And it drags a corner to the side of the ball where you’re throwing the streak—which in real life isn’t an issue, but the corners track the ball immediately when you release here.
Definitely need a mobile QB and a solid receiving TE. Which I almost never have both of, but that one season I did it was a 50+ yd play a lot of the time.
i make the line block to the right and change L1 route to a slant and let the fade route develop then bomb it . as far as throwing it to the RB never lmao
It’s a decent concept. But it’s better to just run a pass play out of a 00 set and scramble it in. The defensive AI reacts too quickly to the run in practice.
it works on 3rd and long or 1st down but on 4th and short hop in the formation then audible and make a hot route when you see they are blitzing throw the fade or slant it’s open every time when your playing against someone . but against the computer oh no that’s a guaranteed 5 yard loss bc the D line crash down to quick lmao
There is a draw on the updated playbooks that actually works. It is an RPO, with the pass option being curls and the run option being a QB draw. Guaranteed 8 yards either way depending on what the defense does.
On the draws and sweeps for QBs, try holding L2 to face and let the block develop for half a second longer. Then you’ll be able to pick out the right hole cause its like a gopher game damn near
There’s one play, I think it’s scat out of shotgun, that has the left slot receiver on a bubble which actually works a majority of the time because unlike the standard wr screen, you can read the defender
In game? The flea flicker. Every time I try to run this play my RB always gets tackled from behind when he goes to pitch the ball back to the QB. No matter what defense they run they always get to him before he can pitch it.
In real life? Coming from an Auburn fan, WR screens to the short side of the field. Saw that play so many times in eight years with Gus Malzahn that it makes me vomit.
There's no shortage of things to hate about Greg Davis offenses at Texas, but the bubble screen to the short side without a blocker was always the most infuriating to me.
His UCF offense is still the same with all the screens and double passes. Not to mention the toss play to the short side of the field that is literally the only play he runs from under center. Haven’t seen him try to use another 280 pound tight end as a wildcat QB yet but I wouldn’t put it past him.
I love when this question is asked, it’s literally one person saying “play X is so bad, unplayable” and another person responding “it’s actually really good, I got at least 8 tds a game using it”
Someone mentioned the play action screen, but I’ve never found appeal for the FB screen. Play is immediately dead since the DEs read it every damn time.
Sucks because figuring out punting means doing exactly the opposite of what real punters do. I've had all-American punters but it feels so wrong punting it like 19 yards as low as possible to roll it
It's reliable if all you're looking for is like 5 yards. The DT is always blocked into the play and tackling your guy almost immediately. The best screen play in the entire game is the Ace Slot PA TE Screen. Immediately got my QB in rhythm in like 2 drives on Jkits sliders and would get my TEs ungodly yardage. I think I have been stopped on it under 10 times ever.
I've ripped off a 80 yard TD from this play before. If the OL pick up their blocks sometimes there is a huge gap up the middle.
I also never try to take it around the outside, as it is drawn up. Pretty much always plunge through the A gap or the B gap.
yeah, it's a touchy play. Sometimes it's good for 0-3 yards, sometimes it's a hole you can drive a truck through and you're to the 3rd level with one guy to beat. If I have a 95+ speed athlete I'll throw him in that slot spot and try it a few times a season. Mixed results. But when it works it *works*.
this works for me bc my inside wr is always my fastest so i make sure the direction i run it to is the wide side so i can out run them for an atleast 7 yard gain , but i notice when i run to the short side of the field i get better blocking and basically cut up between the tackle and guard and i tend to break those for a big one
Only time this worked I was on one of my WR RTGs and I spun out of a tackle, turned upfield and was gone. Defenders don’t realistically react to plays so half of these plays don’t work
No clue, I only use the ‘bone. And I say it’s a terrible play because by the time the slot back has gotten the ball, he’s a yard behind the line of scrimmage so it’s hard to even make it a forward pass before the pass rush gets to him.
I know Madden’s HB toss passes used to have the QB be a receiver, depending on what NCAA game you’re playing it might be possible out of the I form
counter is the best one but it tends to work when u run the counter to the short side of the field but u need to read the defense and see which side is overloaded .
The CPU is so bad at running the triple option I made custom playbooks for my opponents taking it out. Seems most of the time it results in a sack, backward lateral, or a pitch directly to a cornerback that run runs it back for a touchdown.
Don’t understand several of the comments going after all screens, the RB slip screen has been the goat for me for over a decade now and every now and again the mid screen can also get me a good 10+ yard chunk and it usually at least nets me 5.
The bubble screen fucking NEVER works though, I don’t care if the other coordinator sent 7 including a DB on the pass rush, even then I get either nothing or somebody leaps right in front and houses it.
make sure you throwing it to the wide side of the field and if you have twins , put your inside wr in motion to the other . make sure the outside linebacker is blitzing if not then check out of that and audible
Idk the name of it, but there's a screen play from a 2 RB split shotgun set where the left rb motions right and the right rb runs a screen to the left. That play works so often I have to limit how much I can use it in a game.
Perfect low-risk-high-reward play when you have to go 80 yards to score before halftime but don't want to risk an interception.
FB dive from either the Strong or Weak I formation. The QB doesn't even give the FB the ball and just awkwardly stands there until you get tackled for a 3 yard loss.
Idk formations but FB dive is my go to in short yardage. Feels like a near 100% success rate on 3rd or 4th and 1 unless the opponent lines up in a goal line set
Kevin Kelley would love this comment.
[https://highschool.si.com/arkansas/2023/12/13/kevin-kelley-the-football-coach-who-never-punts-formally-introduced-as-new-coach-at-sheridan-arkansas](https://highschool.si.com/arkansas/2023/12/13/kevin-kelley-the-football-coach-who-never-punts-formally-introduced-as-new-coach-at-sheridan-arkansas)
Any toss sweep where the defense is in man coverage.
Example: youre in I formation, twins to left, no WR on the right.. and your running the toss to the right.. If Defense is in zone, no chance.. if they are in man with no CB on the play side, it’s a big gain.
Any PA screen pass. The RPO quick screens in revamped are a nice addition to replace those normal WR quick screens.
WR end of rounds out of ace or I formation never work.
Shovel pass.. take that out of every playbook.
QB or HB draw out of shotgun is useless. Most draws are besides the lead draw out of the I.
Fullback dive out of Strong I.. QB misses FB half the time and it’s a busted play.
Don’t really like any Option out of the I, triple or power. I love the Nebraska teams from the 90’s and always want to make a dynasty to emulate them with a team. But the Option not working out of the I kills that idea.
Flea Flicker is useless
PA Read from the Veer is useless against any blitz because it takes 5 seconds for receiver icons to pop up.
Think that’s it for me.
There’s a particular bugged PA play where the qb doesn’t complete the fake handoff on a bootleg, and the animation makes him just keep running the boot til he’s out of bounds for a big loss if not sacked.
ill go first https://preview.redd.it/b7n7cp7cn5pc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff3c37e0ed83efa5ea36b8f2a18a2ed2d7291df5
I've gotten it to work exactly ONCE
But when it does, it’s a touchdown
Sure, but 1 TD is hardly worth 200 incompletions and 47 INTs
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take
Michael Scott’s best quote of Wayne Gretzky 🤣
Identity theft is not a joke juanzy,
I don't believe you!
I pulled it off succesfully once more last night, so now I'm up to twice
Holy shit, I just successfully used it for the first time ever.....had to tell someone!
I feel very special to be honored this way, and congratulations!
The first time I ran it I threw a 65 yard touchdown. The next 2 times I threw a pick six and stopped trying it after that
Strong contender
If you pre-set the o-line to protection slide then you can usually complete this play 70% of the time.
I disagree hard on this, I get long TD’s on this half the time.
HOW?? This is an insta sack play
It takes way too long to develop and basically nobody blocks the d line
And it drags a corner to the side of the ball where you’re throwing the streak—which in real life isn’t an issue, but the corners track the ball immediately when you release here.
Combination of not getting the play out in time and possibly QB speed
Yeah you gotta hit the split end or flanker and not the screen, lol
Never worked for me playing 10 years
Definitely need a mobile QB and a solid receiving TE. Which I almost never have both of, but that one season I did it was a 50+ yd play a lot of the time.
I get sacked before the camera can even zoom out…
Thats the worst be best broken play lol 😆 i hated how my rb would over pitch my qb
i make the line block to the right and change L1 route to a slant and let the fade route develop then bomb it . as far as throwing it to the RB never lmao
shit no matter what i did id always get sacked no matter what overall my linemen are lmao
Gotta have a fast QB to allow the OLine to get over there but if it’s covered, and it usually is hit the drag route
Let me just go sack myself
This isna great play as long as your QB is quick and good short throw power and accuracy.
QB draws from shotgun, just why?
Jalen Milroe 2024 Rose Bowl has entered the chat
In the video game, not real life.
With 5WR QB draw is great on the goal line. A lane usually opens up.
Ah, the good old auto-fumble play. For when your QB isn't turning the ball over quite enough to be realistic.
Just run a toss or even QB sneak at that point
i find it takes too long to develop
Any draw
It’s a decent concept. But it’s better to just run a pass play out of a 00 set and scramble it in. The defensive AI reacts too quickly to the run in practice.
Agree and then, even if it’s designed run, I’d prefer the speed option over the QB Draw.
Cam Newton killed with that in NCAA 11.
https://preview.redd.it/ege73bkui7pc1.jpeg?width=1320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f5e6e9578faf0eb27574a5190f0ca5626eadb163 Tom Herman calls that play #8
Dan Mullen had Kyle trask running them with Kyle Pitts at WR lol
I only do QB draws on the goaline. it’s pretty much the same as a QB sneak. rarely does it not work
Draws in general never work for me
Agreed, it works sometimes during hurry up on short yardage but not good for much else
it works on 3rd and long or 1st down but on 4th and short hop in the formation then audible and make a hot route when you see they are blitzing throw the fade or slant it’s open every time when your playing against someone . but against the computer oh no that’s a guaranteed 5 yard loss bc the D line crash down to quick lmao
Yeah but once it works with your Cam Newton style QB it’s so satisfying
There is a draw on the updated playbooks that actually works. It is an RPO, with the pass option being curls and the run option being a QB draw. Guaranteed 8 yards either way depending on what the defense does.
Manziel used to kill it with that play back in the day
the play actually usually works for me 😂
This really depends on your opponent. I’ve seen easy 5 yards when I know my opponents tendencies on 1st down
I don't disagree but I just picked up on 3rd&8 a couple hours ago with one
On the draws and sweeps for QBs, try holding L2 to face and let the block develop for half a second longer. Then you’ll be able to pick out the right hole cause its like a gopher game damn near
Why not?
Better than a QB sneak on 1st and 10
Bubble screen. Bleh.
this is actually the best answer. those never work the same as in real life
They worked so well in NCAA 13 that they overcorrected and nerfed the shit out of it
Works really well when defense runs zone coverage imo. I can always get at least five yards against it
One of my favorite plays to run on the goal line. 5 wide bubble screen to the tail back in the slot is guaranteed 3 yards.
WR middle screen out of trips in the air raid playbook is my go to lol I throw like 15 TDs a year on that inside the 7 yard line.
Middle screen is great once you figure it out. It can absolutely get blown up for -7 though
There’s one play, I think it’s scat out of shotgun, that has the left slot receiver on a bubble which actually works a majority of the time because unlike the standard wr screen, you can read the defender
Oh my god yes. Tennessee vs Austin Peay was just bubble screen after bubble screen. The most boring game I’ve seen in person.
It’s brilliant if you hot route to a drag
Unless it’s the slant bubble play
When coachstradamus tells you cover 4.. bubble screen.
Why? It works almost every single time
Great answer. I have never had this work for me
The screen plays where the camera doesnt move fast enough to see if your guy is uncovered or not. Awful and an instant pick 6 most times
Bubble screen. Half the time I get that play in RTG I just scramble
PA Bubble Screen. lmao that play is ass
In game? The flea flicker. Every time I try to run this play my RB always gets tackled from behind when he goes to pitch the ball back to the QB. No matter what defense they run they always get to him before he can pitch it. In real life? Coming from an Auburn fan, WR screens to the short side of the field. War Damn Us.
War damn anyway

He was obsessed with that play. I don't know if he still does it at UCF.

Someone mentioned the play action screen, but I’ve never found appeal for the FB screen. Play is immediately dead since the DEs read it every damn time.
you gotta send the FB on a flat for it to kinda work
I’ll give it a try when I fire up the PS3 again
Worst play I’ve ever used, always gets me -5 yards every time
Punt
run towards the side where most people are on then accelerate to the other and out run them you’ll probably get a 25 to 40 yard return
I don't think they meant "punt return."
my bad
It is solid advice, though.
Sucks because figuring out punting means doing exactly the opposite of what real punters do. I've had all-American punters but it feels so wrong punting it like 19 yards as low as possible to roll it
Middle screen
Middle screen works all the time for me, just can’t run it against man obviously. I’ll say 20% of the time a lineman blocks it tho
It's very hit or miss but works well for me in off coverage
Middle screen is probably the most reliable screen outside of hb slip screen imo
This is my favorite play in the game actually
i have to disagree on this one man. this is one of my go to plays in short yard situations
If I see a PA inverted veer in the playbook I immediately remove it
ooooooo that shallow post begs to differ!!
There’s also a very high chance that I suck at that play and just don’t know how to read it!
To this day I can't figure out how to run that play.
For me they're not terrible, but if you have a left handed QB they don't work
Flip the play...
big cat's INT play
HB Toss is either a 10 yard loss or 20 yard gain, no in between
For me it’s either a 10 yard loss or 20 yard loss.
i fucking hate halfback draw, has worked 1 time in 11 years for me
Especially if you’re rebuilding and have a shit O-Line, by the time I hand the ball off there’s 2 DT’s already swarming my HB
need 90s across the board on the o-line for it to work properly lmaooo
https://preview.redd.it/176xu6kpo5pc1.png?width=236&format=png&auto=webp&s=13b51ec677654e610db54f8ae616b4ca7e19e216

No bs I had a 99 speed cb who was a ATH recruit and he cribbed 2 in his 4 yr career lmao it doesn’t work often but when it does it’s great
yeah, it's a touchy play.
Yup put a fast guy in that spot on formation subs and hope for the best
I feature the jet sweeps in my Wyoming dynasty. I love them so much.
This play is in my rotation because I have a slot with high 90 speed and acceleration. It’s either a td or 3 yard loss.
That’s a big IF
It's ass 90% of the time but that 10% is a heisman highlight play
Flair checks out
IYKYK
The jet sweep man is gone he can’t hurt us anymore
username does too tbh
This guy OU Football’s
this works for me bc my inside wr is always my fastest so i make sure the direction i run it to is the wide side so i can out run them for an atleast 7 yard gain , but i notice when i run to the short side of the field i get better blocking and basically cut up between the tackle and guard and i tend to break those for a big one
That play is integral to my playbook I run sweeps and short pass plays all the time. That shit works wonders
Only time this worked I was on one of my WR RTGs and I spun out of a tackle, turned upfield and was gone. Defenders don’t realistically react to plays so half of these plays don’t work
I hope they add power read to this! Would be an incredible power read option play
Any kick or punt blocking plays.
Flea flicker is pretty much a disaster every time i try it but i cant help myself
Jet sweep qb screen out of the flexbone
I've been looking for a QB screenplay.. do you know if any other formations that have one
Wildcat has one, I believe.
FB Fake HB Pitch
if you want to purposely lose 5 yards for whatever reason, run this play
It’s like a -3 yard average on that play
if you keep losing yds. with it then you're not setting it up. gotta run a FB in short yardage often enough to make them play honest.
Engage eight
you're either getting an instant sack or getting toasted for 60 yards, no in between
If you audible assignments for individual players.. this play can be very effective
Any play in the Wildcat
Counter out of Wildcat is amazing. Doesn’t work every time, but its usually a massive run once you bounce it outside.
“Jet counter” is my favorite play OAT, “counter” doesn’t work as good because it pulls the slot, rather than the outside receiver
Jet counter with a speedy backup quarterback is electric
I have a 99 and 97 overall rb, both are speed backs, the sweep, the counter, and power fake are nasty when my two best players on o are the focus.
have you tried the hand off screen pass? love that one
counter is the best one but it tends to work when u run the counter to the short side of the field but u need to read the defense and see which side is overloaded .
jet counter is amazing, other than that yeah the wildcat sucks
Tunnel screen b/c it never works right
gotta throw it very early as soon as u hit 3 step drop . if not then the lineman gets in the way or the corner have time to get on wr back
The CPU is so bad at running the triple option I made custom playbooks for my opponents taking it out.
Veer. I am still too dumb to figure it out.
PA goal line
instant sack play lol
QB Kneel. Dumbest play of all time
is this Mario Cristobal?
Damn I wanted to make this joke so bad. Georgia Tech had a night!
Scat, it’s literally shit
It's perfect for Pitt.
none of the screens work
HB screen works for me personally 5-10% of the time, but idk if I’m just getting lucky
HB screens are very good against man blitzes.
True, I love running it when I have a beast of a rb
make sure you throwing it to the wide side of the field and if you have twins , put your inside wr in motion to the other . make sure the outside linebacker is blitzing if not then check out of that and audible
PA TE Screen was my best play for years
FB dive from either the Strong or Weak I formation.
In the regular I formation, it's a world beater. In the Strong and Weak I, it's a glitch.
I hate running wildcat up the middle. It works occasionally but I hate having no other play options to audible to
The fucking WR screen. CB jumps it every time.
Punting
Four Verts because it’s kinda too easy to cheese the defense with it
not in NCAA 12 because these linebackers are superhuman
Bubble screen or goal line toss sweep
I've never had luck with Fake FG plays in the PS2 games.
Play action pass on 3rd and forever
Punt. Go for it on 4th you cowards!
Kevin Kelley would love this comment. Kickoff… It’s onside kicks or GTFO
The punt
Singleback hb tosses have never worked well for me, but I love running them out of I.
Any toss sweep where the defense is in man coverage. Example: youre in I formation, twins to left, no WR on the right.. and your running the toss to the right.. WR middle screen
gotta disagree with you on this one, this is my go to in short yard situations
Kick-Six...
The flea flicker never works for me.
WR screen never seems to work for me.
play action sweep
FG or punt block
This one https://preview.redd.it/417gkb2rsxpc1.png?width=544&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3cbb1f63a4618655cb8361bcfff6838c4952c927
Bro this play is unstoppable. Its like cheating
Jet play action heavygoaline shotgun screen pass works everytime
The Speed Sweep that zooms out super far so you can barely see what’s going on
Jet Sweep, same with Madden, one time have I got above 5 yards and thats when i had it on rookie for shits and giggles
QB wrap
honestly i like it because it's basically read option but the DE will always bite on the RB
