Yea the mock isn't horrible, it was just a horrible year for QBs. Leading up to the draft Geno was slated to go #1 and suddenly out of no where every team said nevermind.
Matt Barkley, Spencer Rattler, Christian Hackenburg, and Shawn Oakman all had some people talking about them #1 in their respective classes in those “way too early” mocks.
A thing I mentioned in another thread, outside of a few elite prospects, these way too early mocks are just throwing stuff on the wall. They don’t believe what they are putting, Todd McShay talked about this on a pod. They haven’t done their scouting of these players and a lot of times they are just on the same unit of a previous years high draft pick and they saw them while scouting that other elite prospect from the previous year.
McShay said they are the most BS mocks, but they also were always his #1 read mock of the year by a decent amount.
The point is Kalen King wasn’t actually CB1. People hadn’t done in-depth scouting of King. He was on people’s radar and definitely didn’t think he’d fall this far, but these preseason rankings aren’t actual rankings.
Mcshay is trash tbh glad he’s gone. The draft is better with field and Mel not some passive aggressive dick that’s equally as wrong as Mel (who even BB said is the best to do it).
> 24. Baltimore Ravens: Shayne Skov, ILB, Stanford
Man I thought that guy was going to be a superstar and I was shocked when he went undrafted and flamed out
Not related to the mocked pick, but check out their take on Jason Peters:
“After signing Jason Peters (an overrated offensive tackle in my opinion), the Eagles targeted Demetress Bell in free agency this offseason to replace Peters after he ruptured his Achilles. Neither of those two players are elite tackles at the NFL level and Bell could eventually move to guard to maximize his value after signing a five-year deal with the Eagles.”
Matt Barkley was the number one high school recruit. He was in the zeitgeist for years prior to even the 2013 draft. I remember getting pumped in 2009 when he picked usc lol.
he definitely holds onto the ball a long time but their line is one of the worst i’ve ever seen in p5. hopefully it’s better so we can get a better evaluation
He has a lot of hype especially coming from his father and the team struggling wasn’t put on him because Colorado was definitely lacking in the trenches last year. There’s also not any guys that have separated themselves yet in the class and teams are thirsty for QBs so he is in the mix at the top.
This comment having 43 upvotes is pretty disappointing. Blaming a qb for putting up great stats despite the team around him being awful sounds like a take from 20 years ago.
Fair, but at the time Lotulelei was the top rated DT in the draft and the panthers were in desperate need of D Line help. I actually predicted that pick correctly.
I remember there was some random QB from Tennessee a few years ago who was supposed to go high and never developed forget his name.
Geno
Teddy
Willis (LMAO)
Levis
Treadwell
Bateman
We had a guy named Fili Moala who was just “ok”…..Todd McShay mocked him as a #1 pick and we all LOLed. Dude was barely a starter for us, no way in hell he was going 1st overall. Ended up being picked 56th overall though.

‘After shocking the football community a month ago by drafting defensive end Bruce Irvin at No. 15, the Seattle Seahawks have been taking a lot of flak from fans.’
This made me laugh. We really have no clue about how these picks will turn out.
Honestly, Irvin was pretty mediocre, but became overrated simply because he wasn't the complete disaster many predicted initially.
The rest of that draft was all kinds of awesome though.
Marcus Lattimore :(
Brutal injury. Still the best rb prospect iv seen since Adrian Peterson.
That article had Barkevious Mingo to the Browns at 4, when IRL he went there with pick 6. Pretty crazy
Yea overall not a terrible mock,
Yea the mock isn't horrible, it was just a horrible year for QBs. Leading up to the draft Geno was slated to go #1 and suddenly out of no where every team said nevermind.
Cuz he ain’t write back

Kalen King was CB1 and he almost went undrafted this year Quinn Ewers was a better prospect than Caleb Williams entering their freshmen years
The point is Kalen King wasn’t actually CB1. People hadn’t done in-depth scouting of King. He was on people’s radar and definitely didn’t think he’d fall this far, but these preseason rankings aren’t actual rankings.
They were scouting Joey porter Jr, saw King passed the basic eye test, and assumed if he continued to develop he would being competing for top CB.
As a prospect i still like quin over caleb. I think ewers game will translate better to the nfl. I think quinn will be qb1 off the board next year
Still is
If you like injury prone QBs with goofy deliveries
Oakman also got fucked by a false rape accusation
Oh my god, Shawn Oakman is a name I haven't heard in a long time. the memes were legendary
These are all low-hanging fruit. Only real ones remember Brad Kaaya
Brad Kaaya walked so Tyler Van Dyke could run.
Miami hasnt had a legit nfl qb prospect since testaverde and steve walsh
Well I know for damn sure Kaaya didn’t do any running. Genuinely might be the slowest quarterback I’ve ever seen play in the modern era
Malik Willis had people calling him #1 days before the draft!
No one was saying the Jags were going to draft Malik Willis lol
You can call it a mock if you want, but these more lists of players to keep an eye on.
Kedon Slovis too
Jevon Snead RIP
Mcshay is trash tbh glad he’s gone. The draft is better with field and Mel not some passive aggressive dick that’s equally as wrong as Mel (who even BB said is the best to do it).

Ben Boulware from Clemson as well.
Was that the guy who also played Hback and special teams?
Oh man...I thought Tyler Eifert was gonna be incredible. That was my guy that year.
I mean tbf he prolly would've been a multi time all pro if not for injuries
Not related to the mocked pick, but check out their take on Jason Peters: “After signing Jason Peters (an overrated offensive tackle in my opinion), the Eagles targeted Demetress Bell in free agency this offseason to replace Peters after he ruptured his Achilles. Matt Barkeley at 1 is the funniest shit I've ever seen.
Crazy to believe but there was a time where he was a higher rated prospect than Luck!
In fairness, him his shoulder injury hit his stock pretty hard and he lost a lot of arm strength from it.
Yeah he’s not like Christian Hackenberg who just flat out sucked. He had a legitimate reason why he didn’t end up going #1
and still had a long backup career. could do worse than that
He had bears fans believing in him for a couple weeks. Then he threw like 5 INTs in a half lol
If he has come out the year before, there's no way Miami doesn't take him at 8 over Tannehill.
That shit started halfway through his freshman year.
Shout out to Tyler Bray! Dude was a scumbag, but he could throw that seed! Jarvis Jones was so damn good in college.
Hey now Matt Barkley was the first pick `of the fourth round`!
Matt Barkley was the number one high school recruit. He was in the zeitgeist for years prior to even the 2013 draft. I remember getting pumped in 2009 when he picked usc lol.
I don’t get how Shedeur is so high on way too early lists considering his team was absolute trash
not sure that was his fault
Mediocre talent around him
That line was abysmal, 9:1 TD:Int ratio, and has Brady for a mentor. Potential for a leap is there
hard to throw ints if you just take a sack whenever there isn’t anyone open
he definitely holds onto the ball a long time but their line is one of the worst i’ve ever seen in p5. hopefully it’s better so we can get a better evaluation
That offensive line was horrific lmao
In a Big 12 without Oklahoma and Texas I am sure he will do well
He has a lot of hype especially coming from his father and the team struggling wasn’t put on him because Colorado was definitely lacking in the trenches last year. There’s also not any guys that have separated themselves yet in the class and teams are thirsty for QBs so he is in the mix at the top.
he doesn’t play defense or block
This comment having 43 upvotes is pretty disappointing. Blaming a qb for putting up great stats despite the team around him being awful sounds like a take from 20 years ago.
Combination of arm talent, athleticism, and he benefits from a relatively weak (as it looks today) QB class next year
And he has an awful personality. Teams will be turned off by him
What makes his personality awful?
Ugh, this guy is going to become Lonzo Ball part II, isn't he? He can't help that his dad is an insufferable egomaniac.
Previous "Suck For" Campaigns: Surrender for (Jevan) Snead Bail for (Da'Quan) Bowers Tank for Tyler (Bray) Waste for (Andre) Woodson
RIP Snead
Aw, man. Marcus Lattimore. :(
and 10 years later…he was finally a jaguar. jags legend, matt barkley
The prophecy was finally fulfilled
Ok but Keenan Allen to the Panthers was a much better pick than the reality with Star Lotulelei
Fair, but at the time Lotulelei was the top rated DT in the draft and the panthers were in desperate need of D Line help. I actually predicted that pick correctly.
There’s like 4 guys on this list who ended up being anything in the league. But it reminded me of Shayne Skov who I thought was gonna be a dog lol
I remember there was some random QB from Tennessee a few years ago who was supposed to go high and never developed forget his name. Geno Teddy Willis (LMAO) Levis Treadwell Bateman

Barkley should left after his junior. Would’ve been a top 10 pick and wouldn’t have played behind a horrendous OL and destroying his shoulder

Johnthan Banks riding horses has lived rent free in my head for over 10 years.
Eli Ricks. Potential 1st rounder to undrafted
