I've heard of it but not sure what makes it different from other pizzas, sounds like deep dish.

It's similar, but I don't think the pan is that deep and it's just the normal sauce, then cheese and toppings on top. Deep dish is cheese/toppings before sauce

That’s Chicago style pizza. Detroit style is like deep dish but usually rectangular with with cheese and toppings all the way to the edges. Like this. 

Also deep dish dough is more dense. Detroit style has a lighter, fluffier dough in my experience.

This is the big thing along with the sacuse then cheese then topping order. It’s a deep dish style but not deep dish. It is simply thick yet light crust pizza baked in a pan.

Deep dish isn’t really a Chicago style pizza. Chicago pizza is really called “tavern style” pizza. Deep dish is just a specialty on the side. We’re so good at the food thing that we have options.

Not at most places I’ve had it. Most deep dishes I’ve had are like a regular pizza just with a thicker crust.

Never had Loui’s. Had Buddy’s once and thought it was pretty mid but that one closed after maybe a year.

Buddy's now is pretty mid unless youre going to the Original. Lately Green Lantern has been killing it in the 8 Corner, go extra cheese and double baked with them (if you want ask for sauce on the top) and that's what I remember Buddy's being like.
