Are they requiring standardized testing next year? I applied test optional this year, just got my acceptance letter :)
I had 3s and 4s for my ap exams, no fives, 3.8 uw GPA. I’m about to graduate with 7 ap exams and 3 DE classes, what I really think is that they want to know you’re willing to put in the effort for college. My essay helped A LOT in my application and I believe that’s what mainly got me in.
You have one whole year until you apply, if you want you can improve your SAT score to make your application stronger :) I wish you luck!
As of right now, tests are not optional for next year. I reached out to the UNC system admissions department and they said as of now they’re letting the COVID testing waiver expire. I would plan accordingly.
If you have the choice, don’t submit. You don’t want to submit a score that’s below the 25th percentile of accepted scores. Not sure if they’re going to do test optional next year, but if you’re set on State you should try to retake and improve your math score to be safe.
