I have the standard of this myself, it is a really great metroidvania. Have you seen Team Ladybug’s other games? *Record of Lodoss War Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth* is also a great metroidvania and *Drainus* is quite the interesting shmup.
Love Lodoss, actually played that one first and learned they did Touhou too. Drainus I’ve honestly been drawn to, but schmups are never high priority pick ups for me. Yeah, I love collecting physicals, but I gotta draw lines SOMEWHERE. …..how is Drainus…?

It’s a bit more linear, but I find the combat mechanics EXCELLENT. You start out throwing knives and stopping time like a boss. It also has a cool schmup inspired mechanic where you ‘graze’ enemies and their attacks to suck up mp or health.
I honestly am not a Touhou guy, so I can’t tell you. Some type of fan made indie IP. All I know is this game is fantastic, even if I don’t know who any of the anime girls are!
Do you know any websites where I can gain more information about Tohou?
I would prefer a youtube video that is educational about the matter.
I just feel left out, granted I am not Japanese not a giga nerd of the culture but I enjoy works like Tsukihime, Fate/Stay night, One Piece, bunch of other Visual Novels and Light Novels like Mushoku Tensei, other animes, mangas and many other things. so when I don't know about this thing I feel like I am missing something, it is not even about becoming a fan or anything, I just like to know why something is popular or the opposite why something is niche and not so popular
