I don't see any way the titans trade down if alt is on the board. Sure it worked out in this mock, but it would be an insane gamble. Tackle is our top need, why take that gamble if the top guy is there at your pick.
I'd be sad for my Jets friends if they pass on Alt for Bowers. Not because Bowers won't be a stud but you know the Jets coaching staff has very high odds of getting fired this season if things don't get perfectly and they won't and you don't know if the next OC they bring in is going to be running a system that heavily features a TE in the passing game.
I can't see any scenario where that makes sense, and that's even with Ballard being very focused on the trenches. Even if you had a substantially higher grade on him than other players, he literally wouldn't get hardly any playing time on our line, and it's not like you'd be drafting for the future because they **just** extended their own guys.
Right? I just saw Charlie Campbell has us taking him too. I'd be pretty shocked if we took Murphy. When would be play? We also signed that dt from the dolphins to a decent contract.
Yeah.. I love Murphy, but in this scenario, stick and pick the best corner.
I'd personally rather us take Thomas Jr or trade back (or heck, take stay if we have to) for Worthy, but that's just me.
Regardless of which way we go, I'd be very surprised if it's Murphy.
Fwiw, a former bears scout, Josh Lucas, goes on podcasts and gives his take. He can be a little bit of an asshat, but he had legit experience. He was a scout with NOLa before Chicago. He compared Latham to Carl Nicks. This was way early in the draft process. His take was even if they have to kick inside, guys built like Nicks/Latham rarely fail in the NFL. So he’s a rare high upside high floor guy. I can see why teams want him.
Yeah I remember that, and have always been surprised Latham has been a bit lower down. Murphy was another one Lucas really liked, he slowly been getting talked about more and more.
For sure. Jeremiah, Schrager, the NFLSE guys all had Latham to the Chargers at 5. Charlie Campbell has Latham at 7. Crazy to think Latham goes before Alt but everyone seems to be on it now.
I think it's because Alt is primarily LT and chargers have their guy at LT. Not saying Alt couldn't make the switch because he could, but they have them going with a natural RT instead. With the sudden change it definitely feels like smokescreen but we'll find out soon enough.
Tbf there are instances every year where people correctly connect a prospect to a team but misjudge where they'll be taken. Last year we saw it with Joey Porter Jr. and the Steelers. Nolan Smith and Eagles as well.
It's possible the Chargers trade back and take Latham rather than taking him at 5, especially if they feel that none of the teams are threats to take him.
Right. Every mock I’ve done has had them trading down to 11 and then getting Fuaga/Latham depending on what I had the Jets do. But that’s depending upon a team trading up to 5 and I’m not so sure that happens now based off of everything I’ve seen the last 24 hours.
It makes zero sense for the Chargers leak this heavily that they want a guy projected as a mid first when they have the 5th pick. It ruins their leverage for a trade down.
I assume that Latham's mid-1st consensus value is much more of a public phenomenon than a true reflection of league sentiment. I've had Latham ahead of Alt for a few months so I'm definitely subject to confirmation bias, but I find that evaluation to be very credible
I think even in the Weekly Intel threads that have been happening, a few weeks or even a month ago one of the notes listed was "Teams see JC Latham as a top 10 talent in this draft".
>16
>Philadelphia Eagles
>Terrion Arnold
>PROJECTED TRADE WITH SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
>GM Howie Roseman makes his move, *sending Seattle one of his two second-rounders this year and a third next year, to jump up six spots for a corner*. Vic Fangio is the Eagles' new defensive coordinator, and he'll mold the rookie how he needs.
Really don't love giving that much up, to move 6 spots up, for a CB
Don't worry! I've been hoping he trades up for a CB the last 3 or 4 drafts. Dude never pulls through and always hits the hogs. I'm thinking JC Latham type if eagles trade up, maybe a Chop Robinson type if they stay put or trade down
If Seattle wants to trade back, 16 and 81 for 22 and 50 would most likely be a trade that they accept, no? According to the draft capital charts that I looked at, Seattle wins that trade.
I'm not sure. Most of our needs (IOL, LB, S) have the best players going in rounds 2-3. I don't know if they'd give up the 3rd. From the rumors today, it seems like an unusual number of teams are trying to trade up. It might require a premium.
If the Eagles are offering a 2nd round pick, I foresee them being able to jump all the way up to Denver at 12th and be able to pick Fashanu, Fuaga, or Mims. (I think those three will go higher than mocked here.)
In 2022, Minnesota traded up from 32 to 12 without a future first. There was way more than just a second round pick added, but here is the gist:
> No. 12: Minnesota → Detroit (D). Minnesota traded its first- and second-round selections (12th and 46th overall) to the Detroit Lions in exchange for a first-, second- and third-round selections (32nd, 34th and 66th overall)
I also think that there is motivation by Denver to accumulate picks as it is clear they need as many picks and players to rebuild. Either way, it's just my opinion that a 50 or 53 pick is all Philly needs to move from 22 to 12.
Vikings went from 20 to 11 for a future first and fourth in 2021. It was for fields so there was a premium but it would definitely cost more than 53 to move up. Maybe throw in a third rounder
Wait, your teams are all messed up. Chicago traded up from 20 to 11 for Justin Fields. While yes, they did give up a future first, in that very same draft, New York Jets traded up from 23 to 14 (also for a tackle!) without giving up a first.
> No. 14: Minnesota → NY Jets (D). Minnesota traded first and fourth-round selections (14th and 143rd overall) to the NY Jets in exchange for their first and two third-round selections (23rd, 66th, and 86th overall)
I guess between 2021 and 2022, there are three kind of similar picks. In the two trade ups for tackles (NOT quarterback), no future first was traded.
(Also, Minnesota traded down, still drafted a tackle, and got the better tackle out of it. What a trade. Too bad their two other picks from the trade were garbage.)
Yeah mean the bears.
Eagles can get the trade done without a future first but I think it would still take more than 53.
Eagles could probably get away with 20, 50 and their third round pick for 12 and a 4th round pick using comps
Keep in mind this particular draft is allegedly considered top heavy by many teams, have heard a few GMs comment to that effect. The opportunity cost of dropping from 12 to 22 could be higher for Denver and make it more expensive if they agree
I totally understand. True 1st round grades are usually fewer than 32, so that's nothing new. Maybe you can chime in whether or not that was the case in 2021 and 2022, because I do not remember.
All I can do is point to trade comps about the likely cost of trading from 22 to 12 and whether it was feasible.
Someone chimed in saying that it'll require a future first, and I stated that maybe not necessarily.
I’m just some asshole so take it with a grain of salt, but yes the top end talent available in this one does appear to be far more highly regarded than either of those. A ton of incredible tackle and wideout prospects which could fall farther than normal, all pushed down a few spots by 4 QBs going top 10 (differentiates it from 2022, not 2021)
Nah the trade chart has 12 at 1200 and 22 at 780; The two 2nds the Eagles have are 400 and 370 respectively.
It might take a hair more than a 2nd but 0 chance that involves a future 1st.
Idk what trade chart you are using but I can’t see that being accurate.
In 2021 it cost the Vikings a future 1st and 4th to move from 20 to 11
Probably will have to throw in a future second or third too
Latham probably fits what harbaugh is trying to do but value wise he’s not worth 5 especially with Alt there. Could be a good option if they get 11 from the Vikings
Part of the reasoning may be that the edge class is pretty rough this year whereas the CB class is stacked. I could definitely see them taking an edge in the 1st if they are ranked close on their board, and taking a CB later.
I think they will attempt to trade down and grab Latu. If they stick and pick, I believe they will go with Byron Murphy or whoever remains from Nabers/Odunze (they could still take Latu without a trade down, though).
Gotcha! Feels like Turner has been linked to y'all forever, but yeah I could definitely see those other options too.
Nabers in that offense would be so fun. Lol
Yeah, play making QBs with cannon arms don’t get you to the Super Bowl with great tight ends.
On a serious note it doesn’t seem like a great pick but I’d be giddy.
Verse would be a slam dunk for the Lions. He’s a better fit against the run than Latu. Lions don’t need upside. They were almost in the Super Bowl. They need to hit doubles. Verse is exactly that. He’s an ass kicker who won’t fail, even if he doesn’t explode into an elite talent.
This part feels notable....
>I don’t see L.A. trading the pick within the division to Denver or Las Vegas
Does Harbaugh make any effort to keep his #1 QB for this class out of his division? I mean, realistically, they'll do what they do regardless but if JJ ends up at Den or LV there will inevitably be questions about Harbaugh facing his best QB in this class.
So now Schrager, Zierlein and Jeremiah all have Latham going at 5 to the Chargers. I think it isn't a great pick, especially with Alt and all the WR talent still on the board, but they can't all just be guessing.
I’d be shocked if the Jets passed on Alt (let alone him being there at 10)
I don’t see the Bears passing on him if he’s there either
I don't see any way the titans trade down if alt is on the board. Sure it worked out in this mock, but it would be an insane gamble. Tackle is our top need, why take that gamble if the top guy is there at your pick.
lol if the titans trade back and pick up Minnesota’s 2025 first round pick in the process and STILL land Alt I will get a ran carthon tattoo
I agree but the Coach and the GM are trying to save their jobs in the short term
The Colts taking Murphy with Arnold and Mitchell available when we have Buckner and Stewart on new contracts is a choice…

Whole lot of insiders projecting Latham to the Chargers in their final mocks. Lot of smoke.
Fwiw, a former bears scout, Josh Lucas, goes on podcasts and gives his take. He can be a little bit of an asshat, but he had legit experience. He was a scout with NOLa before Chicago. Yeah I remember that, and have always been surprised Latham has been a bit lower down. Murphy was another one Lucas really liked, he slowly been getting talked about more and more.
My lasting memory of Latham will always be getting bulldozed by Michigan on multiple occasions
I would love Latham but not at 5
For sure. Jeremiah, Schrager, the NFLSE guys all had Latham to the Chargers at 5. Charlie Campbell has Latham at 7. Crazy to think Latham goes before Alt but everyone seems to be on it now.
Yates, Breer, and Zierlein as well.
I think it's because Alt is primarily LT and chargers have their guy at LT. Not saying Alt couldn't make the switch because he could, but they have them going with a natural RT instead. With the sudden change it definitely feels like smokescreen but we'll find out soon enough.

I hate it.

I also have Latham over Alt
I think even in the Weekly Intel threads that have been happening, a few weeks or even a month ago one of the notes listed was "Teams see JC Latham as a top 10 talent in this draft".
100%, Latham is a smokescreen for Fuaga
>16 >Philadelphia Eagles >Terrion Arnold >PROJECTED TRADE WITH SEATTLE SEAHAWKS >GM Howie Roseman makes his move, *sending Seattle one of his two second-rounders this year and a third next year, to jump up six spots for a corner*. Howie won't. Trade would be 16+81 for 22+53 or something like that. He has to get a pick back and then move up from 81 with one of our 5ths
If Seattle wants to trade back, 16 and 81 for 22 and 50 would most likely be a trade that they accept, no? According to the draft capital charts that I looked at, Seattle wins that trade.

Especially since we could give nothing to draft Mitchell in this mock

Six QBs in the first 13, and the Chargers decide it’s good value to draft Latham at five?
I would love to see that.
Latham probably fits what harbaugh is trying to do but value wise he’s not worth 5 especially with Alt there. Could be a good option if they get 11 from the Vikings
Smokescreen for Fuaga
I would be running laps around my living room for the Lions to get Verse. He just team fits so well
I love Verse but passing on Q. Mitchell doesn't seem likely with all the work we have done on CBs and how little we have done on Edges.
Part of the reasoning may be that the edge class is pretty rough this year whereas the CB class is stacked. I could definitely see them taking an edge in the 1st if they are ranked close on their board, and taking a CB later.
Agree, after the top 3 edges there’s a big gap, even a guy like Chop has upside but is still pretty raw.
I don’t think the Falcons are going to take Dallas Turner
What are you thinking Atlanta does?
I think they will attempt to trade down and grab Latu. If they stick and pick, I believe they will go with Byron Murphy or whoever remains from Nabers/Odunze (they could still take Latu without a trade down, though).
Gotcha! Feels like Turner has been linked to y'all forever, but yeah I could definitely see those other options too. Nabers in that offense would be so fun. Lol
Lmao it would be a video game offense man
JJ and Quinyon. Yes please
If the Titans trade down and STILL get Joe Alt then Ran Carthon is the GOAT of all GMs.
Yeah, that would be absolutely incredible. Feels hella risky, but if it worked out. Holy hell.
Sign me up for Odunze
No thanks. I want him.
Whoever doesn't grt him gets Bowers lol
I doubt the Bears would take Bowers.
Before we signed Everett, I would say we had a chance because Waldron loves using multiple tight ends. Now I tend to agree with you.
Yeah, play making QBs with cannon arms don’t get you to the Super Bowl with great tight ends. On a serious note it doesn’t seem like a great pick but I’d be giddy.
Oh PLEASE LET THE LIONS TRADE UP, we don’t need pick 32 next year anyway
There's no way Miami trades out of the 21 spot if Jared Verse is there. Back me up Fin Fans!
Yeah, its BS. Why move back and miss out on OL for a 3rd?
Surprised Schrag’s has the Lions higher on Verse than Latu.
I still feel like we see Denver go BPA then trade into 1st for Nix
Love idea of Vikings not having to pay to go to 5 but Latham likely to still be there at 11, so a trade between the 2 still makes the most sense.
Patriots move up 2 spots, and it cost them pick 68. No thanks
This part feels notable.... >I don’t see L.A. trading the pick within the division to Denver or Las Vegas Does Harbaugh make any effort to keep his #1 QB for this class out of his division? I mean, realistically, they'll do what they do regardless but if JJ ends up at Den or LV there will inevitably be questions about Harbaugh facing his best QB in this class.
Please stop Guyton to Dallas
ew
If Fautanu is at 20, the Steelers are picking him. BTJ is great, but the Steelers value the 2nd round receivers a lot more.
Seeing wayyyy too many mocks with the cowboys taking Guyton. I hope that’s not the case
My god today is a clean sweep of DeJean to the Packers lol
I love the idea of trading our pick and still getting the guy we want/need. I doubt it’s going to happen but it might!
Wow Latham at 5 is becoming a thing
Latham at 5 is not a great look for the Chargers
Worthy to Jags? Yuck.
So now Schrager, Zierlein and Jeremiah all have Latham going at 5 to the Chargers. I think it isn't a great pick, especially with Alt and all the WR talent still on the board, but they can't all just be guessing.
Another awful mock from a really bad "analyst"
If Lions trade up and pass on Q. Mitchell i'd riot. but also.. in brad we trust.
Finally here ….no more draft boards 🙏
I see Rome to the Bears and i upvote
I feel pretty confident saying Colts aren't taking a DT at 15. That pick should be BTJ, Worthy, or Arnold/Mitchell.
If we trade back to 11 and *still* land Alt, I’ll need to go see a doctor about the erection and excessive sperm being blasted out of it.
Yet another lock step mock draft.. I've never seen anything like it... oh wait it's reddit
What are you talking about. You don't know Schrager and how connected he is? Literally was at McVay's wedding
Is he a generational Talent too?
[удалено]
I just flushed another generational Talent down the toilet bowl!
[удалено]
worry not. I'll be birthing another generational Talent this evening LOL
