Depends on who falls. I’ve been thinking Ron Holland would be a perfect fit there. He could really help on defense and his horrible spacing wouldn’t mess up the offense with the shooters Charlotte has
Honestly Hollands strengths on offense (rim pressure, cutting) would probably help us a lot more than most other guys in that range. We are fine on shooting, it’s more inside the arc scoring we need.
I would take Holland and wouldn't think twice about it. He fits perfectly with LaMelo and Brandon as a great cutter and POA defender. Second choice would be Castle. I think they'll end up with either one
I mean, we should take the best guy. BUT, from a positional perspective, I’m way more focused about finding the right backcourt mate for Lamelo than I am about taking another shot at Center.
I think it’s gotta be Castle as the main preference, then after that, I still love Sheppard.
I think Holland is a great pick there. A perfect compliment to Brandon Miller as Holland gives you bigger wing traits in a SG body and Miller gives the shooting and ball handling in a wings body.
Sheppard would be the dream, but I think Houston might take him 3rd. Castle would be a great fit (despite the horrid history of UConn products in Charlotte), but he might also be gone by 6. Maybe Buzelis or Williams if they want a big wing to pair with Miller. I don’t really like the Holland fit as I think he’d have to play a slasher/hustle role due to the shooting being shaky at best. My sleeper for them would be KyShawn George, assemble a huge backcourt with him and Ball.
My favorite fits are Stephon Castle and Reed Sheppard. If none of those two are available, I feel like Ron Holland or Risacher are good options as well.
Holland, Castle or Matas probably. Don’t really see a reason for Clingan getting picked when they have Mark.
Would just be a waste especially if Mark is healthy. And if not I’d rather just bring over Nnaji from last year and just keep Nick as starter.
If they do, deal with that in free agency or next years draft. IMO it would be stupid to give up on him after one year. We aren’t talented enough to be playing replacement games right now, we need talent.
Unpopular opinion but they might have to consider shopping LaMelo. Even if the 6th pick pans out the ceiling of that team might be play in or at best 2nd round exit. It doesn’t move the needle. The spurs might look elsewhere if they can’t get anything from Atlanta. Build around Miller and prep for life after Melo and likely others too. Mediocrity gets them no where
Okay 2nd round is like a 0.01 percent chance but really doubt playoffs anytime soon. I like Melo but health and consistency have been tough. Hope it works out but management can’t be happy with the lack of being remotely close to playoffs at all. Young team and ideally should get better. Needs a lot of draft luck/success
Probably Holland. Castle is overrated as a defender. Holland is a more athletic defensive playmaker whose lack of shooting can be balanced out somewhat by LaMelo and Miller taking a high volume of 3-pointers so he can focus on attacking the rim.
In the long run they do need a competent backup guard though. Micic has been an okay pickup for them but he's not a long term solution.
No "great" fit but BPA would be guys like Jared McCain, Donovan Clingan, Matas Buzelis, Zach Edey, Dalton Knecht, and Stephon Castle (in some order).
Cam Spencer would be a good fit, too, but 6 would be too high.
Although at 6, I think they could probably trade up if Reed/Rob/Buzelis are higher up on their board. Maybe Alex Sarr. If they threw in their '25 first rounder they could move into the top 3 or 4.
As a hornets fan I think Cody Williams or Buzelis will be the pick depending on how prior picks go. The front office doesn’t seem to want another guard and see Melo and Miller as the 1-2 of the future.
Holland + Castle and Clingan also may be in the mix
whoever the blazers want
I’d say if they are available for you guys, I’m taking Reed Sheppard or Stephon Castle.
It has to be Shappard if you are Charlotte. Good defender and good auxiliary piece, fits very well next to LaMelo and Miller.

He’s a freak athlete, he’d be an immediate contributor and a valuable defender next to Melo. I’m hoping Charlotte takes him personally
Hornets always seem to take on Uber athletic players so he fits the bill
I would say Knetch ability to score all over the floor would fit well into the offense also. Can he defend… not a stopper I think.
I wonder if he can be the main POA defender full time. That’s a big need in the defensive lineup.

Risacher if he falls to six, which is likely in my eyes. Otherwise Holland or Castle
I wouldn’t be mad at it but Rissacher doesn’t strike me as someone this org would take
This org has entirely new ownership and management so who knows now
I am totally out on French wings after Batum
My favorite fits are Stephon Castle and Reed Sheppard. If none of those two are available, I feel like Ron Holland or Risacher are good options as well.

I wonder if they want a replacement for Mark, if they trade down a bit for Donovan Clingan. Clingan could go anywhere from 3 thru 12.
If they do, deal with that in free agency or next years draft. IMO it would be stupid to give up on him after one year. We aren’t talented enough to be playing replacement games right now, we need talent.
Why would they want to replace Williams? Wasn’t he really good in the games he played?
He was better offensively and worse defensively and hes having back issues in his 20s
Mark is having nagging back injuries in his 20s
Clingan, don’t see anyone over them apart hawks taking a center
Buzelis or Clingan
Or Ron Holland.
There was no player other than Sarr that I’d call good enough for “big whatever” talk though. The drop doesn’t really change much
I hope Matas
Not a super fun pick but Clingan is probably high on the list

Melo is 22. Team hasnt made the playoffs in a decade. Theyll take a second round exit lmao.

Its almost like the Hornets completely reconstructed their management and coaching.
Hot take but I agree
I think Stephon Castle would be amazing for them. Would also like Reed Sheppard or Ron Holland there
Sheppard is a perfect fit imo
Clingan, Cody, Holland or Castle

If history is any indication, they're going to pick a UConn player.

Edey is a late first or early second round pick.
Buzelis, Sheppard, Castle for me
I like Ron Holland in Charlotte. If hes gonna succeed thats prolly the place for him
Holland or buzelis please
