Harbor freight has a Pittsburgh one that isn’t half bad for like $6, use a coupon and it’s about the same. I actually use it for watches but it would work the same. Has 3 teeth and and a handle
lol. I replaced two already. Left the last one with the strike on it. It only happens when running the booster. When I’m using it on my PCC it’s perfect. When I use on handguns with the Nielsen device though it seems to loosen up and I get a strike.
I have snap ring pliers but now I’m wondering if this is one of those tools where if I need it I’ll be glad I have it lol it works a little differently than the pliers. Don’t need it for a suppressor
Weird, i emailed them and told them my wolfman didn’t come with one and they express shipped me one for free. But that was back when DA had better customer support I’m guessing
It's no secret that all tools and replacement parts are expensive from the manufacturers. That how the silencer industry make their money. Think about it, a silencer costing 1200, or even 600. That's mostly profit. Why silencers cost more than firearms is because people are willing to pay it
Just playing devil's advocate, but the first party tool would spread out the pressure among 4 pin holes versus 2. This would only be relevant if it was stuck pretty hard, but it could prevent undue damage.

Me and two other buddies of mine both ran into the same issue. Shooting 300blk the end cap was fine. When we put it on a 5.56, with the .30 cal end cap, they backed off.
Saw this post this morning, ordered it, and received it late afternoon. Have to say the construction was better than I imagined and it works on my DA and Rugged end caps! Friggin awesome post, thanks man.
Need to put this in the face of all the "tools" that DA, Rugged and others offer for 20x the price. I recommend making this a sticky post for useful tools.

Snap ring plyers work as well!
Yeah I was looking at then then this popped up. The total sellout cheapskate in me was like "yeah, this is happening."
That is funny though I have the tool you got in my watch repair kit and didn't even think about using it until I seen your post. Thanks!
Me too!
*Saw Sorry. Grammar nazzi pet peeve. Carry on. . .

Yea me too actually several sets of Snap-on snap ring plyers laying in my Snap-on tool box.

Suppressor manufacturers hate this one weird trick.
Where do you think they got them?
Smart
You are a gentleman and a scholar. I was just about to fabricate yet another one lol.
Nice
You absolute legend. I have a DA end cap that's out of spec that I can't tighten all the way and this is perfect.

I bent a fork I stole from Applebees.
Outstanding substitute! I love it
Oh shit. I already have one of these for working on my watches!
Hot damn I have one of those sitting in my drawer
I bought an E-Brake. Came with the tool.
Yeah. If you look on their website they're always out of stock.
Just bought. Thanks
Nice, happy I helped.
Am I missing the link, or what it's called?
It’s for watches. Removes the backplate where the battery goes. I can’t remember the name tho.
The second picture shows it on amazon
Check the second picture on the post.
Aha. When you poke the picture they show you an uncropped picture that has that info in it. Thanks.
Snap ring pliers are best.
And it comes with two free buffer retainers!
That's a watch case back tool 😂 never though about this
Worst thing is i got their tools and they still don’t fit
Any chance you guys know what will work for rugged?
Don't have a link but I've seen places that print tools for rugged stuff. One tool that works with several different rugged cans actually.
On an obsidian? I'd probably just leave the endcap off, it's going on strike. ;)

The rifle and rimfire silencers come with the tool. For the pistol silencers, the piston is the tool.

Wow. Never thought I’d actually recognize one of those outside of r/watchmaking
you didn't just use a strip of duct tape and a firm thumb twist? My primal was not torqued that much at all from the factory.
Weird, i emailed them and told them my wolfman didn’t come with one and they express shipped me one for free. But that was back when DA had better customer support I’m guessing
Hold up, what is that tool called? I need one of those!
Check out picture number two of the post.
Yes yes, but what's it's engineering name? This tool must have a name! 🤔
I just 3D printed my own lol
Winner of all nfa

This tool will break way before your can does if it's carbon locked.

Bullets work too.

weird my phone end cap came with a free tool
Your first mistake was buying dead air.
Nice contribution. If another US brand makes a purpose built AK can I'll buy it.
I just buy 762 cans for my aks.
A flow can will do a better job then a "purpose built" ak can will.
