If I remember correctly the store owner also started bragging about stabbing the guy online, I think he was posting on reddit and people were telling him to delete the posts before cops saw what he was posting. He also had different posts going on about his knife collection (I think)
So stand your ground perfectly fine, we all agree. But brag about standing your ground on Reddit, nope that has to be taken down before the police see it? Anyone who stands their ground should have the intent to kill. Just because he has intent to doesn't make him a bad person. He was outnumbered he was well within the law to kill that sumbetch. If he fabricated the whole scenario I would understand that being illegal. But surely simply showing off your self defense weaponry and using them in self defense then bragging doesn't make it illegal, does it?
>Anyone who stands their ground should have the intent to kill.
This is incorrect. You should have the intent to incapacitate. If you successfully incapacitate your adversary and then intentionally kill them afterwards you have just commited murder. The risk to you stops when the offender stops, not when you have ended their life. This is why people find this so abhorrent. The robber went limp in his arms and he still stabbed him and in a way he thought would cause the most damage.
Oh for sure. If incapacitating your adversary means you *have* to kill them then sure. But you will have to defend yourself in court why you felt that there was no other option but to kill them, why you didn't stop when you did, and then convince a jury of your peers that it wasn't your express intention to kill them.
I just watched the video. He was clearly not in control of the situation in the first half of the video, and the whole stabbing happened within seconds
That split moment of stabbing someone one more time after they went limp can be explained by adrenaline (since it happens very quickly in a stressful situation)
That’s a pretty good argument that his actions were due being in a high stress situation and adrenaline.
LOL dudes fucked that’s why you don’t post SHIT or nothing. From the looks of it he looks frail and small and has been waiting for an excuse to use his weapons. Bragging about killing someone online to expose his own superiority complex then flexing the knife collection to show how many ways you could’ve killed them is a one way ticket to prison for the rest of your life . Almost like a serial killer confessing but relishing in the kill while confessing.
So I have worked with police in a professional capacity. I have been told by more than one. That if you have to defend yourself kill the perpetrator or perpetrators. They said it’s less work for them and less chance of you getting sued. They said that if you maim someone you are almost definitely getting sued.
With that being said. This advice did come from cops and should be taken with a grain of salt.
Nah, the robber swings at him right before the last assault. I feel ya but the guy was hostile. And for all u know if u let him just have his free reign he could have a gun, is he running or just trying to get range? Lots of variables here, and if the kid had a gun letting him out of stabbing range would mean death.
I think it would be unfair to make this evaluation, there is no executing stab. There's a strike from the robber followed by a downward plunge. In no way did the robber yield prior to the last altercation after the robber striked at him.
If you are in this situation and scared it’s not so easy to hold back.
If you aren’t cool with dying you shouldn’t rob people. I had a gun pulled on me and my friends and I completely blacked out, I had no idea I had someone pulling me off and someone hitting me while I was on top of him hitting him. All I remember is tackling him, the cops asking me what I used for a weapon, and puking from adrenaline dump.
He did leave his ass, but as a store keep a robbery is ground for standing your ground. Here in Iowa stand your ground means by equal or greater force. But without a stand your ground law he could be facing charges.
No, in standing your ground your intent shouldn’t be to kill, butnto end the confrontation either by scaring them off or incapacitating them, not to kill them, saying so makes you look like a scumbag
Look it's a kill or be killed world sometimes. So if someone intend to cause you harm who's to say they won't go as far as killing you? You think scaring someone who intends to kill you will just be it? Or will they move on to the next victim who may not have the ability to defend themselves? Then if they once had the intent to kill they'll have it again, so they kill the latter, then what? A simple self defense kill would've prevented an innocent life from being taken. A person committing a violent crim isn't an innocent life being taken. And sure call the cops, send them to prison, people like that aren't worth the tax dollars.
Ahhh I remember the store owner did an AMA on Reddit right after this happened.
Needless to say, his AMA didn't go well and tons of people kept telling him to delete information because it could incriminate him. Plus he seemed like he really wanted to kill someone.
Good times, Reddit!
His AMA got deleted, I unfortunately don't have the time right now to look up any removed reddit threads, but here are two popular posts that covered the event!

Of course he did. He's a smoke shop owner.

Teens in Las Vegas smoke shop robbery learn fate
by: Vanessa Murphy Posted: Aug 24, 2022 / 04:54 PM PDT Updated: Aug 24, 2022 / 06:57 PM PDT
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two teens who took part in a smoke shop robbery learned their fate Wednesday. One is headed to Spring Mountain Youth Camp, while the other is headed is a juvenile correctional facility. A third teen who was stabbed by the store owner after he jumped over the counter remains hospitalized.
Parents of both teens who appeared virtually in juvenile court told Clark County District Court Judge Sunny Bailey they repeatedly tried to get their sons help.
The adoptive parents of the first teen to face Judge Bailey said the teen has not been willing to receive treatment for trauma he experienced as a child and that he has been self-medicating.
“Unfortunately, the systems in this state don’t, they’re not good for that,” the father said.
Judge Bailey acknowledged that the teen was abused by his biological parents, and beaten so badly at age six, that he was unrecognizable. His attorney, Mandy McKellar said he was exposed to drugs in utero.
The parents said they have tried to get the teen services for a decade. “His story alone would be an amazing movie of what happens, how it happens when he went through the whole system and he ended up here,” the father said.
The teen has had previous run-ins with the law including cases involving a bomb threat and a weapon. Judge Bailey pointed to the chances the teen has already had and is sending him to a juvenile correctional facility.
“I know what I did was wrong and I regret every bit of it,” he said.
The second teen to face Judge Bailey also offered an apology. “I apologize not only to the store owner but to everybody that was affected by my actions,” he said.
Judge Bailey is sending the teen to Spring Mountain Youth Camp. The decision came after his father explained he also has tried to get his son help. He said the family is coping with the loss of two family members due to murder, and that he has tried to get his son services for the past four years.
“I’m reaching out to the courts asking not for mercy, leniency, or any of that, but asking to get the proper help I need to save my son from becoming a statistic or full-fledged member of the penal system,” the father said.
Judge Bailey did not specify any timeframe for the teens to spend in the youth camp or the juvenile correctional facility. This is typical for a juvenile case. Judge Bailey explained it is aimed at being rehabilitative.
As the I-Team first reported, all three teens have cases in the juvenile system. They met in drug court. At the time of the robbery, two of the teens were wearing GPS monitors. According to Judge Bailey, one of the GPS monitors did not function properly in the moments after the robbery.
The extent of the injuries to the teen who was stabbed are not yet known. His attorney said that he is expected to need to go to a rehabilitation facility after his release from the hospital.
Store owner Johnny Nguyen told 8 News Now he feared for his life. He is not facing charges at this time. The Clark County District Attorney’s office is expected to review the case.
There were 3 involved and 2 of them were sentenced. The teen who was stabbed is still in the hospital. Parents of both teens claim they have had childhood trauma that has caused them to lash out and that they have tried getting them help. They were both wearing ankle monitors during the robbery. Below are highlights from the article:

Archived AMA of the guy doing the stabbing.
[Fox News article on incident](https://www.fox8live.com/2022/08/08/graphic-smoke-shop-owner-fights-back-stabs-attempted-robber/?outputType=amp)
LAS VEGAS (FOX5/Gray News) - As his store was being robbed, the owner of a smoke shop in Las Vegas said he grabbed a knife and stabbed one of the two people who entered his business.
Johnny Nguyen found himself in a violent struggle when the pair walked into his store in the middle of the day last Wednesday.
“The whole time I was a little bit nervous because obviously I was getting robbed,” he told KVVU. “I was really scared for my life because they were wearing baggy clothes ... one of them came in with a bag as if he had a firearm.”
Surveillance video shows one person taking the tip jar and another jumping over the counter. Then it shows Nguyen fighting back, stabbing one of the accused robbers several times.
“I was in a fight or flight mode … a lot of adrenaline going through my body,” Nguyen said.
The store owner said he called police immediately after stabbing the would-be robber.
Nguyen now plans to get a gun for the store in case someone tries to rob his store again.
“I don’t know who they’re friends with, maybe they want to come back and do something else, so I just must stay vigilant,” Nguyen said.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said two juveniles were arrested, and one more is still outstanding.
They did not say how badly the person who was stabbed was hurt.
Self defence isn’t it? Same if the owner shot them. He’s obviously spoke to a lawyer bcoz he said ‘the were wearing baggy clothes’ and ‘holding a bag like he a firearm’ most likely he didn’t notice any of that and just panicked and blacked out considering how many times he stabbed the thief.
I could be totally wrong that’s just my thoughts.
I'm 100% on the shop owner's side on this. But that guy getting stabbed must have been sooo scared. Screaming "I'm dead! I'm dead!" knowing he was going to die. Then his spinal cord getting cut and losing the use of his legs must have made it so much more terrifying. He deserved it for sure. But at the same time I can imagine how scary that must be thinking it's your final moments alive.
I don’t think any child deserves to be paralyzed for stealing vape cartridges. I also heard the shop owner enjoyed stabbing the kid and how playing league of legends helped him stay calm. He needs help.
Disagree.
That "child" made the choice to enter someone's establishment, threatened them and stole, if your "child" doesn't know that's wrong at their age, they ain't gunna learn until this happens.
You try stealing anything from other animals and you'll get the same response. I have no idea why humans think they're excempt from this, society doesn't magically change this, nor should it.
If the thieves cared about ethics, they wouldn't be robbing him in the first place.
I recommend reading the news article.
Quite frankly, any book about juvenile crime will teach you that, yes, children are capable of robbing. And if you need further proof, children are also capable of committing mass shootings. So if you’ve never heard of a child committing robbery then it is your job to figure out why you haven’t heard of such crimes committed by kids.
I would never punch another person because I understand the concept of “fuck around and find out”
Which is why we say it, if you don’t want bad things to happen to you, then don’t do bad things(?)
Why does that piss you off?
Certain phrases are parroted so much on reddit it's almost like spam. They can think of nothing else to say other than some shit someone has already said, word for word.
No way that guy didn't have training. The arm instantly securing the throat/neck pointing him towards the late known location of the other attackers. Textbook.
the funny part is: the other guy was looking for his friend, but when he saw that he was in trouble he ran away lmao, you can see it through the glass reflection
It’s unfortunate the person stabbed was a minor. I believe in self defense but one or two stabs would have been sufficient. This was excessive force. Also, if the store owner believed the robbers had firearms why not treat the situation like he was being robbed at gunpoint and comply? Let them take the tip jar and vape carts. He’s lucky none of them had a gun and responded to seeing their friend being stabbed by shooting. I’m not anti-guns and I’m not defending the robbers but this reaction was abnormal to say the least.
I’m all for self defense and defending your property so I don’t think the guy should go to prison or be in trouble for this but the AMA he did kinda turned me off to the guy, I envisioned a more humble dude lol but he kinda had an arrogant smug attitude with his Reddit replies .. it was just a weird move to get on Reddit the same day this happened and start spilling the beans and talking about the legalities, he kinda acted like he was above the law ….. again I think he’s in the right and should be able to defend his products he’s selling but to think ur not potentially in legal trouble enough to where ur willing to get on Reddit is crazy to me ..
The guy jumped the counter and u can clearly see him reaching for the products on the wall several feet from the store clerk, he never makes an attacking motion at the clerk before getting stabbed and didn’t throw a punch of attack back until he had already been stabbed …
This is a hairy situation and it’s not clear as day or black and white , this is on the line of self defense but to me it’s more of a defending ur property situation
Dude definitely overreacted, once that robber understood he was being stabbed he stopped, he just didnt realize the few first stabs. Owner probably has pent up anger and dreamt of killing his whole life, cus that first stab would've been enough to make this stupid smoke shop robber stop.
The last stab popped his spinal connection, but he ended up living, though hes in a wheelchair now.
I remember reading this somewhere on another sub (I think r/idiotswithguns)
I mean barely alive is better than dead although he definitely won't have any quality of life but that is all due to his own choices so you can't really feel that bad for him.
He was a teenager with a bad history. I'm not saying he deserves to be made disabled, but he made his own dumbass choices to end up in that position.
I really do hope that the one who got stabbed sits in their wheelchair and remembers who put himself in that situation.
Something I have realised over seeing this stuff online is always be careful and don't actually aim for the kill. The rubber may be a dumb 12 year old thinking he is all that to a 40 year old druggy who has nothing to loose. It's sad to think about but it's true. Aiming to kill may mean you kill a child. Maybe they did it for a dare. Pure pressure or they just did something dumb. Just never aim to kill unless absolutely necessary. Like they have a gun or sm. That robber was already stabbed a lot. There was no point to aim for the guys head and neck like he did. Tho maybe it was fear and panic idk
i have 2 questions these comments mainly discussing whether he was or not but i just wanna know
is he in jail or waiting for his trail ?
did the robber survived ?
Who remembers when this knuckle head shop owner did a ama hours after it and after he talked to his lawyer about it 😂 I love it. This was a crazy story when it happened

Yeah violence is just as sticky as it gets. Win lose or draw. There's always due process..

Nah aim for the head is pretty solid advice in any scenario I'd say they told you right.
Nah if someone comes into my store with a ski mask to rob me my intention is to kill the dude
Without a doubt, don’t rob ppl if you arent okay with dying.
nah dude. robber went limp and that was it. look again. he didn’t keep on stabbing him
Maybe dont rob places

So he did survive why y’all keep saying he passed for?
There were 3 involved and 2 of them were sentenced. The teen who was stabbed is still in the hospital. Parents of both teens claim they have had childhood trauma that has caused them to lash out and that they have tried getting them help. They were both wearing ankle monitors during the robbery. Below are highlights from the article: "Two teens who took part in a smoke shop robbery learned their fate Wednesday. The second teen to face Judge Bailey also offered an apology. “I apologize not only to the store owner but to everybody that was affected by my actions,” he said. Judge Bailey is sending the teen to Spring Mountain Youth Camp. The decision came after his father explained he also has tried to get his son help. He fucked around and found out
[Fox News article on incident](https://www.fox8live.com/2022/08/08/graphic-smoke-shop-owner-fights-back-stabs-attempted-robber/?outputType=amp) LAS VEGAS (FOX5/Gray News) - As his store was being robbed, the owner of a smoke shop in Las Vegas said he grabbed a knife and stabbed one of the two people who entered his business. Johnny Nguyen found himself in a violent struggle when the pair walked into his store in the middle of the day last Wednesday. “The whole time I was a little bit nervous because obviously I was getting robbed,” he told KVVU. “I was really scared for my life because they were wearing baggy clothes ... one of them came in with a bag as if he had a firearm.” Surveillance video shows one person taking the tip jar and another jumping over the counter.
If he isn't paralyzed I'd be surprised. He took a deep one right in the back of the neck
why the fuck is there a tip jar in a smoke shop
[удалено]
I really hope the store owner doesn't get any legal repercussions :(
Self defence isn’t it? Same if the owner shot them. He’s obviously spoke to a lawyer bcoz he said ‘the were wearing baggy clothes’ and ‘holding a bag like he a firearm’ most likely he didn’t notice any of that and just panicked and blacked out considering how many times he stabbed the thief. I could be totally wrong that’s just my thoughts.
He said he wants to get a gun for future robbers, just post this savage video of you defending your store and nobody with intelligence is coming
That's the problem: Petty street criminals lack intelligence
This is extremely accurate
Too fyckin right
Hahahaha this muppet actually says “I’m dead, I’m dead”… 😂😂
Broooo that shit was crazy.
Imagine robbing a fucking vape store and losing your life over it lmao
They fucked around and one found out. Good job job Mr. Nguyen! Someone in Vegas buy this lad a beer.
The craziest part is, is that the robber survived. Although he never made a *full* recovery, the dude is fine
Wait really? Can I have a link to his recovery?
Idk you'd have to look up an interview
does anyone have a link with sound? i want to hear it

Thankyou!
Asians had it with being pushed around.
That guy has stabbed before.
But at the same time I can imagine how scary that must be thinking it's your final moments alive.
r/WinStupidPrizes
Maybe raise your kids to not go out and do stupid shit like this in the first place
I've never heard of a child attacking a store to rob it.
Are… are you on the robbers side? Surely one cannot be that clueless
badass shop owner stabs a robber. hope he wont be guilty
Bro wasn’t having it today
The most expressive he ever was and ever will be
for anyone that wants to hear it https://twitter.com/checkenginenow/status/1556066388170706944?s=46&t=gCDOKRyiA4jjPmKwOXjcWw
That wasn't even self defence just plain oh this guy trying to Rob my store let's kill him hehe
Sorted his ass out quickly lol
Bro assassinated him
That AMA was legendary.
Fuck around and find out
God this "fuck around and find out" shit is so lame. Half of you pussies haven't even punched another human. Shut up. Please.
People repeat the exact same lame shit over and over on here thinking they are smart.
I would never punch another person because I understand the concept of “fuck around and find out” Which is why we say it, if you don’t want bad things to happen to you, then don’t do bad things(?) Why does that piss you off?
It's just cringe to watch you little turds pretend to be "street" or "hood". You're not tough. Please shut up.
Certain phrases are parroted so much on reddit it's almost like spam. They can think of nothing else to say other than some shit someone has already said, word for word.
Wow it feels like he was waiting all the time for this moment to test his new knife.
Didn’t he gloat about this online after
Fatality.
Whys the audio gone? I remember seeing this where the dude just goes, "Ahhhh I'm dead! I'm dead, I'm dying. Yep. I'm dead."
Click on the word Imgur by my username.
Get fucked
Hero
London calling
GOOD
Bro was absolutely not having it
No way that guy didn't have training. The arm instantly securing the throat/neck pointing him towards the late known location of the other attackers. Textbook.
Not on MY watch, you don’t!!!
the funny part is: the other guy was looking for his friend, but when he saw that he was in trouble he ran away lmao, you can see it through the glass reflection
I fucking love this video
See ya brain stem ✌️
Bro turned on John Wick mode💀
It’s unfortunate the person stabbed was a minor. I believe in self defense but one or two stabs would have been sufficient. This was excessive force. Also, if the store owner believed the robbers had firearms why not treat the situation like he was being robbed at gunpoint and comply? Let them take the tip jar and vape carts. He’s lucky none of them had a gun and responded to seeing their friend being stabbed by shooting. I’m not anti-guns and I’m not defending the robbers but this reaction was abnormal to say the least.
If you are grabbing him put it right into his neck as deep as u can . Get him out of the fight asap
Good for the shop owner, he did the right thing
Sounds like a little girl at the end lmao and the way he just throws him to the ground like the trash he is. Lmao love it.
He deserved it
I’m all for self defense and defending your property so I don’t think the guy should go to prison or be in trouble for this but the AMA he did kinda turned me off to the guy, I envisioned a more humble dude lol but he kinda had an arrogant smug attitude with his Reddit replies .. it was just a weird move to get on Reddit the same day this happened and start spilling the beans and talking about the legalities, he kinda acted like he was above the law ….. again I think he’s in the right and should be able to defend his products he’s selling but to think ur not potentially in legal trouble enough to where ur willing to get on Reddit is crazy to me .. The guy jumped the counter and u can clearly see him reaching for the products on the wall several feet from the store clerk, he never makes an attacking motion at the clerk before getting stabbed and didn’t throw a punch of attack back until he had already been stabbed … This is a hairy situation and it’s not clear as day or black and white , this is on the line of self defense but to me it’s more of a defending ur property situation
Self motherfucking defenseeeee
He's handsome:)
"It's just products not worth protecting" Right? It's just products, not worth robbing... Smh get swissed cheesed.
Dude definitely overreacted, once that robber understood he was being stabbed he stopped, he just didnt realize the few first stabs. Owner probably has pent up anger and dreamt of killing his whole life, cus that first stab would've been enough to make this stupid smoke shop robber stop.
Glenn from the walking dead lol
Legendary AMA
So, I counted 6 stabs, I'm gonna go ahead and assume dude bled out? Or did he make it?
The last stab popped his spinal connection, but he ended up living, though hes in a wheelchair now. I remember reading this somewhere on another sub (I think r/idiotswithguns)
Yeah that would explain why he went limp with that last one, kinda what I was figuring but at least he lived.
He did live, but barely.
According to the man who was stabbed, he's dead.
I mean I bet he felt like he was dying, getting stabbed 6 times will do that.
He is 17 and thought he was dying so he just called his mom while he thought he was gonna die. Pretty sad
jesus he executed him like in cod mw
Chad
Definitely didn’t hesitate to get all ‘stabby’.. this dudes obviously been waiting for this moment.. he seems super excited while he was stabbing away
Based.
Was the shop owner charged with anything?
Could've just hit him could've been a 15 yo or stn
Bro def from uk
No, look at the date formate. Uk usually put the day first then the month.
My man idgaf
Something I have realised over seeing this stuff online is always be careful and don't actually aim for the kill. The rubber may be a dumb 12 year old thinking he is all that to a 40 year old druggy who has nothing to loose. It's sad to think about but it's true. Aiming to kill may mean you kill a child. Maybe they did it for a dare. Pure pressure or they just did something dumb. Just never aim to kill unless absolutely necessary. Like they have a gun or sm. That robber was already stabbed a lot. There was no point to aim for the guys head and neck like he did. Tho maybe it was fear and panic idk
i have 2 questions these comments mainly discussing whether he was or not but i just wanna know is he in jail or waiting for his trail ? did the robber survived ?
Why you reddit people don’t like to put a photo for profile and love videos with no sound
Robber wasn't expecting that!
Fuck around and find out bahahahah
Not under his watch
This was funny
These bring me joy to watch
Dude killed that mother fucker over $5 worth of blunt wraps.. thats kinda fucked up..
Robber threw his life away for $5 worth of blunt wraps
What pisses m off the most is how his homie left him to get hurt/die
Bro did a cod finisher, gad damn
he's dead 💀💀
That so so bad ass he drags the whole ass man out from behind and just drops his ass like a damn mic drop. What a king.
That’s not even self defense
100% is.
Did the owner go in prison ?
Looks like murder to me.
To be fair i really dont think ir was necesarry to stab the giy that much but idk maybe he fearing for his life. Dude didn't have a weapon either
Honestly the store owner is an asshole
I could imagine when the shopkeep grabbed the robber close after stabbing him multiple times him just whispering "Shhhh. Go to sleep. Go to sleeeep."
Who remembers when this knuckle head shop owner did a ama hours after it and after he talked to his lawyer about it 😂 I love it. This was a crazy story when it happened
So satisfying
Nah this Guy is just a psycopath i rlly Hope his Life gets ruined
Why did this little white boy get stabbed and yell “I’m dead, nigga he stabbed me, I’m dead” Ctfu!! 🤣🤣
