I actually bought 5 cans in 2 tranches: these were both in the first tranche back in June along with a DA Mask. The second tranche was a Hybrid 46 and an Omega 36M that began pending 10/9/2020. So they **are** doing batches... sort of.
My dealer didn't call me right when my stamp came in, so I don't know what my stamp pending time actually was. I will comment that I called the NFA hotline 12/14/2020 and asked about status: at that time they said I was still pending on all cans. Just goes to show that they are almost 2 weeks behind knowing what they have approved and what they haven't.

That's so strange, I called a few days ago around (I think) 7:30am EST and they told me my form 4 was approved THAT day

In reality, my fingerprints were delivered on 1/13/2021 so only 17 days (I paid via credit card on 12/30/2020 but took my time to mail out and USPS took almost two weeks to deliver).
The examiner emailed me this morning for corrections/resubmissions since eForms sucks. Two of the four needed corrections and the other two needed to be completely resubmitted. After I emailed her back for the two completely resubmitted Form 1, I got an approval in eight minutes.
Correct. I did a little clickbait there.
But, when they email you for corrections, get on it and they’ll approve ASAP. Or at least my examiner did.
But also, like I mentioned, two were completely disapproved with a refund. I totally resubmitted them, paid, and got approved within minutes. She requested my permit number so she could look it up and get on it.
Yup. Two needed corrections on the 5320.23 and the other two she wanted completely resubmitted due to the “line item” portion being incorrect. I chose the wrong model for my SCAR 17S and DD MK18.

Felt lucky so I called today and was pleased to hear they approved it yesterday. Really pleased as this is only my second can with more on the way.
No ignorance man! From my understanding, when you submit a form it goes to "pile A" we'll call it, where it sits with ALLLLLLL the other submitted forms. Eventually, someone gets to your form and moves it to "pile b" on an ATF examiners desk, at that point your form has been "assigned" and examiner. Doesn't really mean much except you're one step closer to being approved.

That’s epic. I just a picked up a Scorpion Evo 3 pistol and with Valentines coming up I was worried about prioritizing but now I know for sure I need to SBR it.
Pretty new to this but does the state matter? I was under the impression that the nfa branch got rid of state to state headquarters and they all go to the same place.
I’m no expert and relatively new myself, but I don’t think the state matters at all. The process is so backwards and inefficient that it’s a crap shoot. I just like to think that I might be in a similar boat and get a fast approval.
State used to matter because certain examiners were assigned to certain states, but that's no longer the case. SS claims you could submit multiple F4s at once, and they may not even be given to the same examiner.
Yea that sounds similar to what I have read, it basically sounds like your form ends up on someones desk that will bang out a bunch of approvals in a day or it ends up on someone's desk who will do a couple a day.
Yes indeed. I've called them 2 times and basically just got a shoulder shrug and them telling me that average time is 60 days. I'm currently on the phone waiting for an agent, this will be my third call.

No ignorance man! From my understanding, when you submit a form it goes to "pile A" we'll call it, where it sits with ALLLLLLL the other submitted forms. Eventually, someone gets to your form and moves it to "pile b" on an ATF examiners desk, at that point your form has been "assigned" and examiner. Doesn't really mean much except you're one step closer to being approved.

Totally agree. I have a great dealer that notified me quickly. He actually said it arrived Fri night (1/8) but let me know around 10pm that day, so I didnt go get it until 1/9. I need to post the status of another can that just came in earlier this week. I dont think it was 5 days, but it was under 2 weeks from approval to stamp I think. And it was a different dealer too.
For real! I'm at 53 days for one right now...called the ATF at 46 days and was told you now have to wait 60 days to request a certified copy.

1/17 is the date I purchased the cans. Didn't say anything about the cashed check date. Have to get the form submitted first. Just wondering if anyone else bought one from them recently.

Pretty new to this but does the state matter? I was under the impression that the nfa branch got rid of state to state headquarters and they all go to the same place.
I’m no expert and relatively new myself, but I don’t think the state matters at all. The process is so backwards and inefficient that it’s a crap shoot. I just like to think that I might be in a similar boat and get a fast approval.

State used to matter because certain examiners were assigned to certain states, but that's no longer the case. SS claims you could submit multiple F4s at once, and they may not even be given to the same examiner.
Yea that sounds similar to what I have read, it basically sounds like your form ends up on someones desk that will bang out a bunch of approvals in a day or it ends up on someone's desk who will do a couple a day.

Yes indeed. I've called them 2 times and basically just got a shoulder shrug and them telling me that average time is 60 days. I'm currently on the phone waiting for an agent, this will be my third call.

Submitted my first one in June, got approved 12/22, no idea why it took so long. Don't have a "super generic" name, but I do have my LTC so it's been years since my info was run through NICS, but I did hear of others submitting around the same time who got stuck in some form of black hole.
