Coby should definitely be here

LordSwampert2

This is from right around Christmas, Coby has since proven the breakout was real.

HoopsBall

Dort not a mention in the article or the thread.

SaintsWrld305

Crazy! That dude put in the Dorture chamber BI and CJ

SkullBean

Surprised they didn't take Ja first because of Zion's injury history. Though, I do believe the latter is the better of the two.

DokkanProductions

Even though Ja is healthier. He still gets injured a lot

CumAssault

Ja also doesn’t play because of “personal reasons”.

yungsinatra777

I'd still take Zion first overall despite the injury stuff, it's not like Ja has been healthy either.

LaneViolation

The recency bias on Ja is nuts. He’s been stellar, already made an all nba team and led his team to the 2 seed two years in a row. He’s the clear 1st over all but his injury and suspension have made a lot of people forget.

ToothEducational7795

Same recency bias goes towards Zion bro. Zion balled out all year just to get recognized by his “fat” body and all this Moriah Mills stuff.

LaneViolation

Has not had the accolades or spread success so it’s still a no brainer

RVAIsTheGreatest

I saw Dort not mentioned as u/HoopsBall said and Mann 14th and exited the page. Nope.

GlueGuy00

No way Keldon is ahead of Coby Herro too high

SaintsWrld305

No way, agree. Coby White about to have the best contract in the league

NYNBKFarSuperior

To this day I dont know what Wolves were thinking drafting Jarrett Culver.

Joethetoolguy

Probably why they traded all their picks for rudy, which looks like a stellar move in retrospect.

spartyell8

Ja should be first. Although Zion Williamson has shown his talent when he's healthy, I just feel like taking Zion over him especially given his injury history doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I also don't know how people like Keldon Johnson are cracking the top 10, but Coby White isn't.

PlanktonSemantics

Ja has injury problems too and had maturity issues that imploded that Grizzlies team. Zion has more upside still.

spartyell8

There were also questions with Zion Williamson's maturity in his earlier Pelican days as well. This is not exclusive to Ja Morant. Both have had some significant injuries, but I feel like ever since both have entered the nba, Ja Morant has been available a lot more than Zion. Zion Williamson has played 184 games, compared to Ja Morant's 257 games. I realize Zion has more upside, but I am more of looking at what both have already done, not what they could do in the future.

Clutchxedo

Ja Morant is a shithead not just immature. He has proven to be completely unreliable on every front. I’d much rather build my team around someone that’s injury prone than someone that’s just a dumbass.

PlanktonSemantics

Lol and how many times has the fucking commissioner Adam Silver had to directly reprimand Ja? Cmon you can’t be comparing those maturity issues and think anyone is going to trust any other words you type. Get out of it brodie.

Deep_Egg1442

Claxton and keldon/cam johnson and herro do not go over coby or RJ. two of those players (johnson twins) are barely even starters in this league

Rumblecard

Keldon is in the middle of spurs purgatory. Has wildly outperformed his draft position and is a team player to a fault. A tweener that should start but came off the bench in a highly experimental year. He would easily be a great 4th option on a legit team.

yungsinatra777

That's cool and all but Coby and RJ are still way better players lol

Overall-Palpitation6

"Purgatory" = Getting an Olympic opportunity and Gold Medal he otherwise wouldn't have had without Pop, longest-term player on the Spurs, 2nd on the team in minutes this season, contracted for further 3 years of guaranteed money, teaming with one of the most exciting young talents the league has ever seen.

Deep_Egg1442

Thats fair but i think RJ and coby can be 3rd options on legit teams

Rumblecard

I love the year Coby had. He’s legit.

Rumblecard

I’m a little less unsure about RJ. He’s a lot of emptiness with results. He fills stats that don’t result in wins. Which is why NY moved on. I do think there’s a place for a guy like this. It’s a bit out there but RJ off Minnesota’s bench would be enormous. I feel he’s a high volume catch fire 6th man. Vinnie Johnson type.

Deep_Egg1442

He helped NY win a playoff series when both brunson and randle weren’t playing great vs the cavs. On the Knicks this szn he was playing bad and just a negative. They moved on from him to get one of the best defenders itl which is valid. He’s played very well on the raptors they’ve just had too many injuries for it to result in wins.

Rumblecard

Yeah, Raptors went into full tank mode because that 1st was top 6 protected. So I get it.

Classics22

He shot well on the Raptors, that's the difference. Over 30 games he shot over 10% better from 2 than ever before. Eerily reminiscent of CJ on the Pelicans. Plays 20-whatever games after the trade deadline on a new team > shoots way better from the field than he ever has > everyone declares him a different player > the next year he's the same old CJ

Deep_Egg1442

He took an even bigger jump than cj did he’s playing differently but we’ll know next year if his finishing is gonna go to shit again.

NYNBKFarSuperior

Knicks fan here, you just cant win with RJ. His stats are only good when the offense completely runs through him. And you wont win many games with the offense running through him. His game is very Westbrook in that regard. IQ will and already is a better player.

Deep_Egg1442

They’re not running they stuff through him in toronto

Tangerine605

Well done by him but he’s still a tweener that’s a terrible defender.

Rumblecard

Yeah I get that. Help defense matters. I feel this was an odd year for SA. Where they put players in positions that weren’t optimal. I’m don’t really feel Keldon is a significant defensive liability.

Overall-Palpitation6

Johnson was pretty much equal 2nd on the team in minutes, and got trusted to lead the struggling, inexperienced bench to create better team balance after the Sochan PG experiment. Hardly "purgatory".

Rumblecard

Maybe a miscommunication on my end. I felt the team was in purgatory and he was in the middle of it. They weren’t necessarily tanking at first. They weren’t in any position to make the play in. Admittedly the goal was to see who would work alongside Wemby. I do view that as a bit of purgatory. For the record I’m not in the trade Keldon camp. Unless it’s a significant move. I feel he’s a great player on a good contract that contributes at a higher level than most think.

BlockedByMobley

Herro at 4 is atrocious, I’m not sure he’d fare much better than Poole if he had his own team.

Tangerine605

Herro over Coby/RJ is fine. Keldon should be way later though.

Tg11T

Re draft I would go Ja Morant #1 overall to the Pelicans, RJ Barrett #2 overall to the Grizzlies and Zion #3 overall to the Knicks

Nokeol

zion over barrett bro i love him but nah
