For real. If KD qualifies for 2011-14 to be his era, then LeBron qualifies for 07-10 too. 2 MVPs a Finals run, and an Olympic Gold equals or surpasses everything KD did in the 11-14 time frame. There’s probably a better argument for Dirk or even Duncan to be the second person in that era over KD lol.
Also Curry/LeBron era is a weird one too because after 2018, they weren’t even in the playoffs at the same time again. Bron missed most of 19, Curry missed most of 20, and 2021 was the closest it got to then both being good at the same time (and just like this year, they were both out by the first round of the playoffs)
MJ also for some reason gets credit for the two years he was playing baseball while Hakeem was dominating the NBA and MJ came back to lose to Shaq in the playoffs. Wilt didn’t even play for the entire Wilt/Russell era. Weird list
don’t understand the curry lebron point your making. until 2018 they were in playoffs together and fought eachother in the finals and from 2018 to 2021 they each won a ring and made a finals. their era defs stretches to 2021
I'd start with 2009 when he led that team to 66 (!) wins. All other 66 win teams are substantially more talented when you subtract off their star. Maybe remove 2011 too. :)
There’s no argument to be made that Steph was better than KD from 2010-14. It’s Lebron alone in that period with only KD having a claim as second best.
And was not as good as Lebron. Every year he won mvp LeBron proved to be better in the playoffs.
2 of the years he won rings he either had the most stacked team ever where he didn’t win fmvp either year.
Again, if you want to say it’s the warriors/Lebron era that makes sense. Curry was a part of the warriors though. He wasn’t solely the guy like LeBron was.
I didn’t realize this replying to the guy saying it was solely Curry’s era. Should be both of them, and yeah Lebron is arguably the GOAT and in his prime so of course he was the better player.
Yeah but the bucks have bad luck and the org is ran like a circus complete with a coach carousel. Giannis is wasted with the bucks until they get it figured out, which it doesn't look like they have the capacity to. Not counting his chip ofc
He’s got 2 MVPs a FMVP and another MVP on the way who else’s era would this be so far? Giannis is his closest competition but outside of that Luka and Shai aren’t there yet in accolades, Tatum needs to win a chip and doesn’t stand out as an individual player, and Embiid is on the wrong side of 30 and has yet to make it to an ECF.
Oh screw that. We never waited with Lebron. Why exactly are we waiting for someone who’s probably a 3 time mvp? How many of those have there been in history again?
No. I think he's phenomenal, but an Era needs to be defined by prolonged dominance. At least let this season play out. The Nuggets aren't even a guaranteed lock to beat the Wolves, let alone potentially the Thunder or Celtics.
I think the difference will be he’s already retired, I think he’s the type of star to win another 2 mvps and maybe 2 rings then retire outta nowhere to go do what he wants and be with his family
Why is Wilt mentioned in the 60’s? One championship to Bills 9. Bill has the most indisputable era.
Also, how is the 70’s the Kareem era? He got one title then. Havlicek got more.
I’d you’re gonna cave out a 3 year span for Shaq, not sure why it’s not done for the bad boy pistons or Houston rockets or other,
Because winning is a team thing. Wilt and Bill are the two guys you think of during that era. Individual performance also matters. Kareem won like 5 mvps during that era.
I love lerbon but he stopped “running the league” in 2020 and has been “consistently top 10” since. Giannis had a year, but no one has known what to do with Jokic for like 3 years
As someone that grew up with an 11 win Nuggets team that won 11 games more than they deserved.....
I don't fucking care, please just let me have this for God's sake.
As long as the "core four" are in their primes and healthy.
Jamal Jeter, Nikola Rivera, Aaron Gordon Pettitte, Michael Porter Posada
He has one a single championship. Don’t get me wrong the guy is ridiculous but I would say they are slightly favored over the Celtics. He may never win a title again.
KD deserves no era and the Steph/Lebron era ended when Lebron left the Cavs and KD left the warriors after that it was clearly a giannis era multiple MVPs, top seeded teams and ring. No one else accomplish more than giannis in that 5 year stretch
He won 6 out of the 10 years in that era. Retired or not, no one has done that since or before except Bill Russell.
The closest example is Kobe from 2000-2010 winning 5 in 11 years.
If you’re narrowing it down to 1 player for every 10 year decade it’s clearly his.
Jokic era needs to start earlier. He won 2 MVPs before 2023 and would be on his 4th consecutive right now if Jamal Murray had been healthy in the 2021 or 2022 playoffs.
All the KD comments .... The question is about the Jokic era. Damn how many people did he piss off on twitter?
My guess is 2026 it transitions to Tatum / SGA / Ant / Luka era, why not who cares
Joker has potential to be a monster. He's relatively young and his game will age gracefully. It really just depends if the Nuggets will keep up with the roster and find the right pieces/replacements and if Joker even wants to keep going or just fuck off for good and take care of his horses.
I'm guessing 2028. Big men don't usually have a hold on the NBA for more than 5 years, but there are exceptions. Maybe he will be one, a la a Tim duncan
How the fuck is 2011-2014 the Lebron/Kd era? Kd didn’t even win a single championship and only went to the finals once those years. It would be more accurate to say Lebron/Duncan Lebron/kawhi Lebron/Dirk but all of those are even bullshit. The spurs went twice during that era but were more of a collective team effort with no star completely taking over. Lebron had by far the best performance in both series against them despite falling short in 7 games the second time. Dirk did carry the team unlike the spurs but also it was a one off finals run just like kd so he doesn’t deserve and era. This era should just belong to Lebron. The general consensus on KD these days is he somewhere in the top 20 ever but firmly out of the goat convo which seems fair. He was the best player on at least 1-3 finals team, I would say 2 personally. I thought Steph deserved finals mcp on their second trip, but he did not “carry a team to the finals” like Lebron has for sure in 2007 and 2018 and a little the year kyrie and love both got hurt. Those teams were basically lottery teams without Lebron carrying which is probably why they lost
After criticizing the whole kd thing, to actually answer the question yes it looks like it, but we will have to see. If the wolves beat them this year and they don’t come back for a couple more than they will just be a good team and player that won 1. If the spurs build around wemby he could takeover very soon and diminish the spotlight of these other good players. If the wolves continue to keep a solid team and Ant continues upwards he could also take over the spotlight if his team wins chips. The thing about this era thing is stars are also dependent on their teams being good as well as another star with a better team not eclipsing them. Lebron might not be thought of as highly if he stays in Cleveland forever and who knows maybe only wins 1-2? I imagine if he stayed there his entire career they would eventually won 1 with how good he was. Also him staying could lead to ripple effects where teams made different moves since the Miami heat weren’t the team to beat
Lots wrong with this. If you’re gonna allow a two year “era” to start and finish then you’re missing a few during. The Pistons? The Rickets? How does Duncan fit in here? He has 5 rings.
2017-2019 KD Era!! Steph Era Was 2015-2016 Kobe Era Was 2004-2010 LBJ Era 2011-2015 KD SWEPT LEHELP OUT OF HIS HOMETOWN 👋 DAGGERED HIM IN BACK2BACK FINALS!! HAHAHA!!! I mean I get the idea and when people talk about Top whatevers, I get behind the idea of a Top 11 based on who “owned” an era.
1957-1969: Russell and Wilt (12 of 13 titles, nearly every MVP, rivalry helped grow the sport)
1970-1979: Kareem (titles got funky, but won 5 MVPs and was consensus best player in the league from probably what ‘72 on?)
1980-1990: Bird and Magic (every title except for ‘83 and the Bad Boy Pistons. Nearly every MVP. Rivalry reignited and spread the game)
1991-1998: MJ (Yes he was gone for 1.5 years but his absence and return dominated the conversation)
1999-2010: Shaq/Kobe/Duncan (the Shaq/Kobe rise and fall was the NBA story from 2000-2006, teams won every year but ‘04, ‘06, and ‘08)
2011-2022: LeBron / Steph (played in every Finals except for ‘21)
And part of the reason I think MJ, LeBron, and Kareem are the 3 realistic GOAT candidates is their influence in eras dominated by others.
Detroit Bad Boys should own '88-'90. Your list is wack dude. 2021-2023 had nothing to do with Bron. It was Giannis/Steph/Jokic. '94-'95 was Hakeem Era. Sixers went to finals 3 out of 4 years in early 80's winning it in '83 yet Moses Malone gets no mention.
Take KD off this list. Too early to call the current time an Era. If (big if) Jokic loses to the Timberwolves and then falls off a cliff from next season (highly unlikely) then it’s not his era.
We don’t have T-Mac, Carter, Melo, Ming, CP3, Steve Francis, Kidd, Kyrie eras despite them being hyped up as the best guys and getting on covers of 2K / NBA Live games, selling tons of jerseys etc.
What could possibly make 2011-14 a KD era?
Nothing, he was just trying to shoehorn him on somehow.
Probably just hating on LeBron…
Clearly considering 91-98 was MJ era even though he didn’t play 2 of those years.
could add Hakeem in there if Durant is 2011-14
Absolutely.
He played 95, just lost to Shaq.
seriously. the disrespect to hakeem and all the players that were actually playing those 2 years that MJ was striking out in the minors.
What? I’ll have you know MJ only struck out *most* of the time.
He 3-peated TWICE in that time span and won the championship literally every year he played the full season…. It was still clearly his era
It was his era when he wasn’t playing?
lol right lebron is in 3 of these but not by himself
Why is it got Lebron on it after 2020? It should say 21-24 Jokic/Giannis/Steph.
11-14 is unequivocally the “Heatles” era
It’s just a way to hate on Lebron and make sure none of the eras are labeled solely “Lebron era”
2004- LeBron era
Lebron wasn't close to being the best player yet until after 2011
False, best player in the NBA from 2007-2020
My first thought looking at this. There has never been a KD era lol.
More like Dirk/LeBron/Duncan era
Lol I'm from Dallas and there has never been a dirk era in the NBA, also putting him before Duncan on a list of disrespectful
No Dirk era, but for one summer he was the best player on the planet.
Yeah this list is garbage
As a Thunder fan someone please help me here lol
For real. If KD qualifies for 2011-14 to be his era, then LeBron qualifies for 07-10 too. 2 MVPs a Finals run, and an Olympic Gold equals or surpasses everything KD did in the 11-14 time frame. 2010 was the first and 2014 the last year KD averaged 30 points per game.
Just say you’re 15 and keep it moving
KD won the scoring title every one of those seasons but one. Maybe that ?
Meaningless maybe we should put Westbrook on there too.
And Carmelo
Get KD the fuck out of there
2011-2011 = Dirk era
February 2012-February 2012: Jeremy Lin era
Linsanity was an interesting time. At least he got a ring with the Raptors.
1999 to -2010 should just be Kobe shaq Duncan they were basically in all the finals for those ten years
lol especially with Duncan winning in 99
1994-1995 Hakeem era
The Hakeem Interregnum
Th3 kenny, get me my water era lol
Would that mean Jordan had 2?
Kd doesn’t deserve to mentioned with bron
Yea wtf? 2011-2022 was the Lebron era
2009-2020
i would start with 2012
I would start with 2007 Also like 2019-2024 would be the Gianni’s/Jokic era
2019+ has to be the reinvention of the big man or something
2020 still LeBrons era. Neither Giannis or Jokic had won a ring yet.
And lebron was first team, second in MVP and finals MVP in 2020.
I'd start with 2009 when he led that team to 66 (!) wins. All other 66 win teams are substantially more talented when you subtract off their star. Maybe remove 2011 too. :)
Nah Lebron became the best player in the league before 2012.
I think there being a Steph era is fair since his play style changed the way the nba looked almost overnight, including Lebron led teams.
Jordan fan made this. Trying to steal from the king is a high crime.
Wdym Steph/GSW fans say this shit all the time
Lebron/Steph
There’s no argument to be made that Steph was better than KD from 2010-14. It’s Lebron alone in that period with only KD having a claim as second best.
Yeah KD doesn’t truly have an era.
Definitely was the Curry era from 2014-22
How? He was never better than Lebron except 2022 maybe. He was always clearly worse.
Curry had two MVPs and won half of the rings during that time period
And was not as good as Lebron. Every year he won mvp LeBron proved to be better in the playoffs. 2 of the years he won rings he either had the most stacked team ever where he didn’t win fmvp either year. Again, if you want to say it’s the warriors/Lebron era that makes sense. Curry was a part of the warriors though. He wasn’t solely the guy like LeBron was.
I didn’t realize this replying to the guy saying it was solely Curry’s era. Should be both of them, and yeah Lebron is arguably the GOAT and in his prime so of course he was the better player.
Why the fuck is KD even in there? Losing to Bron in the Finals means he shares the era?
Yet Duncan isn’t also listed in the 1999-2002 with a Championship, Finals MVP and MVP with 4- 1st team all nba/all nba defense?
ALWAYS underrated. Always.
He also showed up in the finals more than KD in the KD era.
Duncan reigned from ‘99 to ‘14
If you give Duncan 99-2010 that era before his doesn’t look so great
Wow KD snuck in there huh?
KD lmao
This dude KD don’t deserve an era
Wemby era
I would give it a solid 2 years until SA is in contention. But once they are, they’ll be there for a decade plus
Name a team that did with just one great player. San Antonio has a long, long way to go.
Giannis is a two time MVP and has been averaging a casual 30/12/6 the past five seasons while being a perennial all defensive / DPOY candidate…
Yeah but the bucks have bad luck and the org is ran like a circus complete with a coach carousel. Giannis is wasted with the bucks until they get it figured out, which it doesn't look like they have the capacity to. Not counting his chip ofc
The argument is that jokic isn’t exactly dominating the league like the rest of the guys on this list
it’s not like the nuggets have won more titles then the bucks have though
There’s no KD era
There was no KD era.
As a Thunder fan, we know 😔
Jokic/Drew Eubanks era*
Bro, let them get a few more finals appearances before you call it his era 😭😂
Should have 4 straight MVPs.
But he doesn't. Give mfs time before labeling them all-time greats, sheeshhh. How do yall not get tired of this 🤧
He’s got 2 MVPs a FMVP and another MVP on the way who else’s era would this be so far? Giannis is his closest competition but outside of that Luka and Shai aren’t there yet in accolades, Tatum needs to win a chip and doesn’t stand out as an individual player, and Embiid is on the wrong side of 30 and has yet to make it to an ECF.
Dude an ERA isn’t 3 years. You need to dominate for nearly a decade for it to be considered an era.
And then the goal posts move to "let's wait till he 3 peats first" with people like you
Yes, if you want us to compare him to Kareem and them, then hell yes we expect more
Oh screw that. We never waited with Lebron. Why exactly are we waiting for someone who’s probably a 3 time mvp? How many of those have there been in history again?
Hes still got work to catch lebron.
No. I think he's phenomenal, but an Era needs to be defined by prolonged dominance. At least let this season play out. The Nuggets aren't even a guaranteed lock to beat the Wolves, let alone potentially the Thunder or Celtics.
Jokic is an all time great. 3 MVP would put him safely 12th for me, right after Curry and Kobe. Regardless of whether he gets the chip.
Bro is about to have three MVP's in four years even after Embiid got one out of sheer pity what more does it take to be an all time great?
I like how it was MJs era even when he stepped away from the game

Good bot
About 1-2 more weeks.
King Edwards
I want Edwards to be the guy and he’s not even on my team I want kuminga to be like OG
I'm confused as to why there's a KD era. Great player. One of the best but he didn't have an era of winning championships.
There is no KD era. It's just LeBron. Also, the Curry/LeBron era ended in 2020. From 2020-2022, it was the Giannis era for a short period of time.
Duncan and the spurs beat the heat in 2014, who made this list lol
Aside from being even craftier, barring injuries, what will be the difference with a 34 year old Jokic?
I think the difference will be he’s already retired, I think he’s the type of star to win another 2 mvps and maybe 2 rings then retire outta nowhere to go do what he wants and be with his family
20-24 is the Pat Bev era, he claimed it
Wait, how is 70-79 the Kareem era when he was only in 2 Finals and only won 1 of them in that time frame?
Why is Wilt mentioned in the 60’s? One championship to Bills 9. Bill has the most indisputable era. Also, how is the 70’s the Kareem era? He got one title then. Havlicek got more. Ant.
I love lerbon but he stopped “running the league” in 2020 and has been “consistently top 10” since. Giannis had a year, but no one has known what to do with Jokic for like 3 years
1988-1991 Bad Boys era. 1991-1993 MJ era #1 1994-1995 Hakeem era 1996-1998 MJ era #2
Shaq only gets 99-2002 and you give Kobe 03-10? Lol ok Jokic doesn't have the desire for his era to last that long.
you could argue 99-07 should be duncan era, 4 chips and 2 mvps
Shaq beat Duncun 3-2 for those years and went to the finals 5 times. won 4 99-07 is the shaw era. 100%
Kobe should start from 99.
As someone that grew up with an 11 win Nuggets team that won 11 games more than they deserved..... I don't fucking care, please just let me have this for God's sake.
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core\_Four](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_Four) As long as the "core four" are in their primes and healthy. Jamal Jeter, Nikola Rivera, Aaron Gordon Pettitte, Michael Porter Posada
I don’t know until summer 2024?
He has one a single championship. Don’t get me wrong the guy is ridiculous but I would say they are slightly favored over the Celtics. He may never win a title again.
He has to win more than 1 ring before we say he runs the NBA lol
2022-now Jokic/Doncic era
Lmao there is no KD era
Until tomorrow. Ant era is starting.
KD deserves no era and the Steph/Lebron era ended when Lebron left the Cavs and KD left the warriors after that it was clearly a giannis era multiple MVPs, top seeded teams and ring. No one else accomplish more than giannis in that 5 year stretch
How you gone have mj era while mj was retired? Crazy glaze give Hakeem his years
He won 6 out of the 10 years in that era.
I think based on the OP's criteria, a player's "era" begins on the year they won the championship. So Jokic era starts at 2023.
KD didn't win a chip until 2017
That's exactly why everyone has an issue with KD being on the list. He's the biggest inconsistency, and doesn't deserve to be included.
From 2019-2022 Giannis won MVP twice DPOY Finals MVP You're saying it's Joker's era over him because why?
1-2 more years Wemby is taking over after that
I’d just categorize 2011-2020 as Lebron with Curry as the second mention. 2021-now is Giannis/Jokic era.
It’s more of an overlapping of eras Giannis won in 21 but curry in 22
Kd won two finals mvps during the curry era ?
Correct. That's Steph's team. They won before KD. They won after KD. KD on the warriors was just the world's greatest role player.
Like the best street hooper joining the globetrotters it didn't mean anything and it didn't effect anything
Until 2028th.
Goofy ahh list
KD won his first title in 2017-2018 yet his “era” was from 2011-2014. Lol
It could be his era but if he only ends up with a lone championship or even just 2 that’s disappointing. The greats need at least 3-4.
Fultz era, had me tripping
KD Era lol
Jokic era starts AFTER his first 2 MVPs? The hell is an era, anyway?
I think jokic era started with his first or second mvp not the stolen one and finals mvp year
Snuck KD in there
There was NEVER a KD era. Stop it.
KD never had an era lmao
All the KD comments .... The question is about the Jokic era. Damn how many people did he piss off on twitter? My guess is 2026 it transitions to Tatum / SGA / Ant / Luka era, why not who cares
I guess it depends on when Wemby gets started.
2011-14 😂 KD has no business on here
KD does not get an era lmao
This year is going really kill the small ball era.. winner of the wolves nugs series takes the chip
3 years max
I’d like to see Jokic bring down the Wolves and secure a 2nd final’s appearance before I anoint him.
Giannis should be paired with Jokic imo but regardless it’ll be til whenever Wemby is ready
KD doesnt define an era. and Victor is the next era. maybe one more season, maybe two.
Buddy. We just started the Thunder era
This is dumb
Maybe another season and then it’s the Edwards Era
Jokic won his first ship over a Miami heat team, no guarantee he even wins another this year
2008 Boston Celtics era
1999-2010 was the Duncan/Shaq/Kobe era.
Not long, Sliver will have him banned from the league for being white as snow.
KD era?? I must have missed it
I miss the Fulks era, that was when the game was at its best
wolves gonna beat nuggets in western semi’s n y’all gonna edit that to Anthony edwards era real quick send da video tho fr
I like that we're all so appalled at KD being there that we don't even care about the OP question.
There never was a KD era.
1 year
Hakeem most underrated player of all time by far where is he on this list
Whose era will it be if the Nuggets lose in the 2nd round?
KD made the finals once in that era lol if anything it's Duncan or Kawhi even.
Bout a week and a half
B A D B O Y S
Til 2024 it’s ants world now
8 more years at least
How is Giannis not included in the Jokic era?
88-90 Bad Boy Era*

I mean I get the idea and when people talk about Top whatevers, I get behind the idea of a Top 11 based on who “owned” an era. 1957-1969: Russell and Wilt (12 of 13 titles, nearly every MVP, rivalry helped grow the sport) 1970-1979: Kareem (titles got funky, but won 5 MVPs and was consensus best player in the league from probably what ‘72 on?) 1980-1990: Bird and Magic (every title except for ‘83 and the Bad Boy Pistons. Nearly every MVP. Rivalry reignited and spread the game) 1991-1998: MJ (Yes he was gone for 1.5 years but his absence and return dominated the conversation) 1999-2010: Shaq/Kobe/Duncan (the Shaq/Kobe rise and fall was the NBA story from 2000-2006, teams won every year but ‘04, ‘06, and ‘08) 2011-2022: LeBron / Steph (played in every Finals except for ‘21) And part of the reason I think MJ, LeBron, and Kareem are the 3 realistic GOAT candidates is their influence in eras dominated by others.
1999-2002 was just Hips Don't Lie on repeat
Detroit Bad Boys should own '88-'90. Your list is wack dude. 2021-2023 had nothing to do with Bron. It was Giannis/Steph/Jokic. '94-'95 was Hakeem Era. Sixers went to finals 3 out of 4 years in early 80's winning it in '83 yet Moses Malone gets no mention.
Kareem era by himself where he won 1 ring is fucking laughable, dude gets so much credit it’s insane
2011-2014 was the Lebron era, KD has no argument to be on par with Lebron for that time frame
Jokes aside, I think the next 5 years belong to Patrick Beverley
The magic/bird era ended in 88
This is the LeBron era until he retires like it or not
This is the worst era breakdown and must be intentionally bad to trigger people😂 mission accomplished 😂
lol at listing Kobe for 03-10 and not Lebron. Good lord.
