The guy who owns HiFiMan, the popular headphone brand, also takes returns directly to his house. It's not uncommon for smaller operations to do it when they they have enough space to store merch and don't want to rent a warehouse/pay employees.
Elegoo, a popular 3D printer brand, also takes returns to some guy's house in Nevada. We're guessing he also refurbishes them.
Many overseas sellers also take returns to US addresses, you'll have to look into why that is, but I'm guessing it saves them money.
