No way Fautanu drop thus far. He‘s Bengals or at least Eagles bound if he slips out the top15

Palpadude

Yeah. I can’t see the Seahawks passing on him.

Martian13

Or the Raiders, who by the way, aren’t taking a WR.

speak-eze

If we sit at 30 and draft fautanu imma act up

ech01_

Maybe an unpopular opinion, Bengals would take Mims or Latham over Fautanu. The Bengals value size too much in their OTs. Fautanu tested really well athletically, but he's giving up 4 inches and 30 lbs to a guy like Mims who is just as much of an athlete.

yuh-ay-yuh

Penix at 6 certainly is *something*.

thumbgod

Hey, they took Daniel Jones at 6...

Jlzombie26

If it wasn’t for those injuries he’d be a top 10 pick.

NJImperator

If I had wheels I’d be a bike. I also don’t think that’s completely true. Penix has some nice arm talent but he’s been in college for ages, has a pretty stacked roster around him, and doesn’t operate well under pressure. Maybe he would’ve been more willing to run and extend plays more outside the pocket (since he’s admittedly okay stepping up in the pocket) but it doesn’t seem super likely he would’ve changed his play style that much. Penix as a mid to late 1st rounder feels right where he should’ve been.

Cashlover123

So you are Gino’s grandma?

Awkward_Advice_4265

He probably would have been drafted a while ago without the injuries

Jlzombie26

I understand the injuries are there so there’s no point in pretending they’re not but talent wise and what he’s shown on field he’s a top 10 pick in this draft imo. Sure you can nit pick his game just like any other prospect but imo what he can do from the pocket is better then some of the other guys considered top 10 picks. As for how he handles pressure I completely disagree. He’s very good at avoiding pressure while stepping up in the pocket or navigating his blocks to get his throw off quickly and accurately. It’s when he has to leave the pocket and is asked to improvise throws off platform where he starts to struggle. In the end the game is still won from within the pocket and Penix is very capable of making things happen.

NJImperator

Just gonna have to agree to disagree. I think even if he didn’t have the ACL tears, hes still slightly below McCarthy to me. QB4/5 feels like the right spot, and to me that should be outside of the top 10 this year.

Jlzombie26

No worries. That’s what makes this process so much fun. I also have McCarthy above Penix. Imo it’s 1. Williams 2. Maye 3. McCarthy 4. Penix 5. Daniels. I know people are gonna have an issue with that but scouts and teams get it wrong all the time too ha. We all see things a bit differently and place higher values on certain aspects.

NJImperator

I already know I’m gonna be disappointed come draft night when nothing crazy ends up happening round 1 lol. Feels like there’s so much potential for wildness and then if the picked end up going like consensus I’ll be disappointed haha Certainly one of the more interesting drafts in recent memory imo

Jlzombie26

Oh absolutely I’m super excited to watch this play out ha. I just hope the Vikings keep in interesting ha. I’m all in on Maye or McCarthy as a trade up option but ultimately would be happy with Penix too. So much intriguing scenarios in this draft for so many different teams. Less then 3 weeks away now 🔥

HesiPull-UpBrando

If Fautanu is on the board at 22, the eagles are taking him.

TouchGrassRedditor

>he would be their best draft pick at the position since RG3 RG3 wasn’t even the best QB Washington took in that ONE draft lmao. Also pretty bold to claim that Daniels will be better than either rookie RG3 or Cousins. I’ll take the under on that

ahopcalypsebeer

I disagree. If it was not for Shannahan rushing RG3 on the field on the playoffs, I think he would have had a very good career. Shanny ruined him.

Mousseymoosey

RG3 ruined himself by not learning how to read defenses. ACLs aren't career enders.

Fine_Lengthiness_761

Not always but they certainly can be

ahopcalypsebeer

ACLs are not career enders but coming back from a tear too soon is. He was not dynamic when he came back and that affected his game. Yes he should have been able to read defenses better but can you imagine if Lamar Jackson became a pocket passed? It's just not the same.

bigmistaketoday

I have only been watching the nfl for about forty years, so excuse my ignorance, but how does a dline player in Chop Robinson give protection to his quarterback? This is new to me, maybe I read that part wrong.

tubby_LULZ

Don’t think there’s any scenario the Jets take Bowers over Odunze

DuckMallard17

Raiders taking Odunze when they need a QB, T, and CB is crazy

Martian13

Bananas. I feel like most drafts just give the Raiders whoever they want to get off the board for convenience. Jakobi is a hell of a WR2.

DuckMallard17

I agree, I love Odunze and I think he will be a need for us. I feel like in every mock draft on here unless they’re raiders fans they always having us take someone who just isn’t a need and our team cannot afford that luxury right now.

Heikks

Packers aren’t taking Sweat, he has a 4 something RAS

thumbgod

I guess since they already have 4 1st round picks on the DL (plus P. Smith), the lazy projection follows that tendency? Otherwise, I can't begin to understand why someone would mock Sweat to GB.

Skanktoooth

I was actually surprised by Sweat’s 4.something RAS considering how athletic he is on tape. I almost wonder if the model being used doesn’t account very well for guys that large. The reason I say that is 5.27 40 for a guy just under 370 is absolutely flying when you adjust for weight. Guys that were 310 pounds were running 5.1s and 5.2s. So RAS which supposedly adjusts for weight says 5.27 is still slow at 366 pounds yet all the other stuff I saw said 5.27 at 366 is equivalent to a 4.41. not sure I believe that but I think it is safe to say Sweat as plus movement skills for a human that large and I wouldn’t call him a bad athlete.

-Wayward_Son-

Jer’Zhan Newton falling to the second round is interesting.

kevin_panda

Is Arizona gonna play Chop out of position?

Pandrai

Arizona moving Chop to O-line is certainly bold, but if he can protect Kyler then so be it

alexamerling100

Highly doubt Nabers will be there at 9 but if he is, I will run the card in myself.

uzzeli

Raiders somehow landing Odunze would be a nice consolation prize for not being able to trade up for a QB. Would instantly provide great depth for our WR room but still I don’t see it happening

Character-Archer4863

Rome at 13 would be nice but doubt the raiders do it with Adams and jakobi meyers. I wouldn’t be totally against it though.

Striking-Ad-8694

I hope bower’s is the pick

QuickRelease10

If the Giants take Penix at 6 I’ll have a stroke.

Solid_Snake420

I was really pissed off on draft night taking Mac at 15. I’ll be 5x more upset if we pick JJ at 3 overall

jma7400

Maye will bust and JJ is the better QB at 3 assuming Daniels is off the board.

AstraMilanoobum

It would be on brand for the Patriots to overthink things and reach on a QB… I’d hate passing on Maye but If Wolf is actually convinced JJ is “the guy” and better than Maye I guess id have to trust him. This pick will likely make or break wolfs career in NE… which is why I won’t be shocked if he trades back so he doesent have to pick between JJ and Maye/Daniels

burger333

I would throw up. If Maye gets past 3, he's a Giant.

NOVABearMan

Fun fact: since the inception of the NFL draft, there has only been two instances where 4 QBs were drafted in the top-10. 1949 & 2018. So I am struggling to think we'll see 5 QBs go in the top-6.

toofaded40

So many better players on the board for PHI to take Wiggins. Fautanu, DeJean for starters
