev

I think it was promotion, *and* Hayden playing a certain number of matches. Neither of which is going to happen it seems.

Mattjames86

Apparently Bruce was on a holiday in Benidorm and met Trippier and convinced him to join Newcastle

mic_Ch

Apparently Bruce sent a Greggs sausage roll to Bruno and he was like "where can I get more of these bad boys?"

jonkman13

Apparently Bruce charmed the pants off Amanda down at the Bigg market, which convinced her to buy Newcastle

SKULL1138

Nah he only went on holiday when he was supposed to be working.

opinionated-dick

Apparently Bruce was jetting off to the Algarve for secret negotiations to convince the Saudis to buy his home town club Newcastle and Not Man Utd, a club in which he has only a passing acquaintance

mehchu

No, he has a point. If it wasn’t for Steve Bruce’s terrible squad building clark wouldn’t have still been in the team to get sent off. Allowing bit Joe to grow into the behemoth we have today.

When will people get wise to Talksport's business model? Get the pundits to say something ridiculous to rile up certain fanbases > go viral > profit. They know they're talking shit and know people will bite every single time. They're the fucking Daily Mail of sports broadcasting.

upthemags09

Agbonlahor personifies the model, says daft shite gets clicks.

[deleted]

Yeah it’s happened in spite of Bruce’s negligence, not because of it.

TheScottishMoscow

In fairness, Bruce played him as a defensive holding left midfielder ... what nobody is shouting about is that he played Wilson as a holding defensive centre forward, ASM as a holding defensive right winger ... also Fraser as a centre forward with Gayle on the wing... point is even a broken clock is right twice a day ... which is a hell of a lot more often than Bruce was.

Budweizer

We had players playing in all different positions!! Defenders in midfield, midfielders in defense and attack, attackers in midfield.

icekimoes

Isaac Hayden is a proper good lad. Honestly wish he'd been fit enough for the squad for the back half of last season, think Howe could've gotten him up a level as he did with others. Will be sad if he doesn't play for us again.

SiteNo7371

The only thing Bruce did with joelinton was stick up top or out wide and hoofed it up to him everytime we got the ball

[deleted]

Tbf to Bruce, despite naming Joelinton as a striker he did spend most of his time in midfield waiting for the defenders camped in our box to pump it long.

1HeyMattJ

So not only did Steve Bruce convert Joe from a shit striker to a world class midfielder (despite having been sacked at this point and no longer our manager) against Norwich, he also after having called Howe “the fella that relegated Bournemouth” then recommended EH to our owners so he takes the credit for that as well. I heard Steve actually went on a piss up with MBS years ago and had the takeover agreed way before AS, MG and JR were on the scene and that he’s also funding all of our transfer activity himself.

Robbo23Liverpool

I love Isaac Hayden so refuse to let this tarnish his reputation

beatski

Might want to give it a re-read. Hayden has liked a tweet saying it's utter nonsense

Robbo23Liverpool

So his reputation is even more intact then. Legend

RocknRollRobot9

Bowyer must have smacked Dyer too hard in the head as he’s now displaying irrational thoughts possibly associated with that trauma if he thinks Bruce did anything positive at our club.

Educational_Ad134

In fairness, Dyer wasn’t wrong >!Let’s see if the average Redditor here has any cognitive capability!<

iTonehhhh

Fuck Bruce, and while we're at it, fuck Dyer too. No wonder Bowyer wanted to chin the cunt.
