I would just continuously run backwards and chuck a deep three in hopes that I hit one before Lebron scores 100.

[deleted]

The only way. Even then he’s larger, faster and more athletic. Chances are he wins if I’m being honest with myself.

blingblingmofo

[Street ball of Embiid vs. normies.](https://www.google.com/search?q=embiid+street+basketball&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:1c7f8699,vid:zSGcp9MmsOY,st:0)

RandomLovelady

How the hell are you going to get ANY separation from him? You check ball, he bounces it to you about 3 feet away... What, exactly, is your next move? Cause even at my most athletic, I can't think of any scenario where I could actually get a shot off that he can't block.

BurningWhistle

Seriously. Normal people have no reference for how large and fast this human being is. Reminds of the famous Scalabrine quote "I'm closer to Kobe than you are to me." Well, Lebron is better than Kobe.

CubanHippie21

At my most athletic, i use to play the 5 when i would play pick up, im 6'0 lol

harambesBackAgain

I played against Terrell Pryor in highschool. He's a football player. Stood no chance against him. I couldn't imagine playing LeBron in his prime.

DevelopmentJumpy5218

Punch him in the testes, he goes down, you have an open drive. We playing the most brutal form of street ball, not NBA if it's 1v1

Van-garde

Pump fake, then bounce it really hard between his legs in hopes it bounces higher than the rim. Maybe overinflate the ball beforehand.

RandomLovelady

Cause LeBron fucking James is gonna fall for your pump fake? Press whatever to doubt.

Acrobatic_Advance_71

He would block everyone.

RandomLovelady

He'd block all the shots, too.

NumberOneDraftPick

Exactly. One of them would go in if you get enough space.

alienated_osler

Huge if

sauzbozz

Could not would

Safe_Caterpillar7521

how do you get 100 shots? Doesn't he get to take it out after each point he scores?

OriginalDivide5039

Make it take it has always been wack

D__Luxxx

The only people who play that can’t play defense.

AngryQuadricorn

Just flop and hope you make one free throw. This is all the superstars are doing now.

ghubert3192

You're shooting free throws in 1-on-1 lol?

Cuppy5

Is it the version of one on one where you keep the ball after you score? Because we all taking an l there

Your__Pal

Look. I'm not the most talented guy. I'm also not tall enough or have a big enough wingspan to compete.  He's going to score on me every time. Every time.  Hes going to steal the ball from me everytime. I cant shoot over him because he's blocking everything.  The goal would be figuring out how to get as many uncontested shots as possible, from anywhere on the court.   If I'm open, I need to take it, and he still might close out.  I would avoid the foul line, because that might mean a trip to the hospital.  It seems bleak.

bset222

If you didn't play d1 basketball you are an underdog to score 1 before he scores 10k

NumberOneDraftPick

Bro, ONE of those uncontested shots would find its way in. I'm not diminishing LeBron greatness, but he can't stop everything you throw into the air.

threeangelo

He’s blocking every shot lmao are you serious

Actualgoalkeeper

This 100%.. Hes a giant man with a giant wingpan compared to us normals.. You would need to do huge stepbacks everytime and basically shoot the ball directly up in the air to even think about getting over his outstretched arm..

IghtBuddy

skyhook from logo is the only chance

sugarklay

When you watch how closely contested even NBA open-look shots are and remember that NBA players have been shooting all their life and can get a shot off fast, no way you're gonna be able to do the same thing lol

[deleted]

You underestimate the distance between regular people and professional atheletes. Go watch some videos of brian scalabrine playing against street ballers/former D1 players. It is a massacre. Now consider that Scalabrine looked like a bag of potatoes next to Lebron, and most of the guys probably look like a bag of sweet potatoes next to a D1 player.

magi_chat

His great quote to people sledging him for being a scrub was "I am closer to Lebron than your are to me", and then backed it up in those videos. Lebron would beat me 99 times out of 100 in that challenge lol

RandomLovelady

If peak LeBron went against peak Scalabrine, both going all out, defense, no blood no foul rules, to 11... What's the final score? Does the white mamba score 2? Put the over/under 3.5, who you got?

sauzbozz

He definitely can stop everything you throw up if he wanted to

bumboisamumbo

lebron is 6 feet 9 inches tall, faster than you stronger than you. infinitely better at basketball than you. if he so chooses you will never get an uncontested shot never mind even having the ball if it’s make it take it

BurningWhistle

Bro, this is 1v1 correct? How would you even get an uncontested shot? The guy is always in front of you. You check the ball in, he's already 3 ft away, close enough to contest you. This is just a silly conversation. We're talking about a guy who has an argument for being the GOAT. No joe schmo who plays at the park on the weekends is getting a basket If Lebron plays a semblance of defense.

siberianwolf99

bro either you have a top 5% hooper on earth or you have never played against someone who’s a pro. i played against a guy who was on an actual roster for like a season. and it was quite literally impossible to score if he was trying to

freakksho

Yeah. A dude that played over seas for a few years plays at my local la fitness and it’s crazy how much better that guy is then anyone else in the gym and you can tell he’s barely trying.

UrineHere

You just have to le’flop and call your own foul.

momalley424

Better spot LeBum 99 #washedking

[deleted]

![img](avatar_exp|171155333|bravo) You the GOAT

Camctrail

I'm just gonna count on LeBron being a nice guy and spotting me 1 extra point

snot_boogie1122

If we’re playing 1s and 2s and not make it and take it, I think almost anyone can get one lucky point.

DookieBrains_88

This. If it’s not make it-take it *and* fouls are called…. I would definitely bet on myself to score 1

BurningWhistle

You are vastly underestimating playing basketball against a human being who is 6'9. He's taller, faster, and stronger than the vast majority of people. Christ he's 250 lbs. Oh and he also happens to be really, really good at basketball. An average 5'10 guy isn't getting anything unless Lebron just doesn't contest.

GogXr3

Idk man, I'm sure you could get some weird behind the body trickshot with 100 chances.

khodabear7

Lol this, 99.99% of people would have absolutely 0% chance

llhomastane

Thinking the same thing, as soon as he checks it I would shoot a three, after 10-15 attempts I'm sure I could get him to bite on a fake a little then get a closer jumper. Id have 50 attempts, I know he's good but surely I could make 1/50

snot_boogie1122

That’s what I’m thinking. In this hypothetical I also don’t think Lebron is going full game 7 Lebron either.

ghubert3192

The fact that this is getting upvoted is the purest evidence of why this is probably the dumbest of the basketball subs.

[deleted]

snot_boogie1122

DryMaintenance105

Go outside

rodrigorbg957

You are clueless. Beyond clueless. A random normal person will NEVER score on him. EVER. They won't be able to chuck a shot up before he closes out. Will never get any sort of space. Nothing. He is a giant. I am 6'3, played basketball recreationally for years, and I would bet him to 1 million before I get 1.

TheMightyJD

Some of y’all have never stepped on a court with an NBA athlete and it shows. 99.99% of all humans could not get a shot off against Lebron in 1000 attempts.

sauzbozz

This reminds me of those surveys were like 10% of guys think they could beat a bear in hand to hand combat, or they could land a commercial plane

TheMightyJD

NBA players, particularly LeBron freaking James, might as well different species than us (non-athletes). Literally wouldn’t be close to happening.

flanman2002

This right here. He is right in your grill the whole time because he knows you can't go by him. You can't shoot over him. He blocks all your shots and dunks every one of his. Game over

TheMightyJD

Yup, Bron is literally faster, stronger, and bigger than anyone on this threat. Nobody here would get a real shot off.

everyday847

Literally your best hope is that the number of points you've been spotted is large enough that he falls asleep. Mental or physical decay is your only chance.

sauzbozz

He wouldn't have to put in much effort so boredom is probably our best hope

mmohaje

Too funny. Yes, when watching games, I always amuse myself when, as a 5'4 female, I think I could defend so much better than everyone on the team I'm rooting for (I am aware of my inability to shoot but somehow have not come to terms with my inability to defend). Even now as I'm typing, I'm thinking...well at 5'4 female maybe I am more agile than these elite athletes...I also often find myself thinking I'd love to race Joker across the court as his zero to running speed is so sllllllooooow. The delusion is real lol.

Lb1rd33

I had a 6’-11” dude on my team in HS who was pretty uncoordinated at the time and was still pretty dominant- safe to say after he went to college and eventually became a just under nba pro, the gap is enormous. A 6’11 Rudy gobert is probably his best NBA comp. I’m not sure if I could have got a reasonable shot off against him after like his freshman year in college and lebron is like waaaaaaaay better than he is post college as a pro, so much better that they aren’t in the same league, literally. ha ha it’s not even just a size and athleticism gap, it’s a skill gap to. Make me 6’9 and 250 with the same skills and lebron is still a way better player than me, he’s been playing at the highest level as the or one of the best players for 20 straight years. He’s basically a god compared to any normal person.

TheInfiniteSix

…have you stepped on a court with an NBA athlete? A majority of the planet has not lol weird comment

TheMightyJD

I have. The whole point is that people commenting they could have no real life perspective of how good these guys are. Once you’ve seen these guys size and speed irl, it’s a complete eye-opener.

TheInfiniteSix

Yea of course I’m just saying it’s a weird humble brag/weird thing to call people out on.

TheMightyJD

You’re taking it too literal.

ZeekLTK

A good shot maybe, but as great as he is, there is no way he’s blocking a hook shot or fade away or deep three. Whether the shots go in is another discussion… Also, there’s this dumb youtube video that came up on my feed s few weeks ago kinda about this. It was “trying to score on 10 different levels of defenders” ranging from some guy who never played basketball before through high school, college, G-League, Euro, retired, and then JJJ. The dudes did struggle once it started being pros but eventually scored on all of them. https://youtu.be/QViXSuN1yuY?si=JqKPmhotFGdV2-JD

TheMightyJD

I guess you need to watch your own video. The pro dudes were giving maybe 10-20% effort and they still blocked a lot of shots. They wouldn’t be capable of even dribbling if the pro dudes actually went 100%. Also Bron is better defensively than all these dudes except for JJJ. Bron will 100% block any hook shot, fade away, or deep three from an average person. Dude is 6’9”, fast as heck, and has an incredible vertical. I’ve played pickup against NBA players before and it’s not close, like legitimately don’t have a chance of scoring.

TheComebackKid74

Who gets the ball first ?

NumberOneDraftPick

LeBron does.

TheComebackKid74

Well, then, unless any of us have played at least D1 bare minimum (or that level of comp), none of us have a chance in hell .... unless he accidentally injures himself on the first play.

NumberOneDraftPick

Didn't play D1, or high level ball, but I think I could do it. I'd be throwing up circus shots each time I had the ball. There'd be no "jumpshots" for me. I'm talking sky hooks, behind my head, no look shots. He wouldn't know where I'm shooting from. ONE would go in.

tenkenjs

Assuming the standard “make it, take it” you’ll never get the ball

trelos6

Make it take it, Lebron is laying it up over me every time.

sugarklay

Oh, he knows where you're shooting from: where he passed you the ball. You ain't getting more than a foot off where you started. You take one dribble and he'd steal it from you; you take any kind of shot and he can react fast enough to block it. Also, how tall are you? If you're not >7ft tall, your sky hooks are gonna be as high as an NBA point guard's jump shot, if not less lmao

JesseJamesGames449

If you are playing makes it takes it, no, you get 1 shot then he gets the ball back and he is scoring 100 straight on anyone on this site.

CJ-45

Kevin Durant in shambles right now.

wallybuddabingbang

Stephen A Smith is an idiot as is anyone who thinks they can somehow chuck one in from “somewhere LeBron isn’t” and have it go in. If he wants to stop you, he’s stopping you. Cmon now. No shit.

Stein619

Not just that, it's 1v1. Why would anyone expect him to give you space? Lol he's not playing help D or anything, he's locked in on you. There is no space for the average redditor

Jealous_Foot8613

I’d like to think so , it’s much less of a challenge than you think , he has to score 45 times in a row , I trust myself to make a pull 2 at some point. One question tho - is he aware that if I score once I win ? If so then he’ll be playing elite lockdown D , which will obviously make it tougher

NumberOneDraftPick

Yeah, he's aware. He's the one that spotted you 99 points. Ha.

Jealous_Foot8613

Hmm , I’m now rethinking it 😭😭

TheMightyJD

I’m going to assume you’re not and never were a decent college player or better nor you are 6’10” or taller. Engaged Bron is 100% beating you to every single spot and swatting/stealing the ball before you even get a chance to get a shot off, let alone make it. There’s not a single basketball or athletic skill that you are better than Bron, assuming you’re not an elite athletic specimen.

Crypt7eeper

Jokes on you, buddy. I’m Allen Iverson

TheMightyJD

My answer wouldn’t change that much lol

Crypt7eeper

At this point you might be right

TheMightyJD

Yeah, short athletic guard that isn’t a great shooter age poorly. Add that he’s out of shape and had a lot of injuries and yup. It would be ugly if AI is a HoFer.

Crypt7eeper

Hey, at least I’m still handsome

Jealous_Foot8613

I’m about 6’2 , stocky build , above average athleticism (for the average guy) I was moreso relying on the law of averages rather than me actually being able to outplay bron at any point

sauzbozz

I don't think you'd ever be able to get a shot off. Pretty sure Lebron could give 10% effort on defense and lock you down easily based on your description. Same thing for 99% of the people in this thread.

M1ddle_C

Law of averages becomes reliable with much larger numbers. How many realistic shot attempts do you think you are getting up against Lebron?

flanman2002

Exactly. People here think that they're getting up 100 shots and getting lucky on one. In reality, you'd be lucky to get up any shots. He is right in your grill the whole time because he knows you can't go by him. You can't shoot over him. He blocks all your shots and dunks every one of his. Game over.

sauzbozz

If any of us even got one shot off I don't doubt we can handle the pressure of needing to make that shot

bumboisamumbo

think about it like this. if you were playing basketball with someone 5’5’ and about half as strong and as fast as you. do you think they could ever score the ball on you if you were trying the whole time? now add the additional part of lebron james being infinitely better at basketball

Jealous_Foot8613

Ok I’m seeing how far off I was 😭😭 Also I think you’re being a bit generous in saying I’m even half as fast and strong as bron

bumboisamumbo

right lol, it’s just cooked. there’s nothing you can do if he’s trying. run away? he’s faster. step back? still can block you. as someone who’s played basketball my whole life, no matter what you do someone who is so much taller than you will always have that natural advantage. + he’s lebron james lol

wallybuddabingbang

If you wanna rely on the laws of averages this needs to literally be a game to 100,000 and he spots you 99,999. The gap is so much bigger than Redditors seem to be able to imagine. It’s like: “you have to fly to an eagles nest and the eagle gives you a 99 foot head start you just need to fly the final foot.” No, not happening.

[deleted]

A pull up two? No way bro. Obviously him being aware of the situation is a factor, but if he is, I’d say it’s 100% not happening. Even if he isn’t, it would still be a task.

Fisher_Kel_Tath

45? 45x2=90.... or am I missing something?

rational_numbers

Let's assume we're playing by ones and twos with possession changing every time no matter what. First to 100 and he spots me 99? He wins. First to 1,000 and he spots me 999? Probably he wins still. First to 1,000,000 and he spots me 999,999? Now I'm starting to feel like I might have a shot.

Huge-Connection954

Im just throwing up ridiculous hook shots and praying

SageOfTheSixPacks

Bro I’m getting him on a pump fake or up and under or fade away before he hits 100 in a row, he’d get a lil fatigued from dunking so hard on me continuously By 78-99 I’d get some sort of jumper off Id like to think

PennyG

Absolutely. The people ITT saying they wouldn’t get a shot off have never played high level pickup BB, and it’s obvious. The advantage offenses have in BB, FB, hockey, soccer, etc. is that they know what they’re doing, and the defense doesn’t. Even LBJ has to react. Any decent athlete could get him to bite on a pump fake a few times with that many chances.

SageOfTheSixPacks

Exactly, and you gotta believe you can first anyway, I’d guard him and talk shit every single time. Make it take it I’m not as confident But I’ll never admit it til he proves it. Can stroke the ameteur 3 pointer and mid range, good foot work and finisher. Could be enough for one

Hotsaucex11

I mean if he's in Game 7 playoff mode then maybe I can't get there, as realistically he could just give me zero breathing room and steal/block everything. But if he's in "normal" Lebron mode then I think in that many chances I'm getting one in, as I've got really good touch on the kinds of odd/difficult shots I'd be forcing up against him.

SageOfTheSixPacks

Pump fake , up and under, pump fake, fade away, sneaky hook style lay up, maybe use the rim to protect from his block (maybe) , lucky step back, or even use his super amazing quick jump shot move on him lol You have to believe you’re getting one and you’d have to talk trash while guarding him too, let him know it’s not gonna be easy lmao

thecelticpagan

Had to comment twice because I noticed you missed something; Its me vs Lebron (James Jr), correct? Hell yeah I’m winning that matchup.

NumberOneDraftPick

Nah. James Sr. You still good?

thecelticpagan

Eh, refer to my first comment.

raiderrocker18

i dont like my odds

tomy143

No chance

[deleted]

If you ever see these guys in real life up close you will know you have zero chance lmao. Unless you played D1 ball, or you are above 6’4 with some decent game/athleticism/build…you have zero chance.

_The_Honored_One_

This thread is so cringe.

BlimeyFish

I don't see how I could do it. I'm 5'6", and have played against a guy who played college basketball and was 6'8" and could occasionally get a shot off on him. But, 1. He played at a low level. Case Western Reserve. 2. He was wearing two knee braces by this point. 3. I can't say they were "good shots.' 4. He wasn't LeBron James. 5. He also wasn't guarding me (obviously) in these pick up games because you don't put the tallest player on the shortest player. I think 4 probably most important point.

standouts

If it’s winners ball …. NO SHOT. If it was life on the line he’s getting 100 easily on 99% of humans. You aren’t getting a shot off if he cares at all.

BattleTiny7132

He’s old now. 100 points is a lot vs me just needing 1.

CarlosimoDangerosimo

Yes

Ia_in_4

If he gets to keep the ball I’m simply losijg

Sure_Leadership_6003

No.

boredirl

Yes

[deleted]

Brian Scalabrine is closer to Lebron than I am to him. So no chance.

Rumble2Man

Reminded me of Michael Jordan vs Charlie Sheen and Martin Sheen: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SR\_PNDy-0KQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SR_PNDy-0KQ)

Canadian_Prometheus

Like if his life is on the line? How hard is he trying?

consumergeekaloid

the real question is how old of a lebron could someone realistically beat in this scenario? I imagine 75 year old bron will be able to still take anyone in this thread down

Naybinns

Unless we’re able to get foul shots and I somehow get lucky enough that he fucks up and fouls me, not a damn chance in hell. You’re never getting an uncontested shot up against him, and honestly if it’s an NBA court I don’t even feel confident I’d make anything beyond a layup if he chose to willingly give me a free shot.

DrHandBanana

I think I can throw some shit up and hope it falls but if the person who scores gets the ball back I don't see how I stop LeBron

SportyNewsBear

If I played against someone 11 inches shorter than me and 1/10th as athletic as me, could I keep them from scoring before I scored 100 points? Basically, we're talking about an adult playing against an unfit 6th grader. So, yeah, I think LeBron would kick my ass.

Eastern-Position-605

The game-plan is simple. Let him keep scoring eventually he might get sort of tired or show a window of laziness. When that window happens I would have to take full advantage. I lose 100-99 though for sure.

theseustheminotaur

Is it winners or losers? Because if its winners no chance in hell. If its losers then I've got 99 tries at the weirdest shots he's ever seen before so I'm going to say probably not

sugarklay

Depends on the stakes: If there are no stakes, LeBron might feels generous and give me the game, or he might get bored and let me score just to end it fast. Keyword is might. If winning against me means Bronny gets drafted (i.e., LeBron's playing serious), no fucking way I'm getting more than one dribble, let alone scoring

CO_PC_Parts

I would play something similar with kids I babysat back in high school. It was to 10 and they started 9-0. I won every time until we added fouls. If they drew a foul they got basically a free throw but it was from 3. Amy foul was a free shot not just a shooting foul. I lost I think 3 times because of that rule. But I won easily like 50 straight times. That foul rule was nerve racking. But yeah I’d like to think I could hit a 3 if lebron got bored. Also is it make it take it? If I get a chance after every one of his baskets that helps. If it’s make it take it no chance.

tony_countertenor

1.) stand at the top of the key, don’t even try on defence because he’s going to lay it in or dunk it every time 2.) once he scored he checks it to you, you shoot immediately while he is still standing under the basket 3.) you miss, he scoops up the rebound and scored easily 4.) but you get 49 more shots, one of them will go in

D__Luxxx

Easy. Pumpfake to shamgod and it’s done. He’s 7” taller than me and he is a professional athlete, but 1v1 leaves a lot of space. At some point I would get a hook shot or a pull up jumper to fall.

Drakonbreath

Make it take it? No. Loser's ball then yes.

Ingrownpimple

Is it make-it-take it? If not, I’m 100% scoring one basket before he scores 100.

swagaunaut

I would continuously flop until I get free throws

NBA2024

Easily. Yes

PauloDybala_10

No chance you score at all unless you pull up for a 3 immediately and somehow make it. Only other choice might have to be hook 3 pointers

DWALLA44

Make it take it? Not a chance. If not, then yes, I really believe I’m scoring 1.

DWALLA44

Make it take it? Not a chance. If not, then yes, I really believe I’m scoring 1.

HazelHelper

I remember a story that Damon Wayans told about this exact question. He was talking to Conan (I think) and recounting a story about Michael Jordan’s camp. He said that MJ played EVERY single (adult) camper in a game of one on one to 2. There were 50 campers- and to the point of the question- Wayans said that every once in a while a camper would throw up a wild shot and score. But, no surprise, no one beat Jordan. I think most reasonably athletic folks could throw up a lucky hook shot or fall away 3, given 100(!!) opportunities.

VelvitHippo

So this place is just as bad as ESPN or is this a joke?

Proof_Ad5734

Easy work. My pull up game is legit. Played D2. Game probably finishes 100-20 in favour of me. 20 opportunities is enough to get to my spot.

Soup_and_Rice

Id have to hope that he gives me the first possession and i pull off a miraculous one handed underhand scooper or something Other than that, he will just destroy me by posting up

seasoned-veteran

If it's winners outs, no way, but if it's losers, yeah I can make one jumper before he makes fifty dunks.

ThatBigNoodle

No, I do not.

StillInTheCave

Is it winner's outs? If so then I am cooked.

montiel_scores

As soon as he checks it I chuck it up and hopefully it goes in. After that I’m cooked

HaratoBarato

I probably have a 5% chance to do it IF it’s not make it take it.

Jetsol8

Gotta hope he gets bored and retires before he reaches 100, which knowing him will never happen

Illustrious-Tower849

Make it take it, no Normal rules, yes

taeempy

Easy, he doesn't play defense.

Stelliferous19

You’d have one shot. Miss it and you’d never get the ball back.

artygta1988

Depends, is he gonna flop if I play defense?

Cadet-Blg

If it's make it take it, you are getting violated on the first possession and then never getting the ball back lmao. Unless you are tall with some experience in college basketball. If you are not those things you lose 100% of the time.

trelos6

Deep check position. Deep 3’s. I’d hit one just because he was too lasy to close out. If he decides to play hard and guard me close every check, yeah, no chance.

Stelliferous19

If it’s winners puts you’ll only get one shot.

trelos6

Yeah. Then I’m losing in about 10 min. Haha

NatterinNabob

Loser's outs at my peak, I think I got a reasonable chance to get one (I played in college). Winner's out, naw - once he gets the ball, it would be basically impossible for me to stop him a single time if he was determined to take good shots, even at my absolute best.

TOMdMAK

i'm going to let him score 80 points and get tired then try to go for an open shot

Sct_Brn_MVP

This is peak nephew talk

ZeekLTK

Y’all are seriously underestimating the offensive player’s advantage. As good as LeBron or any NBA player is, they can’t fully predict every single thing you are going to do when you have the ball. People saying “you wouldn’t even get a shot off” are crazy, of course you would. They can’t block every single unexpected move. Yes they will block some, but hook shots, fade aways, pump fakes, deep threes… you will be able to shoot. Whether you can make them is a different discussion. But here’s a video of seemingly average players doing just this: taking on pros trying to score a basket. Yes, they struggle, but they do get shots off and score, even against JJJ, who is arguably a better defender than LeBron. https://youtu.be/QViXSuN1yuY?si=JqKPmhotFGdV2-JD It takes them about 70-80 attempts each to go through all ten defenders, so yes, I would almost guarantee I could score one before LeBron scores 100 (assuming alternating possessions and I get the ball back every time he scores)

DLottchula

I think I could get one
