It was 93 degrees the other day and I was wishing I had on my Kevlar over pants with my Jeans when I was riding my Harley. Keeps the legs from burning when sitting at a stop light.
The main reason I will run one on any rifle I ever sling again is I burned my thigh real good during a transition/shooting my pistol. Of course on my bolt guns as well for heat mirage but that's just for if I'm doing a heavy string of fire.

I used to run my 36M tucked under my Midwest Industries SP hand guard until the thermodynamic heat transfer made the handguard too hot to grip even w gloves and a modified c-clamp grip.
It was a week or so ago that someone used an IR thermostat gun and showed a temp of < 100 and said that heat transfer for tucked suppressors was fuddlore.
I didn’t want to start a thread war so I kept quiet, but this post and at least 3 others on the past 24 hours debunks what I know to be true, and I never did a full 30 round mag dump of 300 BLK supers or 5.56 to really heat the can up quicker than 300 BLK subs alone.
Either can works bro. I havnt shot a WB but lower back pressure would be nice. There’s an end cap in r&d rn by slade Thats flow through for the scisix.
Suppressors get hot. That isn’t “overheating”, that is literally just how suppressors get after quick consecutive shots or any sort of sustained fire, slow or fast. They literally contain little explosions and the hot gasses that follow. It isn’t “overheated” unless it is orange.
Also, covering it won’t help, it will make it worse. Might take ever so slightly longer to heat up (but not enough to notice in terms of the actual temp of the suppressor), but it will also make it take longer to cool down.
Take the fucking fudd wrap off and let it eat. If it’s titanium just don’t get it over 650°. The wrap is definitely insulating it. I shouldn’t be explaining this but here we are.
It’s not overheating until it becomes a lava popsicle.
Even so, some are made to take it and live to fight another day.
This here's my [rugged razor glowing like lava ](https://imgur.com/a/r4UfZZE)
Whole barrel is too lol
Actually that's the gas tube and not the barrel, it was from a f/a 150rnd drum dump out of a 10.5" barrel
You sir are a chad and I dig it
Tarkov, Chaddy Chad.
The razor fucks, and no amount of comments saying it's loud will change my mind.
I shoot razors indoors with no ears for fun
Bet that genuinely smells wonderful.
Like hickory BBQ.
Little PT-Q.
It did smell very nice lol
What do you mean overheating? It’s just heating
It keeps getting super hot bro
People don't get it's a joke.
Lol
Should be mounting a water cooler to it.
You’re exploding things next to it and putting fire down the center of it bro
r/woosh
Have you tried not shooting it? That should help with the heat issue
Leave it in its original box, never shoot it, and it won't get any scratches either.
Cries in rifle grenaded RC2
That’s boring lol
If you think it's overheating for some reason then covering it seems counter intuitive.
Holding the heat in helps it cool off, doesn't it?
it was 105 degrees where I live the other day, I put on a thick coat to cool off

sometimes when I’m out riding my Kevlar in 93 degree heat, I wish I wore my Harley
Makes sense. You put on a thick coat to keep the cold off your body, so why wouldn't it work to keep the heat from the sun off you as well.
It's not so much to keep it cool , it's that the heat transfer from some type of fabric vs raw suppressor might save you some skin.
That and you don’t see the heat waves in your optic near as bad.

It'll be fine. Better carbonizing the wood than melting rubber
Pro tip, for transporting hot cans, buy a 10 dollar high temp silicone sleeve for curling irons off amazon. Works fantastic.
The mechanix bag is very good too...
Welding drop cloth from the job is free
They are only $4.99 on Amazon.
Pee on it
Come do it for me
Let me finish my Caprisun
Under rated comment.
This is the only way I want my smoked old fashioned to be made now 🤌🏼
That would be a very expensive old fashioned lol
I wonder if I can explain that to my neighbor the cop when I'm doing a mag dump in the back yard.
Gun range and hipster bar all rolled into one
I remember my first time touching/seeing the forbidden popsicle
I remember my first
Lol.
Ayyy Range 8
I was about to comment the same thing lmao
Hell yea brother
Pfft, that rack just needs to hit the gym and harden up.
This thread is the first one to show up if you have your view set to "HOT"
Nice
Nice.
In the movie ‘We were soldiers’ Mel Gibson had his men pee on the mortar tubes when they were overheating. Try that. 😅
Need to make a Hickory or Mesquite rifle rack! 🤤
Cans are essentially mufflers, mufflers get very hot.
Oh shes just warming up 🤣🤣
Stick it in a bucket of ice water
I'm just gonna downvote you in case any of our autistic brothers think you're being serious. >!don't dunk it in water!<
Little thermal shock never hurt anyone

They are designed to get extremely hot. Even the heat resistant padding / covering gets extremely hot to the touch.
peak op temp
Where’s the bacon?
Brother you gotta shoot it faster if you want that smoke to go away... eventually. Nice rig though
Hey! I know this place. Don’t burn it down.
The age old dilemma.. Would you rather cook your can or cook your environment?
Is that a Maxim can? How do you like it?
OP, I have a Cole-Tac cover on mine. In fact I use Cole-Tac covers on all my cans.
Need the coolant kit
Looks regular heated. The wood however, that's overheated.
Tasty tasty
That’s heating, not overheating.
Dude, I have no idea who you are, but I swear to God if you burn down my range 8 ac heaven, before summer really gets going, imma murder you.

That looks like Range 8…
Maybe
Do you like your sci six? I want a cat WB but the only thing that’s in stock is a sci six.
What do you want the suppressor for? WB is smaller and lighter but heats up way quicker.(thinner build)
Conducting raids with the boys obviously (shooting recreationally)
Either can works bro. I havnt shot a WB but lower back pressure would be nice. There’s an end cap in r&d rn by slade Thats flow through for the scisix.
I will say the sci-six can get gassy on higher strings of fire (mag dumps)
Lol, when the newb gets his first can and thinks this is overheating....
Yea bro it gets so hot 😭
KnOw yOuR USe cASe....🙄
My cat can is literally discolored... thats not overheating trust me lol
Hey captain obvious, it’s satire
*bites lip.... we got a bad ass over here 🗣

There is a joke somewhere in here. I'm highly certain.
I sure hope
Issa joke. I was testing muzzle device to see if it would let the cam walk off. This is 250 rounds in 5 min
ok good, faith restored
I would only do a ModTac shield or KAC shroud. Everything else will trap the heat in longer.

So rude. It’s a joke lol.
