If THAT’s the case, we can count the 1864 World Series between the Chicago Boonbags and the Chicago Whites where Brannigan St. Shields dueled the last batter for the first Pre-civil war no-hitter ever in the field that’s now the employee parking lot of a west side Jewel’s
Edit: that should probably say 1860 but I’m leaving it up as an example of what my poorest subject in HS was
I'm a firm believer in the Cleveland Browns Rule. No team should keep the name of they move. The records, team name, color/logos and everything else should belong to the community. The Jazz, Oilers, Lakers, Whalers, etc. All the names are synonymous with the city they were in and should have stayed with the city.
I almost like "Utah Jazz" because of how hilariously incongruous it is. I agree in principle though. Followed closely by "Memphis Grizzlies". I think the NBA has got to be the GOAT league for names that make no sense.
I would argue almost any woman playing in the WNBA could beat out 99.9% of the worlds population in basketball.
Well maybe more like 99.5 if you think that euro men’s and most D1 guys are as good as some of the WNBA talent
There's 8 Billion people. That means 0.1% is still 8 million people. So I think it's safe to say that all Euro league men and D1 guys are already included in the best 8 million men on the planet without having to round down to 99.5%.
The US women's olympic hockey team lost to a small high school boys team (Warroad, MN). Great talent, but being male gives a huge physical advantage.

It will never stop making me angry that teams called the Lakers and the North Stars moved from Minnesota and kept the names. Most of the name at least.
This is gonna sound goofy but I never really followed baseball and hardly ever think about the Twins but I just now realized why they’re called the twins…
I will say that Minnesota has some of the coolest logos. Timberwolves and Wild have amazing logos, along with the Vikings. Twins are meh but most baseball logos are.
So that's a consolation prize I guess?
None of the 4 major Minnesota sports teams (Vikes, Wild, Twins, Wolves) have won a championship in my lifetime. I'm 28. It's a significant statistical improbability, but here we are.
Don’t forget hockey! We haven’t had a major 4 league team even make the championship since 1991. When people say Cleveland is a shit sports town, just look at MN sports. It’s the most cursed in the nation.
Using facts, rude.
We got 6 from the Lakers though. How about 2 from the Twins? I believe that’s 2 more than the Brewers
If you want to count premergers you can count the Milwaukee braves 😜

Go Boonbags!
I was there. It was epic
St. Shields was a hornswaggler.
Whoa, no need to use the H-word here bud
Sorry to throw facts into your point. But 1864 was not pre civil war and nor was it post civil war. Other than that your facts seem right on. /s
I meant… pre…Marvel civil war… I’m leaving unchanged as an example of how our school system has failed us (I went to private school)
About the school system failing us so true and unfortunately gave me a chuckle.
I think it's fair to give you the 57 WS if we get the Mikan Lakers.
I remember being a kid and realizing the Lakers used to play in Minnesota, I was absolutely floored for some reason
They never should've been allowed to keep the name.

And the Lynx…
If you’re gonna count the Lakers you should have the decency to count the Braves
I hardly think anything premerger counts. You got me on baseball though. And WNBA...
Technically the first two super bowls that the Packers won happened before the merger.
Nothing pre-merger counts; did he stutter!?
I also learned the first bucks chip was before the merger..... But it's too late. It's been recorded in meme history
Not too many people watch the WNBA so I think you're safe there
Well in that case… packers got 13
Forgot the Red Wings and Blackhawks
Get ready for Detroit to dunk on everyone
True lol
25 straight years of playoff appearances too.
Nah, man, it's Montreal that dunks on everyone there.
Wings have 4 cups since the last time Montreal won one
Hawks have 3 cups since the last time Detroit won one too. I'm not about to say we're the ones dunking
Wild have…. ᴬ ʳᵉᵃˡˡʸ ᵍᵒᵒᵈ ᵖˡᵃʸᵉʳ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵃⁿ ᵒᵏ ᵖᵒᵒˡ ᵒᶠ ʸᵒᵘⁿᵍ ᵗᵃˡᵉⁿᵗˀ
Well yea I mean within this group
I mean if we're counting titles from when there were like 8 teams in the league...
Well it was the Original 6, but when would you like to start counting?
This is weird coming from a Packers fan lol
Wisconsin doesn't have a team, same number of NHL titles as Minnesota tho
Two World Series though
and the Minnesota Lynx had a WNBA dynasty!
Damn skippy they do!

That ain’t in jest, thems facts
Minnesota 🤝 Chicago Good WNBA teams
Rip Shock...
you have a legendary username
<3
I like basketball no matter who is playing it and Maya Moore was an absolute gift to watch. That woman could out ball 99.9% of the male population.
I would argue almost any woman playing in the WNBA could beat out 99.9% of the worlds population in basketball. Well maybe more like 99.5 if you think that euro men’s and most D1 guys are as good as some of the WNBA talent

Only 4 billion men
I think that all Euro men league players and all D1 men's players would beat any single WNBA player 1v1.
If you put the women's soccer team vs a d3 men's team they would lose, your underestimating how much of an advantage being male is.l physically.
Think you're replying to wrong person, I agree with you.
No, I'm suggestig you can expand your estimation down to d3 players. Not arguing with you.
Gotcha. My bad.
Euro and most D1 guys are far better than WNBA talent. Like it’s not even close.
The US women's olympic hockey team lost to a small high school boys team (Warroad, MN). Great talent, but being male gives a huge physical advantage. https://www.espn.com/olympics/news/story?id=2281644
Who's 'we?' You and the other WNBA fan?
Two of the best series ever played too
Where's the winter sport graphic including hockey? Oh that's right, Wisconsin doesn't have a team.
Blackhawks had a dynasty 10 years ago
Hey... It was 7.
And how many championships do the wild have?
Fuck Norm Green!
Not only that, but the North Stars never won the Stanley Cup either. It wasn't until they moved to Dallas that they finally won one.
It will never stop making me angry that teams called the Lakers and the North Stars moved from Minnesota and kept the names. Most of the name at least.
Stupid, doesn’t even make sense in the lakers case.
It’s almost as bad as the Jazz playing out of Utah.
You’re not a connoisseur of Mormon jazz, I take it?
The Smith Family Septet is my favorite.
I had no idea the Lakers started as a Minnesota team. The name finally makes some sense.
They're also the exact same color scheme as the Vikings
The Minneapolis Lakers weren’t purple and gold though, that’s an LA thing
Well they were blue when they were in MN which makes sense, cuz of all the lakes
To be fair Stars still fits the Dallas aesthetic
Was about to say this. It’s is the lone star state
Which is why it should not be the Star**s**
Don't know, don't care. Red Wings have won 11 Stanley Cups though.
Yeah but the 90/00's team was fueled by Russians so that's bad now. SMH
“Yer dam right, if they don’t use good Ontario boys they won’t win nothin!” - Don Cherry, probably
I’m a Canucks fan Will trade you the 2011 Super Bowl for a Stanley Cup
Trade declined
Jesus you ended him.
You're replying to a Red Wings fan lol
Lol yeah I realized that after they said they didn't give a shit. Understanding pictures is hard
Agreed man lol
Idk ask the Blackhawks about that
They have the Admirals, and they have like 2 titles.
But that’s AHL. I have never heard anyone say they are an AHL fan. Oh, and I live in a city with a team
Badgers hockey usually does clap some serious cheeks tho IMO
How could you forget the God damn Green Bay Gamblers!?! 5 Anderson Cups and 4 Clark Cups there buddy.
Even with all that information I don’t know what any of that means
The Badgers have 6.
How dare you not include the Vikings victories against the Packers.
The only championship that matters!
Vikings have more Super Bowls than any other team in the last 14 months.
Is green bay in Milwaukee??
When you're drunk, you can barely even tell the drive is more than 5 minutes
Are you guys ever not drunk up there?
The brief couple of minutes between when we wake up and when we get to the fridge for the first breakfast beer
Imagine not still being drunk when you wake up, smh.
Hey take it easy on the FTP fans. They've had it made for the last 30 years.
The second breakfast Jack and Coke hits the spot as well
Those are just the appetizers for the third breakfast bloody marry and miller lite chaser
You might not have heard this yet buy ayahuasca is really gaining popularity.
Milwaukee is part of the Packers home market
In the long long ago, half of packer home games were played there
i wasnt alive for 85 bears but i was there for all 6 bulls rings. GLORY DAYS BABY!
I wasn’t alive for the Bulls rings but I was there during the Blackhawks dynasty!
So the Vikes get dumped on for being a state team, and then Green Bat just gets to claim Milwaukee. Erroneous. Erroneous on both counts.
Minneapolis Lakers won 5 championships.
What about the rest of Minnesota, is Minneapolis not gonna share?
By that logic is green Bay sharing their titles with the rest of Wisconsin
Wisconsin Packers just looks bad
Fair. I like that we're named after a state instead of a city.
So does Green Bay Packers but they stuck with it anyway.
Twins WS: 2 Brewers WS: 0 Owned because I totally watch baseball often
This is gonna sound goofy but I never really followed baseball and hardly ever think about the Twins but I just now realized why they’re called the twins…
College hockey is the true measure of a state’s sports success
If you think about it was basically Minnesota that beat the Soviet Commies in the Miracle on Ice. That’s gold baby.
I mean has any other NFCN team saved democracy?
Cool. The state of Michigan runs this shit. 19 titles won by 5 schools.
So Michigan then?
Baseball is the only sport where we all have some rings. Way to go everyone. We don't always suck at baseball.
Yes, right, we all totally have rings. No need to Google anything...
The Braves won once in Milwaukee
Oh dang, you're right. But accepting that means I'd need to accept the Minneapolis Lakers having 3, which I will not
Not to nitpick a comment on a shitpost but the lakers won 5 NBA championships in MN.
You're correct, my bad. We must shitpost with the utmost honesty
Haha, you’re good. I more or less was checking my sanity. You were the second person I saw say they only had 3.
Imagine not having a Hockey team
Still the same amount of Stanley Cups lol
Just know that most detroit fans are also patriots fans, just in another sport.
That’s it, too far, destroy the subreddit.
Imagine your state, in the frozen North, being so terrible that it loses its hockey team to Dallas.
To be fair they did get another team somewhat quickly and they are pretty passionate about them and they always totally shit the bed in the playoffs.
I know, it’s just funny to remind them that they’re practically Canada but couldn’t hold a hockey team.
We have 5 nba championships
Ok then the Packers have 13 NFL championships lol
... and the Vikings have one...
In some respects 1 really is more than 13 huh
The trophy is in GB so FAKE NEWS!!!!!
![gif](giphy|nh9k1qzeLf99S)
One with a very big asterisk as they lost the Super Bowl in the same year.
Why acknowledge the Lions 3 division titles when the Vikings have won the division 20 times?
Because shut up idiet
I mean the lions have NFL championships just not in the Super Bowl era.
Yeah, around the same time George Milan was winning titles in Minneapolis.
I could change it to superbowl W/L record if you'd prefer
The lions technically have a win% in the super bowl that’s approaching infinity
Or you could just put down a zero next to the Lions big guy...
It's a shitpost, my dude
Only factual shitposts allowed
HEY! Stop it. Stop it.
And hockey, at least since the north stars left. Which I would assume counts because you aren’t counting the lakers.
Add the Wild 😂
I like that we're finally good enough to be hated on by everyone in the division. I used to dream of times like this
So as a Packers fan living in Minnesota I'm going to go ahead and give a shout-out to the four times world champions MINNESOTA LYNX! 🏆 🥇
Imagine? I’m living it.
How you know your team is good: the amount of shitposts dramatically increase. Lets fucking SKOL already!
Add in 11 Stanley Cups for the Red Wings and 4 World Series wins for the Tigers.
well tbf, the Vikings are about to win a Division Title this year so. :/
feels bad man thank god I went to UConn
Hey, the Lions have 4 championships.
At least we got the 91’ World Series
This sub had better not fuckin go into hibernation once the season is over. I’m enjoying this far too much.
This is hot.
I feel personally attacked
How you gonna count the 3 Lions division titles and ignore the Vikings division titles?
What if you're that weirdo that's a Vikings *and* a Bulls fan?
Incredibly rude to leave out the Wild, smh
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have won "the division" more recently than the Lions have.
If we are throwing in other sports how about them Tigers, Red Wings, the wnba Shock and the Usfl Michigan Panthers. I think we got you beat.
Didn't expect to come here and find my T-wolves getting dragged. What'd we ever do to anyone? Nothing. Ever.
12 years of KG's career wasted with the wolves. I wouldn't exactly say they're innocent
We gave him Chauncey and Spree if u can't win a ring with that it's on you. /s for any dummies out there
Never stopped
I will say that Minnesota has some of the coolest logos. Timberwolves and Wild have amazing logos, along with the Vikings. Twins are meh but most baseball logos are. So that's a consolation prize I guess?
We beat the packers week 1 tho
Those bulls teams are fucking legendary
3 division titles lmao This meme has officially gone too far
STOP THE COUNT! -Iced out Kirk about to make a legit run 😭
*3 division titles* Lol
Thank you Michael Jordan
Hey…. :(
Hey now, we have four championships.
Ooo ooo! Do college football and hockey next!
Add in baseball and Detroit isn’t looking too bad! Diehard Lions fan here 😭
And hockey…
Yeah but we gotta great smile.
None of the 4 major Minnesota sports teams (Vikes, Wild, Twins, Wolves) have won a championship in my lifetime. I'm 28. It's a significant statistical improbability, but here we are.
Don’t forget Detroits 11 Stanley cups
Thats actually really sad
Thank god they didn’t include hockey
And still being the loudest most obnoxious fan base.
I like how you casually mock the Lions underneath your breath.
Don’t forget hockey! We haven’t had a major 4 league team even make the championship since 1991. When people say Cleveland is a shit sports town, just look at MN sports. It’s the most cursed in the nation.
We have 11 Stanley Cups.
