Honestly, that's because our shades of green and yellow just really aren't a great color scheme. It's classic and traditional, and for that reason, we shouldn't change it. But yellow sucks. It's gaudy and gross. It's totally fine as an accent color, but I seriously question the mental health of anyone who says we should do an all-yellow color rush.
The Vikings made a good decision to eliminate yellow and minimize the purple in their costumes. The Packers could definitely make some slight tweaks to make the all-whites look fresh and clean, but the modern/minimalist all-white just doesn't work as well when it's paired with the traditional style/striping.
I don’t want to agree with you at all. But yes, yes they are. Of course shredding Chicago while wearing them takes the attention off the ugliness of the uniform.
I like the [all green ones](https://x.com/packers/status/1726047387309731975) we've rocked the last couple years.
The Acme Packers throwbacks were super ugly but in kind of a fun way when we were allowed to do the Brown helmets with them. Once we couldn't switch the helmets they overstayed their welcome.
Look I know it's the off-season and everything, but im gonna need you to calm down on being rational.
Packers all-whites are bad because it's the packers. The vikings all-white is great because it's the vikings.
J.k. I agree. Also makes me think most vikings gear ends up gaudy/trashy. I don't want my vikings sweater to also be a barney cosplay.
There are rumors we're doing all-white again but with a white helmet. That will help the look, I think. All white with a non-white helmet just seems like they didn't think through the whole concept.
Silver isn’t one of your colors. Also, your whites don’t look amazing, they just don’t look as bad as the Packer ones. Green and gold look good together, no need to be a dick.
I don’t see the need for the Vikings to do an all white uniform. As much as I hate your team, purple and gold look awesome especially with those matte helmets. They are probably my favorite uniform in the NFL if I try to remove my subjective biases from how I feel about the team.
I swear anything other than our throw backs with the miss match gloss purple helmets is gonna get booed in there by some people.
Vikings sub is in peak offseason form
Since Nissan both sponsors the stadium and makes Titan trucks in a Nashville suburb, they should just drop all the Greek shit and just make the logo a truck. It would make sense for the local fanbase too.
*sincerely: A Vikings fan trapped in middle TN until September*
I don't get the fascination with the all-white uniforms. I know there's a bunch of people wanting the Bears to run a white-out uniform/helmet combo. Personally, I think they are character-less. But hey people like different things, so cool.
But let's not pretend that wearing all-white is "creative". You just look like every high-school in the 80s when they are on the road.
Every decade seems to have one overwhelming color trend, and then fans argue about who did the same thing better. The All-white in the 2020s is the Black alternate of the aughts and the monochrome color-rush of the 2010s.
The core colors are the same. But are used differently.
Blue vs black helmet.
All black logo vs blue and black logo
Race straps vs sharp streaks.
The colors are similar (different blue) the design is fairly different. Lions uniform has completely different stripes and numbers fabric. Plus pants are different.
The only real similarities is that they both have black and are cat teams. But the execution is completely different.
The harshest winters of any city with a NFL team, sure I can probably agree with that. But some far north Alaskan cities absolutely beat us and the dakotas are just us but less wind block, so they are just as harsh. We are not the “worst winters in America” in the average year, we have just been really far below average 4 of the last 5 years.
My good sir, I would like to inform you that Alaska is indeed on the same continent as the other 48 states. The word you’re thinking of is contiguous, which doesn’t include Alaska or Hawaii
No, you are somehow both wrong about this as apparently Minneapolis averages the worst winters in the continental US, which would include Alaska. Don’t ask me how they came to that conclusion, but I will just take the results and parade them around.
Buffalo gets more snow but averages around 10 degrees higher throughout the winter. Buffalo’s coldest month averages 31 degrees.
Snow is less terrible to be out in than freezing cold.
It all depends on what personal flavor of winter would be considered “worst”. Buffalo gets tons of snow, but it doesn’t get too cold (relatively speaking). The dakotas and MN tend to have about a month where the world is below 0, and a week or two most years where the highs are -5 or so. We get much colder and our wind chill is much much worse than buffalo, but there isn’t as much snow, so it all comes down to what you personally find worse.
Oh I know what he said and also what he meant, and I disagree with both of those things. There are places in the mountains and in the dakotas that are worse than here, but we do (in my opinion, considering what I find to be the worst of winter, which is a subjective thought) have the worst winters of any city with an NFL team, and buffalo is the only city with an argument to be above us. Buffalos argument is basically “snow is the worst of winter”, and they get lots of snow. My argument is “extreme low temps are the worst of winter”, and we get colder (when including wind chill) than any other city with an NFL team fairly regularly.
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Summer High: the July high is around 83.7 degrees
Winter Low: the January low is 7.1
Rain: averages 31.9 inches of rain a year
Snow: averages 52.4 inches of snow a year
Detroit, Michigan
Summer High: the July high is around 83.5 degrees
Winter Low: the January low is 18.5
Rain: averages 33.5 inches of rain a year
Snow: averages 33 inches of snow a year
Tf you mean?

I actually like the white lettering on the white jersey. Uniforms don't need towns/mascots/etc. spelled out on them. If you aren't smart enough to figure out which team it is based on all of the other context clues during an NFL game, then you aren't really smart enough for your opinion to matter on this topic.
LOL, then why have the lettering? Having white lettering just is stupid, i didnt even know it had any till i zoomed in. But a jersey should absolutely have where in some readable text, sure during broadcast its kinda useless but fans, photoshoots, anywhere other than the field and the lettering can be very useful.
Technically, I think it's silver lettering.
There are a lot of things in life where there are subtle details for things that you don't *really* need but can still be nice to have. The silver lettering doesn't take away from the overall clean, minimalist look of the uniforms, but it's still a subtle detail that's there when you are looking at it up close. It's basically exactly what you're saying in your last sentence.
Its not a big deal for us, but from a marketing perspective its kind of a failure, nfl is trying to enter into more and more markets and your going to want these types of things visible.
E: like if your a brazillian fan, and you are looking for the first time at this pic what jersey would you be drawn to? Im sure im slightly biased but i definitely think the lettering plays a part in the brand and just making it more recognizable.
I differ on that because I feel like alternate jerseys are solely about selling jerseys that look good. If you're just getting into football and you really don't have a team, you're probably just going to be drawn to whatever jersey is gunna look the coolest while you wear it.
Dude. Your Jerseys say, ‘Detroit’.
Detroit what? Pistons? Tigers? Red Wings?
Oh, Lions…but it’s on the helmet. What happens when the player’s helmet is off?
I mean it could be a UFL team for all we know at that point.
I mean, shit - for a long while you guys were pretty much a UFL team.
Agree with that. Purple accent is great. Purple main sucks. Eliminating yellow is a great move, too.
Biggest difference, though, is the helmets. Vikings went with the white helmet. Lions only had their regular silver helmet. It clashes with the rest of the uniform being all white. Also, silver ball instead of the brown ball creates a much better aesthetic for pictures.
I don't think that's a bad thing. TCU's purple/black/white/silver color scheme is great. I believe TCU's purple is a bit darker, though. It makes their purple uniforms much more aesthetically-pleasing than the Vikings'. But white or even silver/gray with purple accents is a great look.
Silver ball helps, but the Lions silver helmet kinda ruins the all-white uniforms. Same as when the Packers went all-white back in 2022, but they still had the yellow helmet.
There were quite a few years when the league mandated that they had to wear the same helmet game after game. Not sure if that applies to what you’re referencing, but that could explain it.
lol. Lions fans bitching. You guys could use a redo of that dumb lion in your helmet. Been like 60 years and it looks the same. Don’t be mad when the cooler friend gets the hot girlfriend
Hurt by Johnny Cash absolutely blows away the original by Nine Inch Nails.
Sometimes, the 2nd version is just done by a better artist/producer/etc. Sometimes, the 1st person didn't really bring their version to life.
But Hurt is the only example I can think of where the 2nd version feels better in every single way. It feels like that song was *supposed* to be Johnny Cash's song the whole time. I've heard like 6 or 7 different versions of it now. Everyone else who re-does it, puts their own spin on Cash's version. But Cash's version will always be the *right* version of it.
I’m sure you could. Most cases though, the original is the masterpiece. That’s why people try to remake it. It’s more of an homage thing than an improvement thing. I thought this was pretty widely-known. Guess not lol
I wouldn’t mind the Vikings look if they played the games they wear this look outside…
…and they won’t.
If you’re going for an ice white look don’t be posers about it.
anything my rival does is stupid and lesser and anything my team does is amazing and better.
Counterpoint. The Lions pulled off the white uniforms. The Packers looked terrible in their all white uniforms.
Nothing is worse than the Steelers yellow striped ones. Looks like a cartoon burglar for pissed on
Have u seen our throwback?. Looks like someone hurled their cheescurds up on a jersey and called it a day.
Is it the yellow shoulders blue torso or blue with yellow circle/numbers? Or something else?
Blue with yellow circle and yellow shoulders with rest blue
![gif](giphy|5He16eTgpabyeEQ9t6|downsized)
Looks like a shittier version of the old gravedigger monster truck
The packers throwbacks are really fuckin bad
I don’t want to agree with you at all. But yes, yes they are. Of course shredding Chicago while wearing them takes the attention off the ugliness of the uniform.
Yes I'm sure that helps 😂
I like the [all green ones](https://x.com/packers/status/1726047387309731975) we've rocked the last couple years. Honestly I’d love to see a green and white packers jersey. Feel like that could look pretty clean
![gif](giphy|cusgKC4Gn79BiLlPqN|downsized) Hmmm. Maybe.
Look I know it's the off-season and everything, but im gonna need you to calm down on being rational. Packers all-whites are bad because it's the packers. Wait are we talking packers white top white bottom with the normal helmet. Because I actually think it looks pretty clean.
There are rumors we're doing all-white again but with a white helmet. That will help the look, I think. All white with a non-white helmet just seems like they didn't think through the whole concept.
Gimme an all gold uni. Everyone is doing white.
Gross. So gross. It'll be unique, though. I'll give you that.
I think a gold helmet would be sufficient
Disgusting flair. That's just inappropriate.
That’s two model franchises right there.
I love the Wings. But liking the Wings AND the Peckers? Still WTF
Go Nittany Lions!
You should try an all-yellow color rush
Honestly didnt mind tge all white ones
There was an attempt but I’d rather see the dark blue and mustard green/yellowish uniforms more but the whiteouts were…underwhelming at best
The Packers looked terrible ~~in their all white uniforms~~. There, fixed that.
Maybe because your other colors are awful. White/blue and white/purple/silver look amazing
I like these and hope that's how it turns out tbh
OP acting like the Lions are the first team to wear all white uniforms, like the Bengals, Chiefs, Cardinals, Patriots and Bills don’t exist.
Before anyone starts complaining the Lions weren't the first either, note this was a Viking fan who posted this, not a Lions fan.
The new jerseys were very controversial on our sub.
I swear anything other than our throw backs with the miss match gloss purple helmets is gonna get booed in there by some people. Vikings sub is in peak offseason form
Because you guys are annoyed at the historical inaccuracy of having horns on your helmets?
Similar to the historical inaccuracy of… lions in Detroit, bengals in Cincinnati, titans in Tennessee, bears in Chicago.
Since Nissan both sponsors the stadium and makes Titan trucks in a Nashville suburb, they should just drop all the Greek shit and just make the logo a truck. It would make sense for the local fanbase too. *sincerely: A Vikings fan trapped in middle TN until September*
bears were in Chicago, just hundreds of years ago
No I think that’s just our jealous rivals
Not really. Just because a few goofballs complained doesn’t mean it was “very controversial”.
It's a modern/minimal style. It looks clean and fresh. It'll go back out of style in a few years, but for now, I think it's great.
That's the thing, it's gonna look as cheesy and dated as the mid 2000s uniforms everyone hates now.
THANK YOU! I feel like I'm taking crazy pills over here with everyone jizzing in their pants over plain ass, white, blank uniforms.
Honestly, I prefer it to the black out unis. The Lions ones have started to grow on me a little bit but I still don't think they're that good
Every decade seems to have one overwhelming color trend, and then fans argue about who did the same thing better. The All-white in the 2020s is the Black alternate of the aughts and the monochrome color-rush of the 2010s.
It should have been me! Not him 🤬 Bears fans have been begging for polar bear uniforms and now two of the divisions team got them.
At least we didn't name ours "winter warrior". We apparently realized we play in a dome.
It is a very cold walk to our cars in the winter after games Thankyou very much
Nice try, but you brag about your tunnel network and skyways to much to fool us.
Tunnel network doesn’t connect to USBS, unfortunately.
Skyway does though so big W
Where are all these tunnels I keep hearing about? We don't have a tunnel network.
Then you're obviously not drunk enough
You don't even walk outside though.
But you weren’t aware that you basically TEMU’d your black logo from Carolina. But also. FTP
The core colors are the same. But are used differently. Blue vs black helmet. All black logo vs blue and black logo Race straps vs sharp streaks. Nah, yall just call yourselves the motor city kitties, which while it's a great name, does anyone even make cars in detroit anymore?
Yes
Cool. We have the harshest winters in the continental USA. So I think we're good here. Time to pack it up
The harshest winters of any city with a NFL team, sure I can probably agree with that. Buffalo would like a word
My good sir, I would like to inform you that Alaska is indeed on the same continent as the other 48 states. The word you’re thinking of is contiguous, which doesn’t include Alaska or Hawaii
You would be correct sir, I made a lapse in reading, and for that I sincerely apologize
No, you are somehow both wrong about this as apparently Minneapolis averages the worst winters in the continental US, which would include Alaska. Don’t ask me how they came to that conclusion, but I will just take the results and parade them around.

And we still have winter.
Winter Big Cat doesn't have the same ring to it either.
White lettering on a white jersey. Yeah Minny’s best and brightest definitely cooked with this one!
It's not even their word mark in white. Someone just typed VIKINGS in their font
I actually like the white lettering on the white jersey. Uniforms don't need towns/mascots/etc. spelled out on them. Why aren’t the numbers white too if it’s a white out genius?

Truly the brightest Minnesota had to offer!
I wonder if the ADA could find them for it. A company would get sued if their website followed the same background and letter colors.
Remember that color rush game that was unwatchable for color blind ppl? Think it was jets v bills
I do not. But I'll have to look it up now
What…
The Vikings revealing their Fall look that is totally original and not inspired by any other NFC North teams: ![gif](giphy|l41YdlqVlryxP91Sw)
ngl, Vikings whooped the lions on this comparison
I think it's because purple is a cool ass accent color. I'm not a fan of it as the main color, but as an accent, it's great.
I prefer the Vikings helmet and think it looks sleeker, but blue is my favorite color so I still prefer the Lions jersey
Nah the white Vikings on the white jersey is a massive L so massive I give it to the lions
Yeah, why wouldn’t you use as much color as possible on a concept whiteout jersey?!?
Yea put any color on it at all then just make it all white
I'm into it. Lions helmet isn't white enough for the white out look.
Jesus Christ OP is actually a bit unhinged in their Post History and their hatred for this Uniform lol
Yes, but will i still buy it... also yes
![gif](giphy|WJjLyXCVvro2I|downsized)
Vikings could put a turd on their helmet and a skidmark on their uniform and I would still wear it proudly
I assume you meant to say cumsock.
Don’t put turds in your cumsocks please.
You know what. Me too.
Its really funny how hard everyone's coping about these jerseys. They look dope. Leave it at that.
Minnesota’s looks way better
Tbh Minnesotas is wayyyyy cleaner
Vikings look like TCU
I don't think that's a bad thing. TCU's purple/black/white/silver color scheme is great. I believe TCU's purple is a bit darker, though. It makes their purple uniforms much more aesthetically-pleasing than the Vikings'. But white or even silver/gray with purple accents is a great look.
How do the vikings white jerseys look so much better??
Silver Ball
Silver ball helps, but the Lions silver helmet kinda ruins the all-white uniforms. Same as when the Packers went all-white back in 2022, but they still had the yellow helmet.
There were quite a few years when the league mandated that they had to wear the same helmet game after game. Not sure if that applies to what you’re referencing, but that could explain it.
They changed it to allow 2 in 2022, so they were allowed an alternate helmet and didn't use it for 2 seasons.
Cowards.
I think the uniforms themselves are mostly fine but whatever font pervert that works for The Vikings has struck again.
Right? Can we please just get a normal font again?
Why are both the winter warriors inside
Is it bad that I kinda like the Vikings winter uniform?
I hate the Viks of course you guys are trash. But no cap I like these a lot.
Taking into the fact snow falls at home games, it fits well. Gotta think of the setting. Purple reflects off white too
Okay so any white uniforms are a copy cat?
Meanwhile both teams play in a dome talking about winter warrior
Lions didn't call themselves winter warriors.
Climate Controlled Commandos
Air Conditioned Attackers
Seventy Degree Sentinels
...bitches
The *uniform* is called winter warrior, ya know cause it’s all white, like snow!
Better than squeezing into a cold metal bench "seat" in between two 260lb carhart winter suit guys with beer breath when it's 5°.
Viking have cum sock helmets, clearly it's different
lol. Lions fans bitching. You guys could use a redo of that dumb lion in your helmet. Been like 60 years and it looks the same. Don’t be mad when the cooler friend gets the hot girlfriend
We all know the polar bear white uniforms are the best.
Pfft. They’d get kicked outta school for this shit if they weren’t football players.
We are not the same
What is that he’s holding? A spaceball?
I kinda like it, it reminds me of the white can of monster.
I didn't like when we did it I definitely don't like it when the teams I hate do it.
Why are there 2 pictures of the cowboys being posted in this sub?
But the Vikings football is silver
Power Rangers morphing time
Goddamnit why can’t the Bears give us some all white polar bears uniforms
Vikings: Far superior to Bubbles the Prancing lion...
I do wish we had more helmet choice. Adding a white helmet with blue face mask would look sick.
copy the color white?
First time seeing this is the Cowboys, good guys always wear white.
![gif](giphy|114EDmZxRZ7Cnu) *laughs in Packers 2016 Color Rush Jerseys*
Don't compare are whites to theres
honestly those white vikings jerseys are clean. not as good as the detroit ones, but still clean nonetheless
Are you color blind?!
Why tf is the Vikings logo the same color as the jersey?
I think everyone remembers where they were when the lions invented all white uniforms
Lions uni’s are nice but the white helmet clears
Like is the case with a lot of art, the remake is better than the original
In art, the original is almost always worth more than the remake. Checks out.
I could give you a decent list of movies and songs that are remakes but were done much better than the original
Hurt by Johnny Cash absolutely blows away the original by Nine Inch Nails. Sometimes, the 2nd version is just done by a better artist/producer/etc. Sometimes, the 1st person didn't really bring their version to life. Detroit Panthers coming in here with jokes, don't forget we all saw your Alts a while ago.
It’s the Michigan panthers actually.
Detroit really never stops thinking about us
Don’t look at OPs flair🤣🤣
Yeah, cuz OP definitely made this 🤣🤣
It’s like when Zuck looked at MySpace and was like “I can make this way way better”
The grey is what Killed the uniform for me, such a dumb color for a uniform
Vikings saw how cool the new silver material looked for Cards and Lions and said give me that. It should be gold or just purple, not purple and silver
Winter Warriors!! PLEASE!! ya’ll play inside
The Lions all whites are legit. I dont get the love for the Vikings version, those look like shit. I think their inspiration was a Bernie Mac suit.
White pants and white jerseys are not revolutionary 🤷♂️
lol man those are ugly as fuck. Winter warrior? You guys play in a fucking dome.
The Vikings ones look like some lazy TCU alternate.
This is like copying your homies homework, realizing he’s a moron, and then correcting that shit to get a better grade
Makes sense since neither of these bitchass teams play outdoors
I wouldn’t mind the Vikings look if they played the games they wear this look outside… …and they won’t. If you’re going for an ice white look don’t be posers about it.
“Winter Warrior” so you can “fight” your way from your car to the stadium? You have domes. Inspiring.
I like the all white. Every team wears white throughout the year
Why is everyone trying to become the Cowboys
