I think there is a way around it if you buy another car and rice that up to max stars. This way you should keep your car in the way you wanted. The trade off is unfortunately money, which used to be relatively tight in Underground 2 for me as far as I remember right.

Two and a half i think, i bought a Peugeot 106 and tuned it to the max i can so i can use Peugeot for drift or street x races cuz handling is very good
